ALL ROADS LEAD TO…

GHers, Port Charles seemed a little different to me today?

Am I the only one?

😉

Regardless, life was still happening in PC – and its residents were embarking upon adventures all over the place.

When Maxie and Matt took off from the hospital, they had no idea that all roads would lead to spending an afternoon of “adult entertainment”, but there they were – stuck in Johnny’s penthouse while he and Lisa engaged in an interesting game of Black(mail) Ops. I wonder what that was like. Anyway, Maxie and Matt managed to stay out of sight and under John and Lisa’s radars until they took off to shower together. I was actually impressed that they managed it. Really I was. Our M&M’s then headed back to the hospital where they shared what they’d found out with Patrick and Robin. I have to say that a lot of our lighter moments definitely came within those scenes. I mean how funny was Maxie describing the Lisa/John hookup as a “hit it and quit it?” If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear the funny and feisty Miss Storms came up with that on her own. Either way, it was cute and true to character, and it garnered a chuckle from most – so great job, writers!

As anxious as the Drs. Scorpio were to get in to John’s apartment to search for themselves, John caused a bit of a delay when he decided he wanted Lisa to stay for a glass of wine after their shower a deux. I know I may be in the minority here, but I love the John and Lisa dynamic! When it comes to these two, I believe all roads lead to riveting! I love how they are both just normal enough to be considered functioning, but they are just positively entertaining! They not only get my attention, but keep it, because I am just trying to figure out what the draw truly is for each of them. I know that it seems that for Lisa it’s all about the fact that she’s trying to appease her blackmailer, but I think there’s more to that now. I genuinely think that she doesn’t know what to do with genuine caring, and so she can’t appreciate it yet. But she likes it. I know that Steve Webber may have cared as well, but Lisa could never make it work with a nice guy. John may not be a bad guy, but he’s a good guy. And while he may be a good guy, he’s certainly not a nice guy. Lisa’s drawn to both sides, even if she won’t ever admit it. For John, I know he’s lonely, but it’s more than that for him, too. John sees this smart, little bit loony chick, who kinda turns him on while kinda turning his stomach at some of the things she’d do. That seems familiar to him because his sister Claudia was someone he loved, even while he hated who she was sometimes. He’s drawn to those both sides of Lisa as well. Sure he’s lonely, but more than that – he sees Lisa is lost and will probably end up doing something that she can’t come back from. He wants to save her from that. That’s just a story bursting with twists, turns, and possibilities! What’s not to love! Our GH Writers are on fire! I am totally sucked into this John and Lisa  pairing, and can’t wait to see what happens next!

So Robin and Patrick decide…to break in themselves to search for the syringe! (I know I was scratching my head, were you?) I don’t know, but if my uncle were the chief of police, I would go to him and ask him to find a reason to search the place of the Mob Prince, but hey – that’s just me. Robin and Patrick finally manage to get inside and search the place, but I’m not sure that when Robin said, “My parents are spies, I know what I’m doing,” that she really did. They seemed to be tripping over one another and searching in some kind of random pattern, and the only thing they were able to accomplish was getting caught! For Robin and Patrick, all roads lead to more trouble when it comes to Lisa. I will say that I thought their scenes were cute, and all of the excitement over being in this high-pressure and rather dangerous situation probably led to a bit of a thrill for both of them. And if that manages to spice things up for them, I’d bet none of their fans will complain.

Kristina is one Davis Girl in need of three others. She needs someone to tell her to  dial it down a notch…or two. While I am a firm believer in fate and being with the person you were meant to be with, there is a fine line between crushing and stalking. For Kristina right now, all roads lead to Ethan. The problem with that is that for Ethan at the moment all roads lead to making a buck. Whether by stealing someone’s good silverware, or by staying married to Maya, Ethan is all bout him right now. When Maya walked in and Ethan shared with her Kristina’s proclamation that she would marry him someday, I realized that Ethan isn’t even near the place yet where he realizes Kristina is dead serious. Even Maya’s reaction to it was a clear indication that Ethan has even convinced her that Kristina’s crush is just a childish passing thing. What a short memory these two have! Where the hell is Sam when we need her? She needs to issue the same warning she issued him after that poker lesson almost a year ago to the day. I have a feeling that Ethan would be a lot more careful with a warning from Sam this time around.

When you work for The Balkan, all roads lead to  a dead end. LITERALLY. Shawn learned this lesson, and just made it out of there with his life, and our poor friend Jules became a victim of The Blade in a far more tragic way than just his fingers. Poor guy. He was a double victim – both of Theo’s obsession with Brenda, and of trying to do whatever it took to help Brenda. Too bad ne never had a chance to talk to Dante – or even Lulu, who could have warned him of the dangers of being smitten with the Super Model. *rme*

Unfortunately for Suzanne Stanwyck, all roads lead to her as the one connection to The Balkan everyone missed the first time. I am glad the writers took the time to answer so many of the questions many of us had, but I’ve gotta say…let’s follow this road to Brenda and the bat cave and let’s get this over with! For way too long, all roads in Port Charles have led to Brenda and The Balkan, and most of us are ready to get off this choo-choo! I will be thrilled when this is all behind us! As for Suzanne, she better hope her hubby is half as sentimental about her as he is about their son. It might be the only thing that can save her.

All roads lead to some kind of conclusion in this nightmare with The Balkan. By next week, we should see most of our favorites moving on from this dark cloud that’s been hanging over them.

However, right behind the dark cloud comes The Storm.

My goodness, but emotions are rolling all over the place like thunder, and people’s feelings are lighting up the web like lightning. The promo for next week has everyone taking sides on what’s coming even before it plays out. I get it. Even the thought of a child being killed in an accident is horrifying and makes people sensitive.

I just want to make sure that we all remember one thing. It may sound silly to even point it out, but my friends, this is a soap. A fictional story that plays out on our screens for an hour everyday – meant to distract us from our daily lives. The little boys who play Jake are going to be at spending more time at home, and they will be loved and cared for, just as the little girls who are no longer playing Emma will be. I know no one wants to think about anyone losing their jobs in this economy, but whether they are killed off or aged, or sent off to boarding school, it’s the same for every actor who is no longer needed on set. I just want to make sure we realize that.

The other thing is that many of us are concerned about how this will affect Jason and Sam, and their future. I’ve read so many of your emails and DM’s and I’ve really thought about it. When I think  about what the other side is saying about it – which this week is that Jake is being killed off for the possibility of a JaSam baby, I stop and think again. Just a few weeks ago, before the rumors of this storyline broke out, the other side was upset that Jason and Sam could have a baby while Jason had never been a father to Jake. Months before that, they were upset that Jason had chosen Sam over his son. Months before that, they were outraged that Jason was even speaking to Sam. Months before that….

You get the picture, don’t you?

And you know what?

We could trace this stupid battle all the way back to the Summer of 2006 when the writers started this, and we’d find one campaign after another where people are bitching about what Jason and Sam “got”. We aren’t going to put an end to that, even if we could miraculously “Save Jake”, right along with the other fanbase. Next week it will be something else. They are never going to accept that Jason and Sam are the couple the writers are writing for, and that they are in love, and that they have always loved each other.

Who the hell cares?

Am I enjoying Jason and Sam less just because they are ranting and rambling on like Shady Brook escapees?

NO!

Did I enjoy their reunion in Mexico less, or any of their love scenes, because the other side was blacking out GH?

GOD NO!

Will I ever let the rants and ramblings of a group of people who cannot separate reality from fiction ruin anything that I enjoy onscreen on my favorite SOAP?

You know the answer.

I don’t care if they cry ’til the cows come home. Nothing our couple does or “gets” is ever going to be okay with them, so why let it affect us?

None of us wrote the terribly sad story of Jake’s accident, just like we didn’t write the devastating story of Sam’s baby’s death days before she was to be born! Those things are beyond our control. All we can do is support our couple, surround them with love and happy thoughts, and enjoy whatever good things come their way.

We’ve earned it, dammit!

Let’s not waste a moment worrying about negative reactions from negative people. It’s all they know. What have I always said?

“Whatever You Put Out There Always Comes Back To You.”

I believe Liz calls it “KARMA.”

It’s the law of nature.

Stay positive, JaSammers.

Then sit back and enjoy whatever comes our way, no matter what they say.

Looking forward…

Angelique

WHAT’S IMPORTANT…

Click to view full size imageJason was right. Certainly Christmas is a time to reflect and take in What’s Important. The holiday season is a time for recognizing all of the gifts that don’t come wrapped and can’t be returned.

I thought that yesterday’s script writer, Michele Val Jean, did a great job of reminding us all of that after what seemed like a very long year towards the end there.

Since VMG’s return, it seems that Port Charles had become extremely Breda-centric and it was hard for us to connect with our favorites…favorite characters, favorite couples, favorite traditions. Yet, in one fell swoop, MVJ managed to write an episode that did it all. That’s What’s Important – having a writer who knows our characters well enough to write them in a way that would bring us all back to happier times.

I have to say, that I was worried about Luke and Tracy’s wedding. Certainly they are no Luke and Laura, and certainly, their love story is not as obvious or as storied as Luke and Laura’s, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not What’s Important to Luke in this stage of his life. I mean, if not for Tracy’s love and support, Luke may have very well drunk himself to death years ago. If not for the challenge she presents to him, Luke may have met his demise much sooner by chasing a high-stakes scam somewhere and feeling he had nothing to come home to. I was worried that because of the fact that Luke and Tracy are not Luke and Laura, that their wedding would seem less significant to the history of General Hospital. Yet, with Ms. Val Jean at the desk, my worries were unnecessary. I thought the entire wedding story, from Luke with his sons, to Tracy with Lulu and Maya, was sweet and so very true to the characters. That too is What’s Important. Sure Luke is a scoundrel and Tracy is an Ice Queen, but together, they work. Their vows were beautiful and sweet, while still a bit comical, and truly – I got a little teary.

The other thing Port Charles’ wedding of they year managed to do was to bring many of our favorite characters together in one room. I love group scenes. Of course, the one “miss” for me was that Monica was not there to be her cynical self, but other than that, it was nice to have so many together. Connections in Port Charles are What’s Important to so many of us, and I hope for many other occasions that give us the opportunity to enjoy them more often.

Family is also What’s Important, and I am so glad that Robin seems to be coming around to that realization. I am thrilled that she is allowing Patrick to come home for Christmas, even if he must sleep in the guest room. Emma will have both her parents, who love her and each other, together in one room, and that’s wonderful. I’m a strong believer that once parents stop loving or at least liking each other, they should spare their children the awkward moments and tense conversations, but that’s not the case with Robin and Patrick. They do love each other and being together on Christmas will help create another beautiful set of memories for their precious Emma. That’s definitely What’s Important to that little one.

