A BEAUTIFUL Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Happy Sunday Morning, JaSammers!
Sorry I missed you guys last week, but sometimes my weekends are too full – even for me!
Last night, my hubby and I celebrated late into the night with two dear friends renewing their vows after 25 years of marriage. Of course, I wept as they recommitted themselves to the next leg of their journey together, but one of my favorite things I heard in their vows was:
“We have seen better and survived worse; we have been richer, and we have been poorer. We have gotten sick and gotten healthy. But most importantly, we have loved each other every step of the way”…
Certainly, it made me look at my own marriage and appreciate those very things in our 23 years together. I hope for my married friends out there, it does the same. And for those who have loved so well and lost their great love too soon, as my dearest Sarah, I hope you look back with a sense of pride and accomplishment that you kept those promises so wonderfully.

Jason and Sam shared a BEAUTIFUL Love. I choose to believe in my JaSam-loving heart that they were well on their way to Forever Love. A WEDDING NIGHT Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane

As promised, this week, we’ll celebrate what came after the long-awaited “I Do’s” for our beloved couple!
I remember their wedding/wedding night week so vividly – the actual episodes, watching and crying together while on the phone with Ro, tweeting and texting all night with Becky while waiting for the screencaps to be posted…it was as though someone in our family had just tied the knot! *sigh*

It’s why posting these anniversary vids fills the void in my JaSam-loving heart – albeit temporarily – so sweetly.
At Karina’s insistence, I am dividing the Drives into two categories – The Wedding Night, and then, next week, the Happy Honeymoon scenes. Hey, I can never get too much of a celebration when it comes to our couple, so why not?

An ANNIVERSARY Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Happy JaSam Anniversary, JaSammers! ❤
Really great Love Stories, like our couple’s, are to be celebrated long after the “death” of the couple. That’s because LOVE that amazing and inspirational lives on and on.
So, of course, today on their wedding anniversary (even though the wedding *date* was September 23) we shall do just that: celebrate our all-time favorite Love Story by remembering their Wedding Day.
I don’t know about you, but I will be eternally grateful to the vidders who memorialized forever this incredible occasion we anticipated for almost eight years! Looking back at all of these fabulous memories warms my heart and filled my eyes with tears. I can never regret the investment of time and energy I put into Jason and Sam. They were worth the time, effort, and yes – even the heartache of losing them! I’d do it all over again – without a single hesitation!

LOST On A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Good Sunday Morning, JaSammers!
I have had a couple of entirely sleepless nights this week (stress never fails to render me sleepless), and I turned to my one comfort through insomnia…JaSamVids.
I will admit, I hadn’t done that in a while…I guess the loss of JaSam has taken more out of me than I realized, and I often found it painful to watch the beautiful and wonderful Love Story for too long before I felt a lump in my throat. However, this past week reminded me that Jason and Sam also bring a sense of euphoria that it totally worth the lump in my throat – and even the tears that often followed!
The vids for this week all have a common thread – they deal with LOSS, because every time I see these two onscreen, I am overwhelmed by the loss I feel watching my once favorite soap.
You’ll notice that some of the songs are repeated by different vidders – but they are so uniquely done, that I didn‘t think you’d mind! 🙂

A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane…With An Expert Behind The Wheel
Good Sunday Morning, JaSammers!
I know it might have crossed a few minds that I had abandoned Bella Mafia, but that’s not the case at all.
Unfortunately, my mom had a major health crisis – one that began with a catheterization, and led to a triple bypass – and that has just taken up all of my free time over the past month, and then some. My sister and I are all my mom has, and my sister is not retired, as I am…so I have taken on caring for my mom on a daily basis. Thankfully, the doctors are all very impressed with her progress so far, and I have become a low sodium, low fat, smart sugar chef almost overnight, so she is getting healthy and it is our goal to keep her healthy with this new lease on life she ha been granted. I’d appreciate your prayers for her! 🙂
This weekend, my hubby and I are also celebrating an anniversary, so the 2 day “leave” my aunt has granted me while she cares for my mom has given me the time to get back to blogging for our Sunday Drive, though I’m not sure the hubster is thrilled with my devotion while away, no matter what he says. LOL
Anyway, leave it to our in-car expert, the uber-talented Heather, to give me exactly what I needed for this week’s Drive. It may seem at first sight that I am skimping on the Drive this week, but look carefully. Heather has put together a MASTERPIECE that will take quite some time to view (a little over 20 minutes), so I kept the selection of vids shorter this week, and only included two more in addition to said masterpiece, as I know we are all pressed for time for one reason or another.
I just know that these vids will make you laugh, cry, smile, frown, squeal, groan, sigh and want to stick fiery pins into little voodoo Frank and Ron dolls (JUST KIDDING!) In all seriousness, these vids will make your FEEL so much! And THAT is exactly why I’ve kept this Sunday Drive going almost a year after Steve’s departure! I never want us to forget the Love Story that brought us all together, and kept us all together!

A THOUGHTFUL Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane

I was a little disheartened when I didn’t find any new JaSam vids this week, because it is just a stark reminder that our vidders are working without any new material, and have been for quite some time. I guess it was only a matter of time before even the most faithful ran out of inspiration. 😦
We can only hope that after a much-needed hiatus, inspiration will strike once more. Until then, we’ll have to depend on the classics to keep us going.
On this trip, we’ll focus on Jason and Sam’s thoughts towards or about one another…whether you can hear their thoughts, or see them (since Jason and Sam were never able to mask how they felt about each other-even when they tried), it all makes for a beautiful ride throughout their years together.

An INSPIRING Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Good Sunday Morning, GHers!
I hope this Sunday morning finds you all well…and comfortable. I know so much of the country is dealing with excessive heat as we are. We are entering Day 8 of a heatwave up here in Jersey…one we were supposed to get relief from yesterday in the form of a line of massive thunderstorms and plenty of moisture to wash away this oppressive heat.
What we ACTUALLY got was thunder and lightning for the past couple of nights, and a 5 minute shower yesterday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to even wash away the poor, sad drooping blooms on our flowers! I’m hoping with my fingers crossed that overnight we will get something a little more substantial! I think many of us could use a reprieve from all of this sticky heat!
As for our Drive today, don’t worry – the AC is pumping! However, I think you’ll be happiest to know, as I was, that I was pleasantly surprised over how many of our JaSam vidders seemed to have been INSPIRED again over the past couple of weeks. I know it had to be INSPIRATION from within their JaSam-loving hearts, as we don’t have any coming from our former favorite soap…so it means all the more that our vidders did such beautiful work for all of us to enjoy! The fact that they are INSPIRED to not let go just yet INSPIRES me to do the very same!
Thank you so much to each of you talented, wonderful, generous vidders for sharing this lovely gift with all of us when we need it most! You guys keep the JaSam Love alive, and for that, so many of us are eternally grateful!

An ECLECTIC Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Good Sunday Morning, GHers!
I apologize profusely for not swinging by to pick you all up last Sunday, but we were traveling to attend Nelson’s niece’s wedding shower, and time just got away from me while preparing. I had every intention of getting up a couple of hours early on Sunday to get our Drive done, but insomnia won the battle on Saturday night, and when I finally fell asleep, I had only a couple of hours before I had to get going. 😦
Our summers are usually very busy…today I will be running around like a crazy person again, but this time in preparation for Karina’s 21st Birthday celebration! Our baby girl is growing up! *tears*

Thanks for all the comments and congrats regarding Matthew’s graduation and achievements! And congrats to all who shared similar wonderful experiences! I love sharing big moments in my life with you guys almost as much as I love hearing about yours! 🙂
You know, this week, I was thinking about how much I miss the old GH Formula…no matter how flawed it was at times, GH always managed to grab me and reel me in…touching my heart when all was said and done. Now…nothing really grabs me. Nothing seems to touch my heart. And nothing seems to keep me.
When we talk about Jason and Sam being The Beauty of GH, that was really their hook: the fact that they managed to reach out and grab us, and they always managed to touch our hearts because of the way they touched each other, both figuratively and literally. I really miss that most. 😦
So, this week, I went in search of vids that show us that: Just how TOUCHING Jason and Sam’s Love Story always was. I hope it reminds you of the best GH had to offer. I hope it also reminds you that these two were worth every moment we invested; even in spite of the fact that we lost them just as we should have been enjoying the biggest payout on our investment.