I love that Stone Cold Jason Morgan seems to be clearer and clearer on What’s Important to him. In his very own words, that to Jason, is Sam McCall. Jason has been all over the place as of late. He’s consumed by his need to play protector to everyone and he is committed to doing his job well. That’s definitely What’s Expected of Jason, but the beauty of his relationship with Sam has always been that she has always propelled him past what’s expected, required, and needed from him and shown him What’s Important. You know – love, joy, happiness. More than that, Sam showed Jason that acceptance was always something much more important to Jason than he dared to admit. I know Jason has used this phrase more than we care to hear, but Sam did change Jason’s life. She taught him that he is enough, and even more. Sam led Jason to believe that he was everything she ever wanted, and she hasn’t stopped doing that. That moment when Jason whispered, “Whatever you want,” and Sam grabbed him and said, “I’ve got what I want,” and kissed him, was a classic JaSam moment, and it made my heart grow two sizes! When you believe that you are everything someone else wants out of life, it puts a spring in your step and a smile in your heart, and it makes you realize What’s Important in Life. Thank you, oh Fairest Samantha!

I love that in one scene we have Brenda barking about family to Jason, and in the next scene, we see Sam walking in after Jason called her. MY BFF Ro and I were on the phone for a couple of hours last night, and we were gushing about that scene for quite some time. You know you’ve got yourself a Supercouple when a less-than-2-minute scene can spark long conversations and make you think about things far deeper than what we saw onscreen. Jason called Sam because the word family makes him think of Sam.

😉

More than that, Jason’s wanting to get a tree was about far more than doing something fun. It was about making traditions with the one person who has been more of a family to Jason than anyone. Sam has loved Jason unconditionally, and believe me, when you’ve lived and loved based on nothing but conditions in the past, That Unconditional Love Sam offers, my friends, is What’s Important!

I hope you are all ready for the holidays…

I’m getting there.

 Much love,

Angelique

“What You Don’t Know”

I was a teen in the ‘80’s… when the Expose song, “What You Don’t Know” was a big hit. The lyrics of that song kept playing over and over in my head as I thought about today’s blog post.

You see, the song promises, “What You Don’t Know Won’t Hurt You”, but in the house where I grew up, my mom convinced us that “What You Don’t Know Will Not Only Hurt You, But Make An Ass Out Of You!”

While I loved the girls of Expose and danced away many a night at the clubs to their very danceable songs, I have to side with my mother on this one.

I just said yesterday that I was not going to be naive and wax poetic about Siobhan and how good she was for Lucky, because I knew the writers could turn that around on me at any time. It seems I am a bit of a clairvoyant, as just yesterday, they did just that. It seems Siobhan is working with someone else on this little plan she sold Lucky on. Siobhan was successful in getting Lucky right where she wanted him, and right where she could leave him – while she went off to meet with her other partner. I am still hoping that Siobhan will turn out to be a double agent for Interpol, and that Lucky won’t end up being duped…again. Yes, Lucky, what you don’t know WILL hurt you.

Ethan and Maya decided to stay married mainly for the cool million Edward promised them. At times, not even the million seemed worth it to Maya, but I believe Edward managed to convince them that his motives for paying them to remain married far outweigh the impropriety of it all. I also think he managed them to try harder to make it work. Maya and Ethan, what you don’t know about Edward might just be a good thing in your case!

Carly has said more than once that the minute Sonny knew Dante was his son; Dante immediately became his favorite son. Dante is, after all, Sonny’s biological first born son, and Sonny really liked him even when Dante was Dominic. I think we could all agree that Sonny has definitely shown just how favored Dante is in Sonny’s eyes. I mean, if I found out that Dante had covered up a murder to protect Brenda and even got rid of the body, my reaction would have been much different than Sonny’s. I would have thrown his hypocrisy in his face, considering Dante’s refusal to cover up for his younger brother in the same, exact situation as Brenda’s cost Michael his innocence and changes him forever. But not Sonny. Sonny didn’t even seem to connect the two. In fact, he seemed almost thankful for how Dante had worked to protect Brenda. All I can come up with in defense of Sonny is that it must be the medication he’s taking for his BPD. *shrugs* I wonder what Sonny’s reaction will be when he finds out about this “big secret” that Dante and Brenda are keeping about their personal involvement. I wonder what it would have been if Sonny had tripped upon Dante while he was making drunken confessions about his past with Brenda. Oh, Sonny, what you don’t know will PISS YOU OFF!

Which brings to mind Dante’s purposely kept-in-the-dark girlfriend, Lulu. The poor girl sings Dante’s honorable praises all over town to whoever will listen. Lulu trusts Dante. Fully and completely. Lulu even felt badly about her distrust of Dante, and yet…she is still being lied to. That is just wrong. Lulu wrapped up a perfect opportunity for Dante to tell her the truth and he still only chose to give her the breadcrumbs of that Italian Hero Secret he’s hiding from everyone…well except for Brenda, and now Michael. When I watch Lulu cluelessly beaming at her family, I am reminded that people have tried to tell her to be careful and to tread carefully, but she just doesn’t want to hear it. Ummm, Lulu, what you don’t know will TOTALLY make an ass out of you!

Here’s something you won’t hear often: Robin and I have something in common. Theo Hoffman has completely managed to worm his way into Robin’s heart, just because “there’s something about him.” Did we not all think that he was who we think he is, I would totally be a sucker for him too. Lonely elderly people break my heart. When I was a teen at one of my first jobs at 7-11, I nearly lost my job because my boss noticed that I never ever charged an old guy named Charlie for his daily coffee and buttered roll after his daily dialysis. I ended up having to give up half my measly little check, and from then on, I just added the coffee and buttered roll to my weekly expense sheet. In the end, it was worth it. Charlie would come by every day and chat with me while I cleaned windows, swept, and stocked shelves. He shared life lessons with me, and taught me the value of learning from the mistakes of others. And whenever I was called in to cover a late shift, he would come by the store and sit there to make sure I was safe, even though he barely had the strength to swat a fly, like Theo does so convincingly. It didn’t matter, Charlie felt important and needed, and I felt good about meeting that immediate need. That’s what Robin is doing for Theo Hoffman on a grander scale. Sure, he can afford to pay for his stay, unlike my old friend Charlie, but that’s not the issue here. Theo needs attention, or so it appears to Robin, and even though she may be “cheating” a little bit on her paperwork, she’s doing it for noble reasons, and I can totally get behind that. Unfortunately, what Robin, and the  rest of us,  don’t really know about Theo Hoffman has the potential to blow Port Charles apart!

What Jason and Sam might not know yet, has the power to make a lot of us very happy JaSam fans! Rumors are swirling that Sam will soon find out that she’s carrying much more than a miracle baby. A JaSam baby will have the power to bring healing to a wound that Sam has carried quietly for over six years. A baby has the power to finally give Sam and Jason what should have been theirs long ago. A baby will also have the power to erase the unfairness of Jason having had a baby that came out of a drunken, painful ONS. A baby would have the power to finally give Sam a reason to believe that sometimes good things really do come to those who wait.

What a baby does NOT have the power to do is make a relationship work. Jason and Sam already have that, and that is why we can be excited. This baby will not have to carry the burden of bringing two people together that don’t belong together. Jason and Sam have already proven that. All these months that we have been yelling advice at Sam, Jason and Sam have really been proving to us that they have learned a few lessons along the way. And while they still have some left to learn, this baby’s job will not be to bring them together against all logic…this baby will just be a living, breathing symbol of what Love can do. I am thankful that this baby didn’t come when Sam was desperate to fill a void, or when Liz was pregnant and some people wanted to even the score. Jason has already seen that a baby does not a working relationship make. It cannot make up for all the ways that two people don’t understand or accept each other. A baby doesn’t change who people inherently are.

However, when  Love is already the riving force behind a couple, and when understand and acceptance fuel the fires that burn in their hearts for each other, then a baby can change everything…for the better. When two people already share everything that is good and wonderful, a baby can only add to magic. A baby can bring even more laughter and simpler reasons to smile. A baby can give you a reason to finally get a bigger, more shimmering Christmas tree. And it can give you a reason to have Thanksgiving dinner around your own table. A baby can give you a different reason to have to be energized at night, and a sweeter reason for late night drives. A baby can give you a reason to keep a different kind of photo box, and to shove that old box of pain to the far corners of your closet…and to even forget it exists.

What Jason and Sam don’t know is already giving people something to talk about.

A baby…A JaSam Baby…can and will give us all a reason to smile.

I’ve been really sick, so by Thursday I thought I’d died and gone to JaSam Heaven when I saw them together for the 4th straight day! Either JaSam Heaven, or back in time to 2005!

I’m glad to report that I’m still alive, and celebrating a full week of JaSam right along with you all!

I’m sorry for not posting Thursday or Friday…oh how I tried, my friends! I was a mess! I will tell you I’m all caught up on GH now, and one of my favorite scenes was this one:

And my favorite line of the week, scratch that – my favorite line of the YEAR was “Baby, that’s what this is for!”

This week, I have a confession. As much as I tried, I just did not have the energy to sit up and search for the vids, so my Beloved Karina did all the searching and picking. It’s actually scary how much we are alike, as she picked vids from all of my favorites!

And…that’s what this Sunday Drive is for, isn’t it? To share our favorites! So…off we go! We’re guessing vidders were inspired because we found an abundance of Love, Romance, and Action in this week’s selections!

We Gather Together…For The Second Time

Happy Black T-shirt Friday, GHers!

I actually remember last Thanksgiving and titling my blog post that day We Gather Together. I still also remember how excited I was because my blog was still so new, and it was the first time I had seen so many hits! Here we are a year later, and we all gathered together once more to watch the families of Port Charles come together. Our blog family has grown by leaps and bounds, but as I watched GH, I realized that our TV families have grown as well, and I really love the connectedness that the writers are going for.

Take a look at the Quartermaines. The Q’s are the staple of a Port Charles Thanksgiving! WIthout them and their pizza feast, it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving. Something would most definitely be amiss. The writers made sure to bring them together (though I missed Monica terribly) and they also extended their family ties. Not only was Maya, a Ward, there, but the now affianced Luke Spencer was part of the family festivities, and by extension, so were his children, Lucky, Lulu, and Ethan. Add to that the significant other of Luke’s children, and we got Dante and Siobhan added to the list, and finally…a reason for Edward to smile. Michael came to Thanksgiving dinner as well. What a day of thanksgiving!

Another family growing by leaps and bounds was the Davis Girls’ clan! With our precious Molly away visiting her dad, Ric, Alexis expected only three place settings for her and her girls. Kristina explained that Diane needed a Thanksgiving table to sit down to, and therefore, so did Max.  Then came Spinelli, who nearly fainted at the sight of his Maximista. Then finally Mac, because what Alexis didn’t know was that our resourceful Sam had been to visit Robin, and then Maxie to make  sure that Uncle Mac made it to Thanksgiving dinner at the Lake House. Those were some nice moments between Alexis and Mac. When finally things seemed to be going splendidly, Dr. Matt Hunter arrived and stole Spin’s seat, and very nearly Spin’s beloved. This is where Sam reminded me of how loyal she is…Sam got up and with help and cooperation from Kristina and Max, saved the day, and Spin’s heart.  (Perhaps Spinelli can learn a lesson (or two or three) from his good friend, Sam)

😉

It too some finagling, but the cute Drake family was also able to be thankful together at Robin’s bedside. Finally, both Mr. and Mrs. Drake were able to share some smiles instead of tears, and with the beautiful Emma there with them, they were reminded of just how much they have to be grateful for, instead of focusing on all they have to be angry about.