A TWISTED Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Good Sunday morning…though I suspect that by the time I hit “Publish”, it will be good Sunday Afternoon!
As many of you who follow me on Facebook know, it has been an incredibly happy and rewarding week for our family! Our son, Matthew, graduated eighth grade on Wednesday evening, and did so in a big way; earning both scholarships available for writing and math, as well as two Community Service awards. We are extremely proud, and feeling very thankful for the children we have. 🙂
Inasmuch as we had lots to celebrate this week, we had many to celebrate with over our house…until the wee hours of the morning. Hence the late start today. 🙂

A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane With Baby Danny On Board

Last year on this very day, my family and I were in North Carolina, trying to get a feel for what might be our future home, and I was doing that while being desperately frustrated over the fact that Sam had just given birth to Danny and I wouldn’t be catching up until we we back in Jersey!
Now, a year later, it’s even more frustrating to catalog all of the things we’ve been through as JaSam fans since, and heartbreaking to face what we are left with from the once epic possibilities for the new Quartermaine/Cassadine heir. *sigh*

A Monday Drive Down MEMORIAL Lane
Happy Memorial Day, GHers!
Technically, today is the last day of the weekend, so technically, I’m not really late, am I? *fingers crossed*
My Sunday was really busy, as Karina came home, and there wasn’t even a moment that I could steal away for myself. I know you guys understand.
I just want to thank you all for the love and concern and the thoughts and prayers you all said on our behalf. Without a doubt, our family has been dealt a huge blow in losing our Abuelita, our matriarch, our GLUE. She kept us all together, and now she’s no longer with us, so for those of us left behind, we’ve really gotta get it together to make sure we are doing her proud when it comes to keeping the family together. That task alone needs lots of prayers and positivity! 🙂 In all seriousness though, Thank You ALL! You guys have a very special place in my heart!

A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane Full Of History
Good Sunday Morning, GHers!
Forgive me for not posting on Mother’s Day. My beautiful 90-year-old grandma was not herself all day, and ended up going to the hospital just to make sure everything was okay. It wasn’t. She passed away on Wednesday night; peacefully, but leaving behind lots of broken hearts. 😦 As many of you know, my oldest daughter Karina was her primary caregiver during the day, and now she is completely lost without her great-grandmother. We are preparing for the start of her funeral serviced tomorrow, and there is just no way to be ready for this, even when you should expect it.
I struggled with whether or not I had the energy to sit down and put together A Sunday Drive this week, but in the end, I figured the distraction would do me good, not just you guys. 🙂
History is on my mind this week, as I realize more than ever it is for people to understand background and history. Without it, you can never truly appreciate the person…or in JaSam’s case…persons. So I thought it would be a great idea to revisit the history of JaSam, especially now, that their history is all we have. Luckily, a sweet friend, Karlene, (Scooter5117), had dedicated many long hours to documenting the history of JaSam and their significant moments. Our Drive this week, therefore, will look and sound a bit different, as it won’t be regular music videos, but instead fantastic little “History Lessons” throughout their Love Story.

A TENDER Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane

There are times when I really miss my JaSam for the beautiful distraction they brought to my DAILY life. While we will always have Youtube vids, the daily pull of those two is sorely missed! Their magic got me through some tough times…and when I thought about it while looking for vids this week, I must admit that while there was rarely a JaSam scene I didn’t absolutely love, their TENDER moments made me smile the biggest. And if we are all honest, it was those tender moments that made us all such dedicated followers, because the tenderness they shared as Jason and Sam was only that meaningful because of the commitment Steve and Kelly put in to making it transcend from TV screen to our hearts.