Yes, it was definitely a feel good episode all around, and I am so very thankful for my soap!

I am also absolutely grateful for each of you. I cannot stress how much I am thankful for all you’ve brought to my life this past year! Every time I read a comment or get an email, or even a tweet, my heart smiles! You are all wonderful friends, and though we didn’t share a Thanksgiving table, I am thankful that each day we come together and share our thoughts and our highs and lows about our favorite fictional people and places!

Thanks again for being there!

I love you all…

Angelique

“I Love The Way You Lie”

Morning, GHers!

Isn’t it funny that sometimes the people we care about can look us right in the face and lie through their teeth? Funnier still is that sometimes, even when we know they’re lying, we have to take a step back and say, “Wow. I’ve gotta hand it to you. That was good. Maybe even convincing.”

As viewers of our favorite soap, we watch the lies building up, and hear them come tumbling out of people’s mouths daily. Sometimes, even when we hate the lie and love the liar or love the liar and hate the lie, we find ourselves thinking as we watch, “I love the way you lie.”

Some people are that good…or that bad.

Siobhan, I love the way you lie. I’m not sure what Siobhan is lying about, but I know she’s lying about something. I just hope it’s not something that can hurt Lucky. I love to see Lucky smiling from his heart again. He’s a good guy when he’s not being judgmental, and deserves some happiness. I seem to think there a few clues peeking out at us, or they could just be my suspicious nature. For instance, the other day, Siobhan told Lucky that maybe she should be the one guarding him. Hmmm, maybe she already is. Whatever she’s hiding, I hope she was lying for all the right reasons…

Carly, I love the way you lie. In Carly’s mind, she’s not lying when she tells Michael and Jason that she’s not going after Dante. In her mind, Karma is catching up. Never mind that she’s done all the footwork, investigating, and case building for Karma. And I guess the fact that she drew Karma a map and drew a big, red arrow for Karma to find Dante with shouldn’t matter. People are just supposed to believe that Carly had nothing to do with Dante’s downfall. I have to say that there is absolutely no sarcasm when I say that in this case, I love the way she lies!

Dante, I love the way you lie. I also love the fact that the more you lie, the more you’ll have to answer for when your lies come crashing down on you! If there is one characteristic I cannot stand in a person, it’s hypocrisy. Dante is a MASTER HYPOCRITE. He does it so well. I mean, how do you convince yourself that what you did to Michael – what you cost your brother and can never give back – all the while knowing that you covered up a murder for a woman you barely knew is justified? How does he do it and still have the nerve to look himself in the mirror? When Dante had that conversation with his father, I had to marvel at the way Dante keeps piling up the lies. And if there’s a person who will use someone else’s lies to justify his own misdeeds, it’s Sonny. Dante also lied to Lulu on a night she was begging for honesty. How much more his truth will hurt her when it finally comes out. Karma is a BITCH, and with Carly on her side – I’d run fast and far if I were Dante.

Sonny, I love the way you lie…to yourself. You really believe that Brenda’s entire world and past were all about you. As if for the past eight years since she’s been gone, Sonny has been all about Brenda. Umm, when you were marrying, divorcing, marrying, and divorcing Carly, Brenda was a non-issue. As if there was no Sam, Reese, Emily, or Kate after Brenda? Yet, Sonny tells Dante that he doesn’t get why Brenda didn’t call him the minute her feet touched American soil back in 2007. Sonny, please! Perhaps if he were a little more honest with himself he’d be able to admit that Brenda wasn’t all about him while not in his orbit. Then maybe he’d be able to see that his son is lying about the history he shares with the one and only Brenda. I cannot wait ‘til that truth shoots Sonny like a bullet right between the eyes.

Claire I love the way you lie…also to yourself. It must be the one thing the women Sonny sleeps with get out of their relationship when he tosses them to the curb like yesterday’s recycling. They all learn one of Sonny’s worst habits of lying to oneself. Claire is not just lying to everyone else about how professionally she handled the assignment to bring Sonny down, she is also lying to herself. Nothing Claire has done has been in the interests of upholding, enforcing, respecting, or even representing the law. If Claire thinks for one second that her motives for everything she’s done while on this case are not completely transparent, she’s nuts. I am happy that Alexis, who once lied to herself as well in order to sleep with Sonny, was there to point Ms. Walsh in the right direction. Unfortunately, it seems that someone will have to drag Claire towards the right direction. Let’s just hope it’s not in a body bag or a straight jacket, as that has been the way most women end up leaving Sonny’s world.

Luke, I love the way you lie. The lies come tripping off his tongue almost as smoothly as a poem. How do you ever trust anything that comes out of Luke’s mouth when you know his history of lying like a rug? I would think that for a woman like Tracy Quartermaine, loving a man like Luke is torture. Do I believe that Luke really cares about Tracy? Yeah, I do, but mostly I think Luke loves the life style Tracy’s money can help maintain.  In another rush of B.S., Luke tells Tracy that “they are rich in what matters: Love, respect, passion.” And they “may get cranky and bitch and complain, but neither one of us would change a thing.” He wants to “cut to the chase and get married.” I loved Tracy’s equally sentimental approach to Luke: “No pre-nup, no nothing.” LOL.

Spinelli, I love the way you lie. I may not love much of anything that Spin has done or said since Brenda’s arrival in PC, but I do love the way he worked the frazzled Maximista. Women like Maxie, who had the opportunity to cheat on, be forgiven, loved and adored by, and then walk away from, someone like Spin, are able to do it because they know they can. And they usually know they can, because they’ve tried it and gotten away with it. As long as Maxie thinks that Spin can be won over and reminded that she is his number one, she feels free to go on about her life without even a worried brow. BUT, the second Maxie feels threatened by the possibility that she may be replaced in Spin’s life, she is overwhelmed by the need to be NUMBER ONE again. It seems that Spin has finally figured it out, and has decided to use the information to his advantage. While Spin certainly didn’t tell any untruths, he may have slightly exaggerated his “smittenness” with the Disastrous One, and it earned him some “lips.” Listen, I would rather have Spin singing the praises of Maxie ANY DAY before hearing one more bit of delusional prose dribbling from his lips about Brenda.

Michael, I love the way you lie in order to protect yourself and the ones you love from the terrible truth that haunts you. But the reason I love it is because it’s going to help someone figure out that something’s wrong, and hopefully it will be someone who’s not afraid to hear the truth. Michael is completely terrified of anyone figuring out what happened to him at Pentonville. Not only is Michael trying desperately to bury those memories, he is determined to keep anyone else from trying to dig them up. When his reaction to Abby was sheer terror that she may have figured it out, I really, really felt for Michael. I believe that it may take some more awkward moments, and even some misunderstandings, but I believe Abby may be the only one that can help Michael get to a place where the possibility of addressing what happened won’t send Michael into a tailspin – probably not the best choice of words in this situation.

Jason you are my exception. I cannot stand the way you lie to yourself over and over about what you are able to take care of. You want to take care of Brenda and keep her safe. You want to take care of Carly and keep her from destroying those she loves, and ultimately destroying herself in the process. You want to take care of The Balkan, and solve crimes that you or your organization didn’t commit, and you want to watch over the city of Gotham, I mean Port Charles, like an Un-caped Crusader, without even the help of a sidekick. Most sad to me is that you even think you can take care of Fair Samantha and the relationship you swear means the world to you, all while taking care of everything and everyone else. Why must the weight of the world be on your shoulders? I mean, listen, I know your shoulders are oh-so-broad, and oh-so-strong, and OH-SO-SEXY, but really, why must you be the Superhero for everyone? Why is it that you can give such wise, and sound advice to everyone around you and yet not hear yourself talking? You told Michael to stay on the path, to not worry about Carly or the choices she makes, and to live his own life. Hmmm. Yet, Sam has consistently and quietly taken a back seat to every choice not only Carly has made, but also the choices Sonny, Michael, Morgan, Josslyn, and now Brenda make. I am surprised that Jason doesn’t get a call or text whenever Josslyn, his godchild, decides she doesn’t want to eat strained green beans. Certainly Jason has given Carly permission to do just that. And it’s no wonder that Brenda feels justified in calling The Penthouse “our house” when those awful pink things are still littering the place, and people come to visit her Divine Dullness at their leisure, as if Brenda did in fact own the place. And what will keep Brenda from calling Jason away from Sam the next time he’s holding her, or kissing her, or getting naked with her, when Jason allowed Brenda to call him home just so that she could throw a 5 year-old tantrum and have someone to witness it? And Jason didn’t even tell her that the next time she called him for NOTHING, he would have Carly come babysit her ass! Jason lied to Sam when he said this will be over soon, because the truth is that The Balkan hasn’t even come to town yet, so the danger threatening his beloved Sam and the life they both want, is Jason himself, and his inability to stop being the savior.

I know some of you are worried about how Sam will be hurt if Jason once again chooses Brenda over Sam, but I have to say that sometimes we have to be hurt in order to avoid a life of pain. If that’s what it takes for Sam to draw the line in the sand, or if that’s what it takes to cure Jason of his complex, then we must all wish for it to come, and come quickly. We should welcome a smackdown of Jason’s ego, because he doesn’t even think he has an ego problem. We should look forward to Jason feeling as though he’s lost everything, because only then will he value what he’s had all along. We should keep our fingers crossed for Sam to finally see that accepting Jason doesn’t mean that she has to accept being hurt or undervalued. Wanting to be a priority in the life of the person who claims to love you and need you shouldn’t be something that makes you feel selfish. When you want to spend the rest of your life with someone it’s important to teach them how to treat you. (Thanks, Dr. Phil!)  Letting people know what we need is one of the greatest gifts we can give them, and ourselves.

I didn’t include Sam on my list because I don’t think Sam is lying to herself. You can only lie when you know something else to be true. I don’t think Sam has realized that there is another truth yet. For all of us strong, empowered women who sometimes get impatient with Sam, let’s remember what gave us the power to be strong and empowered. Life experience. It teaches everyone something different. Sam hasn’t had many experiences where she learned that she had value, and should demand to be valued, without the fear of feeling selfish, or the fear of losing people. She has learned that she won’t ever allow herself to be mistreated or abused, but what we want her to do is another step in that direction of knowing one’s value. She’s not there yet, but let’s be patient.

I think that whatever comes next for Jason and Sam, they will both learn some new things. And that’s ALWAYS a good thing in a relationship.

Hold on…

Angelique

WHAT WE DIDN’T GET

All caps courtesy of gh-caps.net

Wwwhhhaaaaaaaaaattt a day Tuesday was, huh?

😉

Happy Hump Day, GHers!

Well, it seems that the scenes most of us were expecting did not pan out. Rather than try and start out by telling you what we did get, I decided to jump right in and go ahead and tell you what we didn’t get.

Yup, that’s right. You read it correctly.

I’M GOING TO TELL YOU WHAT WE DIDN’T GET YESTERDAY.

First of all, allow me to say that Mr. Jonathan Jackson and his band, ENation, has definitely got some major talent. The song, “Eyes of Grace” was just beautiful. I wonder how it felt to Jonathan to hear his song playing on the set of his show for the first time. My most sincere congratulations go out to JJ! Good for him!

I tweeted yesterday morning after hearing the song on YouTube, that I thought the song was beautiful, but haunting. While I watched the montage set to the song, I was even more convinced of its haunting qualities.

In case you haven’t really had a chance to hear the lyrics, here they are:

EYES OF GRACE

Watch the city lights
As they shine
Watch the shadows crawl
On the ground tonight
I’ll give you anything you want
Just give me everything I need

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

Watch the rain drops cry
I’ve got nothing left but you tonight
I’ll give you everything I am
Just give me every part of you

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

I know what I used to be
I know what I used to think
I know what I could be
Without your love in me
I know the things I used to say
I know the things I used to do
I know what I could be
Without your love in me

See me through the eyes of grace
See me through the cross of love
See me not for what I was before your love in me
I could set your soul on fire
I could give you sweet desire
I could make your spirit sing with my, my love in you
I could set your soul aflame
Make you tremble at the name
I can make you who you are with my, my love in you

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

I’ll give you anything you want
Just give me every part of you Watch the city lights
As they shine
Watch the shadows crawl
On the ground tonight
I’ll give you anything you want
Just give me everything I need

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

Watch the rain drops cry
I’ve got nothing left but you tonight
I’ll give you everything I am
Just give me every part of you

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

Don’t leave me now
Don’t fail me now
You’re all I see
You’re everything

I know what I used to be
I know what I used to think
I know what I could be

Like I said, BEAUTIFUL.

The song made the montage feel like a momentous occasion, didn’t it?

And yeah, we didn’t get Jason and Sam in the montage either, but we’ll get back to that in a few.

Back to What We Didn’t Get….

We didn’t get to see Jason and Sam get rid of everyone so that they could rip each other’s clothes off, like Carly and Jax did. We didn’t get to see them try to cover up their fears by engaging in the act of making love, and we didn’t get to see them avoiding even saying the name “Brenda” because one if afraid of what that name brings up for the other. (Though I do wish Jason and Sam could avoid saying her name because she was finally out of their lives) We didn’t get to see Jason and Sam have to issue threats to the people they thought were out to steal the person they love, as Carly did with Brenda, and as Jax has done with Sonny countless times, and I am completely elated about that.

Click to view full size image

We didn’t get to see Jason and Sam pick a song to listen to, and we didn’t get to see them dancing – something they make so special each time they do it. We didn’t get to see them holding each other, wondering who the other one really was, like Lucky and Siobhan did. You see, while Lucky and Siobhan feel some kind of connection, and while they feel protective of one another, neither really knows anything about the other. In fact, none of us really knows who Siobhan is. While Lucky and Siobhan may be able to dance away the night, and make out in the alley, they are not able to go to sleep feeling as though they know exactly what they have in the other person. So, no, we didn’t get what Lucky and Siobhan got, and I am so thankful we didn’t.

We didn’t get to watch Jason and Sam roll around in the bed among paper bills and cards, while riding out the effects of lots of champagne. Hell, we didn’t even get to see Jason shirtless, the way we saw Ethan! We didn’t get to watch Jason and Sam enjoy sex in a relationship built on nothing else except for drunken mistakes, and mutual attraction. We also won’t get to see Jason and Sam wake up from a “Night of Passion” only to realize that reality is very different outside of Vegas. Darn. We didn’t get to see Jason and Sam get married. We also won’t get to see them struggle with trying to get out of it the way that Ethan and Maya will, and boy, am I happy about that!

We didn’t get to see Jason and Sam struggle to be in the same room together the way Patrick and Robin did. We didn’t get to watch Jason try to care for Sam while she is rigid with anger and resentment, and can’t even accept a cup of water without feeling like it’s too little too late. No, our couple didn’t get any scenes where they both look and feel suffocated by the aftershocks of infidelity. We also won’t wonder if Jason and Sam will ever get over the person they love most sleeping with someone else, the way Patrick and Robin have to wonder, and am I ever grateful they don’t!

We didn’t get to see Jason and Sam sit on the couch long enough to pour some wine and chat for more than a couple of minutes. We also didn’t get to hear Jason tell Sam that he “wanted to get laid,” the way Dante told Lulu. (Thank you, Karen Harris!) We didn’t get to see Jason trying to get in Sam’s pants, and we didn’t get to see them making out. We didn’t get to see them sharing a bed in the middle of the night, like Dante and Lulu. We also didn’t get to see Jason leave Sam’s side in the bed to go to the window to think about another woman, the way Dante did, while Lulu slept cluelessly, and I am so relieved we didn’t!

We didn’t even get to see Sam during the montage! I mean, okay – Jason went running back to The Penthouse at Brenda’s beck and call only to hear her screeching and bitching and moaning and nagging him about where he’s been, and about what he HAD to do, but during the montage, couldn’t we have seen Sam at the window, on the couch, throwing darts of a magazine ad of Brenda? I mean Jason was in the montage even though he was alone. We got to see him feeling defeated and disgusted with his situation! And Brenda was also alone, but we got to see her! We got to see her sitting at the table, and while she is in the middle of everyone’s life (and everyone’s storyline), and while she is in the center of the universe of just about every man in Port Charles, we saw Brenda sitting there alone, without even a person to make strange faces at, because though Jason was in the room – he was lost in a sea of frustration and regret. No, we didn’t even get Sam during the montage, but we also didn’t see Sam regretting her choices, or wondering about what she’s doing stuck in a situation she doesn’t want to be in. I am thrilled about that, and you should be too.

I’ll tell you what we did get.

Click to view full size image

We got three minutes and 2 seconds of Jason and Sam, but more substance than those who got double the screen time.

We got Jason going to look for Sam, on her turf, in her apartment.

We got Jason asking if he could “come in” because Jason finally “got” that he’s lost some footing in Sam’s life, and needs to earn his way back in.

We got to see Jason and Sam so on the same wavelength of knowing that things aren’t as good as they could be between them, that they were both bursting at the seams to say the very same thing. (How cute was that?)

We got to see Jason tell Sam that while there are things about Brenda’s convoluted life he can’t tell Sam, he HATES keeping secrets from her! Thank you for saying that Jason!

We got to see Sam tell Jason that keeping things puts up walls between them, and we got to see Jason be truly sorry for that, and reassure Sam that he loves HER.

We got to see Sam tell Jason that loving and accepting him means she isn’t expecting him to change who he is, and we were reminded that Sam has been the one person to give Jason unconditional love, while expecting nothing in return.

We got to hear yet another version of Jason and Sam’s song, instead of the montage song, reminding us that Jason and Sam are a SuperCouple. WITH THEIR OWN SONG. And their song reminds us to be hopeful about their future. Sure the ENation song was beautiful and haunting, but I’m glad that JaSam (as a couple) aren’t haunted. Only Jason was in the montage song…in the same room with Brenda…because he is already haunted by how his decision to help Brenda had affected the most important person in his life. I think it was also a preview of just how haunting every single one of these choices will be down the road.

We got a couple whose time together is about more than sex, or making out, or getting laid. *rolling my eyes* Jason and Sam spent each moment reassuring each other, encouraging each other, reinforcing the foundations of their relationship…

Click to view full size image

We got a couple with a relationship that has learned a lesson or two, that has lived through devastating loss, and is trying hard to avoid the same pitfalls and traps of the past.

We got a couple that is content in loving each other, holding each other, and enjoying the moments they have together. That in itself is a beautiful thing.

We got a few more reminders of why Sam is everything to Jason…and that he always counts on her. We also got a sweet, sweet kiss.

Click to view full size imageWe also got an opportunity to wonder what would happen if the person he always counts on is no longer there.

We, my darling JaSammers, got the foundation for a compelling, thought-provoking, life-changing storyline for our couple. Something bigger than a mere montage could tell.

And once I’d gotten over the silly expectations I had set for our couple based on what I thought everyone else got, I realized that what we did get was much bigger, better, deeper.

We got the introduction of the next chapter of JaSam’s Love Story, while just about everyone else got a glimpse of what could be the end of theirs.

I am beyond delighted.

Aren’t you?

Angelique

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY

November 17

2004: http://bit.ly/a9QScA Jason truly was Baby Lila’s father in EVERY way that counted! They experienced that loss together. Do you guys remember how our hearts swelled when Jason and Sam looked at each other after Father Coates said “if we took a moment to love each other”? *tears*

2005:  http://bit.ly/999ky1 I remember wanting to kill Jason myself for every moment that he spent with Carly while Sam was losing her mind with grief! But that reunion was worth it, wasn’t it?

2006: http://bit.ly/c9QsiX These scenes are CLASSIC JASAM ACTION! They are so good together! I loved the parallels between this year’s sweeps and the year before. In ’06, we had Jason telling Sam he wouldn’t leave without her, and in ’05, Sam had said those very words to Jason! The scenes with little Kristina were awesome!

2009: http://bit.ly/c11xA9 Jason’s right: he always counts on Sam.

I WANT TPTB TO KEEP BUILDING JASAM’S HISTORY, DON’T YOU? TELL THEM JUST THAT!

SUPERPOWERS

There are those in Port Charles that seem to have a clear advantage over others. Then there are those who seem to have nothing less than SUPERPOWERS when it comes to the things that we find so difficult to understand.

If Luke Spencer had a SUPERPOWER it would be PERSUASION. Over the years, Luke has managed to persuade many a beautiful woman to do many a different thing. Most impressive to me has been his ability to get these smart, beautiful women to fall in love with him! Laura, Felicia, Skye, and now Tracy! Now, Tracy may not want a cheap, crass Vegas wedding, and she may not want Luke to become Mr. Tracy Quartermaine again without a pre-nup, but she does love him, and she does want to be his wife. I don’t know how he managed it, but he did! Gotta give him props!