A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane…Full of LOVIN’

I’m coming by a little later because at some point while blogging last night, I fell asleep. It was much needed as I hadn’t slept very well in days worrying over a speaking engagement I had yesterday. Exhaustion and relief finally helped me get to sleep last night – I’m just sorry I couldn’t finish this post first. A CLASSIC JaSam Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane
Good Sunday Morning, GHers.
After two weeks without a laptop, I feel kinda out of practice!
I am sorry for not being around, but with Easter, spring break, and having family in and out of town, getting the computer in for service and then picked up got lost in the shuffle more than once. I actually dreamed more than once that when we finally got around to picking it up, they told us our laptop was gone.
Luckily, we were able to avoid that scenario, and here I am…back at my favorite Sunday pastime. 🙂
Hope everyone is well…I have missed you guys.
I have to tell you all that I watched The Nurse’s Ball every single day, and I am happy to report that it felt sorta like old times in that I was actually eager to turn my TV on to watch GH again. That hadn’t happened in a very long time…I believe since The AIC took over our show. However, I must say that they completely lived up to the spirit of The Nurses’ Ball for me…and I truly enjoyed it.
While of course Kelly and Maks dance was my absolute favorite, I really loved all of it. I was singing at the top of my lungs right along with Frisco, as “All I Need” was an old fave, and who could possibly resist Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl?” CLASSICS on a CLASSIC!
Everything else was pretty darned good, too, just like old times…Sabrina and Emma were too cute, the hotties taking it all off were even better, and Epiphany & The Revelations were OUTSTANDING!
It felt good to love my beloved soap, even if for a couple of weeks. 🙂 While I will try to keep the love going, I can’t really ignore the hole in my heart at not having our beloved couple. 😦
So, I still spend my sleepless insomniac hours reliving the magic…and while it’s hard to be really happy about GH without them, I know that they will always be perfectly happy living on MEMORY LANE! 🙂

A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane…Celebrating A Master Memory Maker

This coming Friday, our Master Memory Maker, Heather (aproditebeauty), will be celebrating a birthday! How could I not take the opportunity to celebrate her and what she has meant for so many of us JaSam Fans?!?
Heather was there, holding this group together when Jason and Sam were finding their way as a couple again, when they were reigniting their passion and their love, overcoming obstacles like prison and Brenda, deciding to become Mr. & Mrs., enjoying their only moments as a happily married couple, and again while they facing their darkest of times. A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane…Under The Stars
Happy Sunday, GHers!
I apologize for the late start – it’s been a very busy weekend around here. We had a late night at my kids’ school’s Annual Gospel Concert, and my Vanessa was in a play celebrating Black History Month! So, not only have we been busy, but we’ve been celebrating our baby girl’s outstanding accomplishment! 🙂
But, never too busy to honor our Sunday routine, so, here we are…taking our Sunday Drive; this time, “Under The Stars”.
I would think that only Chinese Food could rival the significance of the stars and what they mean to Jason and Sam and their incredible history. I was inspired by a vidder new to our Sunday Drive (julietkim99) to make this week’s Drive one that would honor their connection to the stars.

As long as there are *STARS* twinkling in the sky, Jason and Samantha Morgan will be my favorite couple ever!
And I will continue to remember them fondly…as though Genoa City and Port Charles (the spinoff that came back) don’t even exist.

A Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane…With The Couple Who’s Still Number One
Good Sunday Morning, GHers!
I don’t know about you, but nothing happening on GH right now, and definitely not on Y&R, could satisfy the void I am feeling for JaSam! I find myself battling my insomnia with their vids until I am convinced that I didn’t imagine the magic they shared!
While watching some vids this past week, I decided to honor one of the vidders who helped keep me sane through my last JaSam withdrawals, circa 2007-08. I remember feeling pretty hopeless about a JaSam future back then, as even Steve was saying at his PA’s that he thought Jason and Sam were done for good. Yet, any time I saw one of this vidder’s creations, I felt hope creeping right back in to my cold little heart.
I realized that once again, this time, her vids helped me with this sense of loss I’ve been feeling about our couple, and so she deserves a little bit of recognition for her amazing talent and outstanding efforts on each incredible vid. My hope is that her vids will do for each of you what they did for me – TWICE…and that they’ll keep us from giving up on the possibility of reliving the magic we all fell in love with. Vampires and Genoa City Be Damned!
I personally would like to thank jasamarenumberone for each of her fantastic vids! She has such a keen vision for how she wants to tell each unique story of her vids, and she nails it each time!