Dr. Lisa Niles already has the power to heal and repair the human body, but as far as her SUPERPOWERS go, hers is the UNBELIEVABLE ability to lie through her freakin’ teeth with a straight face and make people believe her. How lucky was she that the ONE thing she didn’t do was the one thing that made her look guiltiest, but may now make her look innocent of everything charged against her? This is why Lisa is so dangerous, because Robin makes Lisa’s job so much easier. If Robin were not constantly accusing her of something that she couldn’t prove, perhaps people would have a little more sympathy for Robin, and would hate Lisa (as they should). But because it seems that while Lisa made a mistake in having an affair with Patrick, she seems to have suffered enough – she had a nervous breakdown, and now Dr. Scorpio is accusing her of something every 5 minutes. Do you see how that works?

In the midst of that conversation with Lisa at Robin’s bedside, it seems that another SUPERPOWER was confirmed. Yes, friends it seems even more certain now that Cam Spencer’s special ability deals in pyrotechnics – as Cam seems to have a gift for sparklers and flames. It appears starting fires is a favorite pastime. How appropriate, since his mother’s SUPERPOWER is burning down people’s lives. I guess the matchstick doesn’t fall far from the matchbox.

😉

Sonny’s SUPERPOWER has always been to charm the legal briefs off of high-powered legal eagles and agents of the federal government charged with bringing Sonny down. I’m not really sure what it is about him or his arsenal of secret weapons (the dimples, the smile, the erratic control freak behavior) that gets to women most, but if you are a co-dependent by nature, stay the hell away from Sonny! Most disappointing to me was Claire Walsh, because I thought she was smart, far more calculating than Sonny, and NOT a co-dependent. I am saddened that a roll in the hay – even if it’s that good, would become more important to a career-driven woman like Claire than a stellar career. I just don’t get it.

It’s official. Brenda’s SUPERPOWER is to be as selfish as humanly possible, more self-centered than anyone I’ve observed, totally and completely clueless about the sacrifices others are making for her, and just a royal whining, get under my skin pain in the ass! How dare Brenda make a comment to Sam about her boyfriend “not being much a talker to begin with”? What the HELL does Brenda know about Jason and Sam’s personal life, or conversations for that matter? Unlike Brenda and Jason’s mind-numbing doldrums of constant bickering, Jason and Sam have built and rebuilt the trust they have in each other, the love they have for each other, and the beautiful love story they share together on a foundation of what they’ve learned about each other based on years and years of open and honest conversation, shared secrets and released fears. And for Brenda to talk about this not being any of Sam’s business, and attempting to laugh in Sam’s face while talking about personal boundaries, was just wrong! It made me want to rearrange her face anew and drag her out of The Penthouse by her mop! I want that BITCH gone! Yesterday!

Before I get into Jason and Sam, I want to say that Steve and Kelly truly do have SUPERPOWERS. It never ceases to amaze me that they can take each scene they get, whether 8 minutes long, or 2 minutes long, and turn it into an incredible display of talents, chemistry, and depth. They do it all the time! It must be the reason they are considered a SUPERCOUPLE even by the network that’s shy about the term. I really hope that you take the time to acknowledge them all the time – not only to TPTB, but to Steve and Kelly themselves via Twitter, Facebook, and snail mail! They deserve it!

Now as I move on to Jason and Sam, I have to say that they have their own brand of SUPERPOWERS. They fit nice and snug, they sizzle, they play, they work, they save the world together…then come home and love each other and take care of each other, and they do it all while being equally HOT, and looking equally GORGEOUS while doing it. Certainly there’s no confusion about their mass appeal. They are indeed ONE IN A MILLION.

What they are not, is more or less than human. They feel and have feelings, they hurt and get hurt, and they love and love deeply.

If LOVE were Sam’s SUPERPOWER, its capacity would be immeasurable, because it seems to grow and morph into what it needs to be at any given moment. Sometimes her love is selfless, and it waits patiently while Jason takes care of Carly or Brenda, or goes to prison to protect Michael. Sometimes her love is bigger than she is, and it seems to dwarf everything else, and Jason seems able to lose sight of every problem, crisis, or danger dogging him while he is in her arms. Sometimes her love is dangerous, and it propels her to kick the ass of men twice her height because they messed with her little sister. Sometimes her love is light and playful and allows her to play dress up, to jump into Jason’s arms, or to want to play in a bubble bath. Sometimes Sam’s love is fierce and protective, and it makes her warn people about getting the man she loves hurt. And sometimes Sam’s love is so longsuffering, that it makes those who love her, including some of us, shout things at her, and want her to do the things we would, even though not one of us could really imagine living the life she shares with Jason. I am happy that Sam’s love is also her guiding light, and not her anger or frustration, because she has followed her heart, and it has led her Home. To Jason and her one true love. Sam’s unconditional love has given Jason the power to accept love, without wondering what he’ll have to change or give up in order to be found worthy of it. That’s a SUPERPOWER if I’ve ever heard one.

And if Jason’s SUPERPOWER were also love, it would be strong and fit, powerful and brave. Jason’s love has proven it has the power to heal Sam – several times in fact. It had the power to lift Sam up and carry her back from total despair. It had the power to help rebuild the image Sam had of herself. Yes, Jason’s SUPERPOWER can swoop in and save the day, but sometimes Jason gives his love for Sam too much credit. Jason thinks that because he has been Sam’s superhero in LOVE, that she’ll be able to feel those SUPERPOWERS even when he’s playing superhero to everyone else so often that all she’s left with are the memories of that LOVE. Jason believes that he and Sam “are fine”, “because Sam knows that he loves her” (proving that sometimes being OBLIVIOUS can also be a SUPERPOWER) – and that must be enough to have the power to erase memories of mistakes and heartaches, to chase away reminders of how they grew apart, to squash fears of being replaced. It must also be enough to quiet the voices repeating some of the same, old assurances, making and breaking the same old promises, and whispering the familiar warnings. Jason believes that Sam knowing that he loves her will have the power to hold her when she’s scared, and that it will have the same affect as going after her when she’s walked out hurt and angry, and that it will speak when Jason is silent and tell her that there is no one in this world that he loves more. Perhaps if Sam had eyes in the back of her head, and could have seen the way Jason looked at her when Sam said yes, she had done things she was ashamed of, “but would scream it out at the top of her lungs” if it meant helping someone she cared about, perhaps then Sam would have felt the love and pride coming off Jason in waves, but she didn’t. So really, in this case, Jason’s SUPERPOWERS are well…POWERLESS.

And that’s just scary.

You know, the other day, our friend Jenn posted the lyrics to Beauty and The Beast and shared that the song reminded her of Jason and Sam at the beginning. Of course, we would all agree with Jenn that the gorgeous Steve Burton could never be considered a beast, but what Jenn didn’t know is that I have always wished for GH to have a Disney themed ball, and for Jason and Sam to go as Beauty and The Beast.

Why Beauty and The Beast? Yesterday was the perfect explanation.

Jason is no beast in appearance, but his romancing of Sam and the way he shows her what she means to him could use some work. Sometimes his insensitivities to her obvious pain, or his obliviousness to her heartache are just…BEASTLY. The Beast in the Disney Classic was also a handsome, sexy hottie, but it wasn’t until the beautiful brunette’s patience, unconditional, and unselfish love melted away the ice around his heart that the beast’s beastliness fell away. True love made him everything beautiful again! Sam’s true love for Jason has always accomplished the same thing. Watch our history clips today. Jason loves Sam. He is gentle and loving with her. He protects her from anyone and anything that is a threat to her. He enjoys her. He laughs with her. He cries with her and for her. He wants her. He desires her. He LOVES her.

I know that like the rest of the characters in the story, we want to give him pointers, we get frustrated with him, and even want to knock him in the head with a frying pan (STEPH!) But, I think that just as in the movie, our often Beastly Behaved Hero will have to almost lose it all, including his beautiful and undervalued heroine, in order to see what was there all along. (There may not be a Gaston on GH, but there is A Balkan and a Jerry Jax about to descend upon the eerily quiet ‘burb!)

And once the dastardly villains of our love story are dealt with, Jason and Sam’s Happily Ever After will truly begin to unfold.

So Especially for Jenn, and for those of us still ever-so-patiently willing to allow Jason some time to shed his BEASTLY habits for His BEAUTY and Belle, Sam, here’s a little surprise. Let it serve as a little reminder that no one makes patience more worthwhile than our very own…

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY

November 12

2004: http://bit.ly/9aFF92 Jason was totally in superhero mode here, and I loved the way he comes in and saves the day, and in the process, saves Sam from being swallowed up by sorrow.  *Tears* I will always love the way he was stroking her hand while she slept. He’s like a huge avenging angel at her bedside.

2008: http://bit.ly/aMGT9o And just like that – happy days were here again! Woo hoo! 😉 But I will tell you this…that Liz had SOME NERVE to come into Jason’s PH and ask, “What the hell are you doing with her?” Bitch, Sam never treated your ass like that when you were there ALL THE TIME and she and Jason were together! I’m so glad Liz got put out to the curb like yesterday’s trash!

2009: http://bit.ly/EMTj3  I thought these were FABULOUS in their entirety, but those last 20 seconds when Jason is worrying about where she’s gonna be and kisses her…*THUD* And when he says, “I’d like that”? *fans self* It gets me every time!

I WANT TPTB TO KEEP BUILDING JASAM’S HISTORY, DON’T YOU? TELL THEM JUST THAT!

BROKEN PROMISES AND SECRETS KEPT

What a day in Port Charles yesterday, huh? We should refer to it as Hurdle Day, instead of Hump Day, as there seemed to be sooooooo many hurdles to overcome. Things like Broken Promises and Secrets Kept…

Let’s see if we can’t get over them together, friends.

It seems that “What Happens In Vegas” is bound to happen again. Luke, Tracy, Maya, and Ethan awoke in their Vegas hotel room to a drunken nightmare. There was groping of the wrong people, hangover headaches, and strange bedfellows to deal with. I found myself laughing at those scenes, and really have to say that Luke and Tracy are no Luke and Laura, but they’ve definitely got their own kind of magic, and that’s being a barrel of laughs. I’ve gotta hand it to Tony Geary and Jane Elliott. They really make me believe that they are just having a blast, and I do enjoy their scenes quite a bit. Luke and Tracy managed to make it through their first Vegas night without becoming Mr. & Mrs., but the same cannot be said for Ethan and Maya. Perhaps the only thing missing on this trip was a designated sober person whose soul responsibility was to keep everyone from making important life-altering decisions while in a drunken stupor. So, now that we know who the real Mr. & Mrs. Spencer are, will there be broken promises and secrets kept in order to hide this little indiscretion? Only time will tell.

When I said yesterday that Lucky had left his luckless days behind, I wasn’t kidding! Not only has he left them behind, but I think he has totally become…worthy of his name! Not only did Siobhan stay without that much of a fight, she went and got herself a job, and she’s calling herself his “girl friend”, (not really, but that’s how the territorial Maxie heard it). I really, really love the dynamic between Siobhan and Lucky, but I also really, really love the dynamic between Lucky and Maxie. How many of you didn’t get a kick out of the scene where Maxie said to Lucky, “She smiled at me…SMUGLY, and told me she was in town because of a guy that she liked, and she wanted to see how things went.” What I loved even more was when she said, “Wait, hold on, so so this woman is really your girlfriend when you have been flirting with me this whole time?” Lucky: “We were flirting?” Maxie: “Oh, don’t act like you didn’t notice. We even kissed. Come on, Lucky. I know there’s no way I’m this easy to get over.” I love Maxie’s retelling of things for two reasons: It’s totally exaggerated, AND I think it helps stroke Lucky’s ego. Furthermore, I think it helps remind Lucky that he’s already done the rebound thing, and the destructive behavior thing, and knows what it felt like. Maxie represents the broken promises and secrets kept during a dark time in his life. Sure, they are totally over that, and in a really good place now, and yes – they did even kiss, but it confirms something important to Lucky. Siobhan may help Lucky erase some of the pain Liz and Nik rained down on his life, but it’s a bonus – not the reason he wants to explore things with her. And I think that’s great! I really did like the conversation between Nik and Lucky – from talking about Laura to talking about the betrayal. I love that Nik even said that maybe being with Liz was about replacing Emily, too. I loved that Lucky summed the whole thing up with saying that he and Liz had just outgrown each other. Both brothers undid themselves of her suffocating and toxic hold on their lives with just a few words. How great for them and their relationship! Lucky actually asked Nik for his opinion, and he listened to what Nik said. And best part? He didn’t agree, but he still listened. I am so thankful that this is one more relationship that shows signs of surviving the broken promises and secrets kept that have been Liz’s destructive M.O.

Carly and Jax are headed down that same slippery slope paved with broken promises and secrets kept once again. And also once again, not an ounce of innocence can be found between the two of them! I can give them both credit on at least trying to be good. I mean Jax doesn’t want to upset Carly or his marriage, so he’s trying to stay away from Brenda while getting information about Brenda from a third party – or in his case, it’s actually a fourth party. Carly is also trying, as she did try to go to Jax wit the information about Brenda and Dante first, so that she could justify investigating them further, but Jax didn’t want to hear it. So of course, when all else fails, just lie through your teeth, go back on your word, and do whatever you want – SECRETLY. *sigh* This is like watching a kid play with matches – or watching Cameron gaze longingly at flames. You just know someone’s going to get hurt, but there’s nothing you can do to stop it. I will say this: I have always loved Carly and John’s chemistry…so Jax better proceed with caution!

There was marked improvement in yesterday’s episode of GH, as there were actually several things I liked. However the true Beauty of GH for me was being surprised by seeing our Fair Samantha! Certainly the sun was shining again in Port Charles!

Now…we are about to tread some rising stormy waters on the subject of Jason and Sam, Broken Promises and Secrets Kept, so let’s take a moment and review the safety precautions:

  1. Let’s take it one step at a time; always assessing where we stand.
  2. Listen Carefully. Even in all the noise swirling around us, let’s remember to listen carefully to the important stuff.
  3. Hold on…and don’t let go, no matter what. The objective of passing through the stormy, murky waters is to come out on the other side – safely and TOGETHER!

Let’s take this one step at a time, friends, and assess where Jason and Sam stand. First, we know that either Sam and Jason spent the night together, or talked in the morning, because contrary to popular JIZ belief, Sam was not there behind Jason’s back or to get information he had withheld. She was there to try and help figure this out, and be a fresh set of ears and eyes FOR Jason. Furthermore, this quells any speculation that Jason using Brenda as her own bait was a SECRET. Jason shares everything that he’s involved in with Sam. She is his partner in life, and in work, and there are no SECRETS between them because he hasn’t kept anything he’s done from her, and vice versa.

Let’s listen carefully. Jason realizes that this is taking a toll on Sam and their relationship. The first thing he asked her was, “Are you okay?” which is a sign that they are still in tune with one another. As clueless as Jason can be, and yes, he is still clueless, they are still able to read each other, and that is a good sign. Another important thing here is that when Jason said he had some new information, Sam asked, “Can you tell me about it?” She didn’t say, “Tell me.” I think that’s important because it shows that Sam does recognize, even if it hurts her, that Jason may have been told something in confidence, and that he takes that very seriously. She may hate it – like we do, but she understands how Jason’s mind works. Jason keeps things in neat little folders in his mind. When it comes to work, he doesn’t allow the information he has collected to get all jumbled up together. I am happy that Jason is keeping a cool, even calculating head about this situation. He is investigating, gathering information, asking questions, and trying to get to the bottom of things.

When it comes to love, it’s a different story, which is why his reactions and his instincts were off when he was dealing with Michael’s drama, or when Sam was taken by Franco. Even though he is keeping his word, and technically not keeping a secret from Sam, because it is not his secret to tell, Jason knew the minute it came out of his mouth that it had hurt her, and that for Jason is hard to work with, and it is one of the reasons Jason once said he was afraid of what falling in love with Sam would mean. It’s hard to not share everything with the woman he loves. It hurt Jason to hurt Sam…again. That he immediately noticed he’d hurt her was also a good sign, especially since he hasn’t really been very good at picking up on the things that hurt Sam lately.

Finally, we need to hold on and not let go…no matter what. This too shall pass. There are so many haters out there, waiting like dogs for some scraps of negativity about our couple. I refuse to throw them any. It’s one thing to express our frustration and anger at Jason as the strong women we all are, but it’s another thing to start tweeting that JaSam is over, that they should be over, or anything else that gets those “female dogs” excited. As I tweeted yesterday, I will let the JIZ fans herald this as their BEGINNING OF THE END fantasy, but I will not feed the partygoers!

We feed them every time we put our momentary distress and temporary despair out there. Yesterday, there was a pending message from a coward who made up an email address that no long exists, so she could post a list of all the “TWEETS OF DESPAIR” these crazies with NO LIVES had taken the time to compile! I had to laugh. I mean, listen, I believe in my couple so much that I put my name on a blog where I celebrate their LOVE STORY daily. I’m loud and proud about JaSam. I don’t need to hide behind fake email accounts or twitter accounts to whisper about them. If they really believed in their pairing, I would think they’d stop hiding!

Don’t feed them, and let them look for scraps among themselves and their delusions.

When we look back at Jason’s life, and the times he has trusted his heart to someone, he always regretted it because in the end, it was the secrets he felt he had to keep that became insurmountable to them. Does no one remember Liz walking out on Jason when she found out he had kept Sonny’s being alive a secret? I guess the JIZ side has forgotten, but I haven’t. Courtney also couldn’t take the secrecy, so she would sabotage Jason’s work because she couldn’t trust what she didn’t know or understand. Until she too walked out.

Those were the things that made Jason afraid to let himself fall in love again. Until Sam. That is why I will never understand why any JaSam fan would endorse Sam walking out and doing the one thing she said she would never do, when Jason is doing the one thing he always said he’d do, and tried to warn her about. (1/11/05) All along, and through the years, Sam has proven true to her word that she understood that there would be some things, as long as they don’t directly involve Jason, that he couldn’t share. Until Brenda.

The truth is, my friends, that Sam has a kept secret herself. If Sam is hurt over this, it is because of their past hurts, and because of the near total destruction of any hope they had after Liz had Jason lying and keeping secrets about himself. After all, Jason and Liz’s farce of a relationship was built on lies and secrets and broken promises to others.

Of course because they’ve never addressed those issues, Sam is worried about the connection she thinks there is between Jason and Sam, but because she still hasn’t shared that with Jason, it helps feed his cluelessness.

Do I think that Jason should tell Sam? Absolutely! Does he owe her this after the number of ways she has supported him, been patient, and risked her life? You bet your ass!

But if we listened carefully, we heard that when Jason asked Brenda to share her secret, she said she wasn’t sure if she could trust him. Jason knew that secret could be the one thing keeping him from completing this latest Superhero Mission. And to a man who is in complete denial about having a Superhero Complex, he was willing to make any promise to get the “key” to possibly unlocking the great mysteries of this mission. Even if it meant giving Brenda his word, because to Jason it is ONLY a means to and end.

To Sam, it may seem like THE END of the road.

But to us…to those of us who survived the Summer Of Sleaze, The Disastrous ’07, and The Year of Boredom To Tears in ’08, this should just be a “rock in our shoe” along this amazing journey in the Greatest Love Story on Daytime.

We have to hold on for Sam! We have to not let go of the JaSam LOVE we fought for, hoped for, prayed for, and finally got back.

Don’t give in so easily. We’re made of better stuff than that! Let’s appreciate the angst that is not in the form of infidelities or ONSs, the way it’s written for other characters…

Let’s hold on, and not let go; NO MATTER WHAT!

Love you guys,

Angelique

NO MATTER HOW JUSTIFIED…

Happy Humpday, GHers!

Sometimes we find that no matter how justified we think we are, our decisions are still wrong, and the chances we take are just too risky and too costly for those around us. The same holds true for those in Port Charles.

Our older and wiser Maxie continues to surprise me from time to time. Sometimes, she sounds like she’s really growing up. She really did say to the self-righteous Robin what we have all been thinking for weeks! “If you push him away, no matter how justified you think you are, you might lose him forever. Is that what you want?” I really do hope that Robin takes some time to ponder that question carefully. So many of you have told me that you are so not okay with Robin being this hard on Patrick, even after everything he’s tried, because she seems to have forgotten that she too cheated on Patrick, and he forgave her “just like that.” I will tell you that knowing our Robin the way I do, she doesn’t even consider the two situations to be even closely related, because she was suffering from PPD at the time. That’s our Robin. I know that even as someone who doesn’t consider herself to be a big Scrubs fan, that sweet montage made me want them to work it out. I can only hope that remembering those moments for herself will do the same for Patrick, because I have a feeling that Robin really doesn’t want to lose him forever.

It turns out that Luke isn’t as good as he thinks he is, and Tracy is exactly as good as I thought she should be. Tracy knew all along that Luke was faking it. How fun! While Tracy is willing to admit that she loves Luke and wants to be married to him, she is not willing to do it blindly again. Luke, no matter how justified, continues to rely on lying and scheming in order to get Tracy back. How can she trust that? This time around, Tracy wants a pre-nup. Can’t say that I blame her.

It seems Ethan and Maya will take the trip to Vegas with them. Ethan after all, was the one to blow up his dad’s spot. What struck me was that Ethan didn’t seem able to go through with it after everything that has happened with Kristina. Ethan realizes that no matter how justified one thinks they are, faking a relationship is never okay. And there are almost always disastrous results. It seems all the young ‘uns in town are wising up…faster than the old ones.

Speaking of Kristina, it seems that her dear old dad has dodged another bullet thanks to having shot one more woman through the heart. Yes, Claire has worked against the federal government once more to ensure Sonny’s freedom. This disappoints me. Claire knows Sonny nearly killed his enemy and his daughter in a crazed fit of anger. Admissible or not, and no matter how justified Sonny thought he was, Claire knows that the law was broken – and not just the law against attempted murder, setting bombs, and murder for hire. Sonny also broke the laws of parental responsibilities and accountabilities. He just missed killing his own daughter! How can Claire, Brenda, Carly, and even Alexis excuse that so easily? How can Kristina? I just don’t get it. Yes, I know that it was a nice scene between Sonny and Kristina, but those are the scenes they should have when Sonny explains why he took away her credit card or her car, not why he almost murdered her! He is being allowed to walk away from this too easily, and I fear the lesson may be lost because of it. Perhaps Sonny should put Claire on retainer for all the work she is doing to guarantee his freedom….oh, but how I would miss the clever, refuses-to-be-intimidated Diane Miller! What a great role model for women everywhere! She is immune to the charm, the dimples, and the “little boy lost” crap that every other woman has fallen for! I love Diane! She was the silver lining in another dark day.

Lucky seems to have left his luckless days behind. Not only did a staged kidnapping exchange actually end well in spite of Brenda’s and Dante’s failures to follow directions, his girl is safe, and wanting to be kissed. How nice for Lucky! Even better is that his detective skills are improving, too! Lucky knows that something is off. The way Brenda reacted to the Balkan’s man was too emotional, and no matter how justified the killings were, Brenda, and subsequently Dante, forced a carefully planned exchange to become an uncontrolled shootout that could have cost Lucky his next chance at …well, getting lucky.

It could also have cost Lucky, Siobhan, or Jason their lives. Once again, Brenda makes a decision to cover her own ass at the possible expense of others. It infuriates me that Jason is still even helping her lying ass! Her and Dante should shack up somewhere or better yet – go on the run until they find a way to deal with the consequences of the murder and disposal of the body of the Balkan’s son! I just don’t think it’s fair that Brenda continues to withhold information from Jason that could potentially change the way the Balkan is playing the game, and could potentially put Jason’s life, or the lives of those he cares about, in grave danger. No matter how justified Brenda feels in keeping this big secret, when you keep a secret at the risk of hurting others, it’s just wrong on all levels. I don’t know what Brenda could do to redeem herself, and I hope that Jason realizes that ASEC or not, she is still as selfish and self-centered as ever! I also hope that Jason immediately sees what a “Ginormous” hypocrite that makes Dante.

I mean, really no matter how justified Dante felt in forcing Michael to trust the justice system when he did not, and still does not, is a blatant choice to hold others to a standard which he cannot even hold himself to. That is the very definition of hypocrisy. As if that’s not enough, Dante has decided to Mciadd bald-faced liar to his repertoire, as he told Lulu that there is nothing to hide about him and Brenda. Wow. Dante deserves everything that comes his way.

I wish I could say that I feel sorry for Lulu, but the youngest Spencer sibling turned her back and her loyalties on Jason faster than she turned the covers on Dante’s bed down. Jason has always been a friend to Lulu, and he helped her through every tough situation in which she has ever asked for his help. Lulu, no matter how justified being in love with Dante made her feel, was wrong when she threatened to go to the cops and spill everything she knew about Jason and Sonny, and when she kept the fact that Dante was a cop working within their organization a secret. She did it all for the love of Dante. How fitting that all the lies and deception tainting her perfect relationship were all done for the love of Brenda.

This is the one thing still saving Jason. I know many of us were concerned that Brenda asked him to keep a secret, but let’s be fair, and let’s take a step back. Most of us in a relationship would still not share a friend’s secret with our partner, because it’s not our secret to tell. Let’s not hold Jason to a higher standard just because we’re a little annoyed with him, and no matter how justified our annoyance is.

😉

Jason keeping Brenda’s secret is not the same as when he was keeping secrets WITH Liz. Dante is keeping secrets WITH Brenda – secrets that involve the two of them. Jason is not involved in Brenda’s secret, so it’s not his secret to tell. Big difference.

Now, with that cleared up, let me make clear that it still doesn’t erase the fact that we have some bones to pick with Jason. Jason needs to get this chick, whom he knows is still keeping something from him, out of The Penthouse! He needs to pawn her safekeeping off to the men in her life who care about her life in a different way…Sonny and Dante. They have shared more than friendship with Brenda in the past, and they should be the ones putting heir lives on hold for her. Jason should be making plans to keep one of the 725374 promises he’s made to Sam. He should be thanking her for all the ways she has stood by him and those he loves. He should be checking up on the installation of the sauna so that they could sit around and soothe their aching muscles together. He should be shopping (or at least have Spin cyber shop) for bubble baths and bath salts that smell like vanilla (9/28/05), so that he can dedicate a few days of uninterrupted cabin/island/remote island-where-no-one-can-find-them-time to the Love if His Life. He should be begging her to forgive him for all of the things he has allowed to come before her on his List Of StoneCold Priorities, no matter how justified they may have seemed.

He should, but he probably won’t. *sigh*

I am hoping that “The Talk” coming up for them will address some of our concerns, but more than anything, I hope it will provide them with an opportunity to “conceive a baby in so much love”…

Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed, and let’s share our JaSam Love with those who need to hear it most!

😉

By the way, in case you missed my tweets – last night I was watching Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC Primetime) and during a scene at a witness’s home, General Hospital was on. Who do you think was featured in the 5-second GH nod? Jason and Sam! It was the scene where (on the day he comes home from Pentonville) she’s standing in front of him in her pink corset and he’s on the couch! Tell me ABC doesn’t know who their stars REALLY are!

Take a look at the clip and celebrate with me: http://bit.ly/cpmwmT

LOVE IT!

Thanks for your love and dedication to our couple…you guys are awesome!

“Ask Me No Questions, And I’ll Tell You No Lies”…

GHers, we’d have a better chance of finding a needle in a haystack than finding an honest person in Port Charles among today’s players.

Thing is, they are all such good liars, that they have all adopted …”Ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no lies” as their personal code.

The only way to get truthful answers out of any of these people is to NEVER ask them any questions!

Luke Spencer lies like a rug! My goodness, he is milking this fake illness for all it’s worth! It got him back in to the Quartermaine Mansion, so at least one mission is accomplished, and it seems to have gotten him back into Tracy’s good graces, so I guess that’s another one he can check off his list. Knowing Luke the way we do, I’m sure that somewhere on that list is getting his hands on some of the Quartermaine cash, but he’s probably not going to rush that one…you know, he doesn’t want to show his hand before the time is right. I do love that Luke’s lies have brought the entire Q-Clan together. It’s great to see Monica, Edward, and Alice!

I’m not really sure what Lisa’s intentions were in going over to see Robin at Uncle Mac’s house, but I guess it’s a really good thing she did. With Robin falling down the stairs and knocking herself out, who knows what might have happened to that adorable little Emma! I have to say that I was stumped by Lisa’s behavior. I mean, of course, I didn’t really expect her to leave Robin to die, but when she went in calling Robin “Sweetie”, it kinda threw me for a loop! It works for Lisa’s plan that she was able to play the hero, because now Robin will really look crazy when she accuses Lisa of trying to hurt her or Emma. Lucky for Robin, it appears that Liz has informed Lisa that she’s got Robin’s back. *rolling my eyes*

Ummm…where exactly does Liz get off? Is it me or is Liz really only good at playing two roles? Saccharin sweet angel, or Snarky Snark. I mean does this chick have a middle ground? The look she gave Lisa when Lisa asked about Emma’s party was something else! If Liz only knew that the last nurse to get on Lisa’s nerves ended up at the bottom of a stairwell – dead, with a broken neck. The minute Liz opened her mouth, she was in snark mode, and it only got worse as she went along, but when said, “I’m no saint, so I’m not going to presume to judge your affair with a married man,” I was like, “Really?” Liz ONLY knows how to get hot for a man when either he belongs to someone else (Zander, Jason) or when she does (Nikolas). In fact, all three of her “little angels” have been conceived not in love, but in a web of lies and deceit, and I include Aiden because no one would have been able to hide his paternity if she hadn’t been sleeping with Nikolas all that time. And as far as being Robin’s friend irrevocably, it didn’t stop Liz from sleeping with Emily’s man. How about when Liz actually had the nerve to say to Lisa, “You parade your professionalism around here, and being all the victim, just knowing that your very presence pushes her buttons”? If Liz were to replace the word professionalism with the words, “Saint Act”, and the phrase “pushes her buttons” with “makes people wanna hurl”, she would be describing herself! Yes, Liz, Karma is a bitch. But so are you.

Sonny is about to get caught lying to all the people he lied to about setting the bomb in John’s car that almost killed John and his daughter. How many people did he look square in the eyes and swear that he didn’t do it? Kristina, Alexis, Olivia, Dante, Kristina…all of those people are about to be bitten in the behind for putting their trust in a man who has never really done anything to earn it. Sonny asked Dante to tell Kristina that all he ever wanted was to protect her, because he loved her. *sigh* Is Sonny still really this ignorant? Not only is Kristina going to be devastated, she is probably going to be left incapable of believing anything her father ever says again. How sad. If only Sonny would learn a lesson from this experience, but I already know that probably will not happen.

Speaking of Dante, the more he lies and covers up this secret he and Brenda have, the more I find myself revisiting his betrayal of his brother, Michael, and the aftermath, and the more I find myself getting angry at him. Dante deserves to have the wrath of Carly, Jason, Lulu, and everyone else who has reason to resent his self-righteous hypocrisy. Dante told Ronnie yesterday that Sonny would have to pay for his crime. I just wonder if Dante will be that willing to pay for the dead body they pulled out of the Jersey swamp. Just when Jason lets Dante know that he knows about Dante guarding Brenda n 2007, and asked Dante if he and Brenda were keeping any secrets, Dante turns the conversation around and makes it about Lucky, and the missing Siobhan. What a snake!

As for Dante’s literal partner in crime, there is no going back for Brenda in my book. I cannot see a way that she could make things right, and I cannot forgive her for how she has hurt my Sam. Not only is she selfishly taking up Jason’s life without any regard for Sam – after all, she knows that when Jason is sitting at her bedside in the middle of the night, he’s obviously not with Sam, she continues to lie to save her own ass, and hers and Dante’s secret. Brenda has not once uttered a word about the apology she owes Sam for making a stupid, self-seeking decision that could’ve gotten Sam killed!  Nor does she think about how this is still dangerous to Jason to be dealing with an enemy he knows nothing about, and has no idea about why he’s coming after Brenda. It leaves Jason with a huge disadvantage in this battle! It makes me sick that she can go spend time with Edward, take something that belonged to Lila, and then choose to lie to Jason’s face, even if it’s only because she’s not volunteering the truth.

My only hope is that when their “Secret” comes out, it blows their Servant Heart Facades sky high! The ASEC volunteer and Mr. Serve and Protect are not at all who they seem to be. I just cannot wait until everyone else sees what I see.

A day without Sam in Port Charles is like a day without sunshine…let’s hope it’s sunny and beautiful on Port Charles today!

Please don’t forget to call, email, mail, tweet, and Facebook TBTP about how much we missed our Sam!

Have a great weekend!

BASIC INSTINCTS

Everyone has them, but not everyone uses them. Yup, GHers, I am talking about Basic Instincts; the internal warning system that we should use before making decision about people, situations, life.

Having watched General Hospital for years, I, like most of you, can trace people’s histories in Port Charles quite a ways back. I can also trace their biggest mistakes down a path of failed or unused Basic Instincts. How different (and probably boring) life in PC would be if everyone paid attention to their Basic Instincts all the time.

😉

It is after all, a soap, designed to take us on a daily ride of emotion – from wonderful highs to sad, depressing lows that make us feel like watching something else from now on. I can tell you with all certainty that GH Writers have accomplished that very well in the past few days.

I received the most heartwarming DM from a Twitter pal who told me that after Tuesday’s show, she was done with GH. DONE. (How many of us Sam loving viewers weren’t tempted?) Then she read yesterday’s blog, and was sucked back into watching. I cannot tell you how that tweet made me feel! I hope that you guys all remember that Bella Mafia is here for just that! You guys never have to be sorry about ranting, or leaving your “worried” posts, or saying what’s on your mind. That is how we help each other stay in the game! (Thanks, Frantzie! You made my day!)

On to observing the Basic Instincts of others…

Patrick’s Basic Instincts are probably going to stop working altogether. They’re probably thinking, “Why bother?” Patrick ignores his instincts on a daily basis. That’s how he got into this mess with Lisa. Who can remember when Lisa showed up around this time last year? My instincts were on red alert, and Patrick’s should have been too, but he just kept making one stupid move after another. Here we are, one year later, and he is still fighting his instincts – the ones that told him Lisa was the one dressed up as a witch to scare Robin, the ones that told him he should be at Emma’s birthday party, regardless of what Robin said. Even when those who care about Patrick most are echoing what his most basic of instincts already told him, Patrick shakes them off, too. What a mistake.

Robin is also fighting off her Basic Instincts. She knows that she has to do something to let Patrick know she’s not ready to end their marriage, but her self-preservation instincts are so strong that they overpower her every other instinct. Instead of finding a way to tell Patrick how his actions or words make her feel, Robin comes at him swinging every time. I get that both Robin and Patrick are afraid in different, but equally real ways, but they’ve gotta find a way – for Emma’s sake. Too bad Patrick wasn’t there, since it seems that no one has remembered that Liz’s little Firestarter has a “history” with flames. I have a feeling that both Robin and Patrick are going to regret not making a bigger effort to be together on Emma’s birthday.

Very rarely does Mac Scorpio get a mention on my blog, but it’s not because I don’t love him, it’s because he very rarely gets a storyline. I’m still not sure he really has one, but for today, his Basic Instincts will. How is it that the Police Chief of Port Charles not only doesn’t have a really good security system, but also doesn’t have a really good smoke detector? I just don’t understand! I can’t even burn toast without having to battle the smoke detector in my house with a kitchen towel for about 10 minutes! I have a feeling that Mac is really going to have a tough time dealing with the fact that he failed to follow his most basic of instincts not just as a professional, but as Uncle Mac to Robin and little Emma!

Tracy Quartermaine is a smart, shrewd, woman with usually really good Basic Instincts. I will never understand how Luke gets away with completely conning her so often! The minute Luke said, “I have no home to be home-cared in,” my radar would have gone wild! All I can come up with is that Tracy has such little practice with being in love, that she forgets how to use them. I just hope that Luke makes himself worthy of her trust and tossed aside instincts this time around.

Carly’s Basic Instincts are usually on overdrive, especially when it comes to the women in who she believes to be her men’s lives. She reminds me of me when I’m PMSing. Once she gets an idea in her head, she becomes obsessive, compulsive, and as single-minded as I do. Trust me, I am so glad that my family only has to put up with me like that for about 24 hours per month! Carly is like this ALL OF THE TIME. She is now obsessed with the idea that Brenda and Dante shared a past, and is going to do everything she can to prove it. I loved that she was in Dante’s face first thing in the morning, before his defenses were really in place, because just as I am sure Carly predicted, he walked right into her trap. Way to go, Carly! Bring both those liars down!

Miss Lulu is a Spencer, therefore a natural born liar. Meaning that her Basic Instincts, especially when it comes to spotting another liar, should be in tip-top shape. Lulu has been picking up on something strange with her Mr. Perfect for weeks, and I saw that look cross her face when Carly called Dante out on his newfound Brenda Admirer Status. Let’s see how she handles it when she realizes just how long he’s been lying via omission! I have a feeling Mr. Perfect won’t seem all that perfect too much longer!

I happen to think I have great instincts. (Most people think they do) However, I will admit that because of my life experience, my Basic Instincts can occasionally become animalistic – and everyone and everything around me in those situations feel like prey. Funny story – when my hubby of 20 years and I started dating, I was convinced that he would cheat. After all my mother raised both me and my sister with the mantra that EVERY MAN WILL CHEAT. So, I was convinced that anytime he left the house without me, he was on his way to cheat. I would check. I would drive by with friends to spy. I would leave my Dictaphone from work under his seat in the car with a fresh tape and new batteries so that I could hear any and everything going on while I was not there. I know – this was not way to live, but I was just a kid, trying to avoid being head over heels in love with someone who was bound to cheat, so my goal was to catch him before I became a victim. I love my husband for a lot of different reasons, but one of the biggest reasons was that he patiently endured that sad phase of my life, mostly because his Basic Instincts told him that I just needed to learn a new set of Basic Instincts, and stop living out my mom’s. It took a lot of time, and a lot of embarrassing moments where I got “busted” spying or secretly recording him, but in time, I learned to find and trust my own instincts. Twenty years later, I have never been sorry. A lot of that has to do with the fact that he doesn’t give me reason to question my instincts.

I have to tell you all that occasionally, Jason makes me dig through twenty years of healing and a happy, functional marriage, in search of those instincts my mom handed down to me. I love my JaSam so much, that it truly hurts me to watch Jason hurting Sam, even when it’s unintentional. That hurt, and that fear of revisiting old lapses in judgment, and past mistakes makes me react with that old set of instincts. The second I saw Brenda fall into Jason’s arms, and the second I watched Sam have to see it, all of my alarms went off. I wanted Sam to run fast and far away before she could be hurt by Jason’s cheating…AGAIN.

Sam has really good instincts. I think she senses something is not right, but I think she too, learned a new set of Basic Instincts along the road of recovery from her last heartbreak to where she is now. There are times when we have to face our fears, and instead of lashing out at them and running, we have to stand there and really face them, until we realize that what we feared isn’t nearly as big as its shadows. Sam ignored the voices of all of our old fears and past hurts, and instead of running, she faced her fear. Yes, she is afraid to lose Jason, but Jason isn’t hiding. This thing with Brenda is out in the open, and painfully, but unbeknownst to Jason, right in Sam’s face. This is what Jason does. He plays Hero to anyone in need of a hero. Certainly, most of us would have been gone by the time Jason left Brenda’s needy ass, but certainly none of us would have gotten involved with a man who tried to warn us off because of his many responsibilities, either. Sam did. At that point, Sam’s Basic Instincts told her that she could trust Jason again, and that though nothing is guaranteed, the benefits of being with the man she loves far outweighed the risk to her once shattered heart. Would that have been my choice? Hell to the no. Would it have been your choice? Probably not. But it was Sam’s choice, and unlike the ones who came before, Sam is not backing down on her choice. Not yet anyway. I believe that Sam’s instincts are still sharp. I believe she’ll take it day by day, and situation by situation. I have to admit that I am glad Sam doesn’t live by my Basic Instincts, or there would not have been another shot at this great love we are such passionate fans of. I’ll try my best to support Sam’s choices and let Sam trust her instincts, and should they fail her, she will have gained another valuable experience, and will be better and even stronger for it.

You know, I am a Jason fan, regardless of what my tweetstream says. It’s just that I often want Jason to live by my Basic Instincts instead of his. Jason’s Basic Instincts are driven by black and white. Whether because of his brain injury or his need to live in survival mode because of his profession, Jason doesn’t really think or deal in gray areas. He knows what he knows. He knows that Sam is the woman he loves. He knows that Brenda is the woman he needs to protect. He knows that something is off. He knows that there’s a missing piece to the puzzle. Ne knows all of those things in absolute, single terms. He doesn’t connect them as we would. We watch and say, Jason is protecting Brenda, and it’s hurting the woman he loves, and in his quest to find out what’s off, he’s becoming more and more involved and less and less in tune with Sam’s feelings.  We are all upset with Jason over who he is, and what his instincts are. I guess that’s not really fair. So I apologize for giving in to my fears, and holding Jason to a standard he could never really meet.

From now on, I will try to judge Jason for what he is capable of only. I may not always achieve that goal, and my tweets during GH may reflect my failures, but I will try.

Will you try too? Will you also try to leave our Basic Instincts aside and let Jason and Sam trust their own? I think we’ll be much happier viewers that way.

😉

When tempted, I will remember that Jason allowed himself to be comforted by holding the love of his life in his arms as he slept. I will be comforted by the same thing.

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY

November 3 (Don’t ask me how, but yesterday I thought it was the 4th, so I posted clips for November 4th. So today, I will backtrack and post the Nov. 3rd clips! Sorry!)

2004: http://bit.ly/bm03AH Even here, Jason forgets a promise he made to Sam because of other responsibilities. *sigh* Jason asks Sam a question here, and then is kinda terrified to hear the answer. (LOVE IT!) This whole conversation was EEEEEEEEE-worthy!

2005: Part 1 – http://bit.ly/cIaFib I will say this again. Robin and Sam could have been really great girlfriends! What a wasted opportunity! Part 2 – http://bit.ly/dxG0wD

2006: http://bit.ly/adpw1A Gosh, I wish they’d have to go on the run again – for a long, long time!

2008: http://bit.ly/aqvB2y This was when JaSam EXPLODED  back onto our screens, and into our lives again! And *just like that* GH became watchable again! Let’s remember how happy we were with THESE scenes, with watching them in the same room together, and then what we have today will seem like a FEAST! (Psych 101)

Happy First Anniversary, Bella Mafia!

My beloved GHers, and Bella Mafia Readers, today marks the one year anniversary of when I posted my very first blog post. Wow! I thought today deserved a little recognition (hence the new look of the site).

*Thanks to my friend, Cam, for sending me this pic a while back. I knew then it would be the pic I’d use! <3*

A whole year has gone by since I started this project at the urging of  – BELIEVE IT OR NOT – my neurosurgeon. I know, how “GENERAL HOSPITAL” of me! Did it make you think of Dr. Patrick Drake? (To be fair, he is just as HOT!)

😉

It’s strange but true, because after several major back surgeries, lots and lots of pain medications, and staying home alone all day as opposed to working as I’d done since my early teens, I noticed that I was forgetting words.

Really…no joke. I would be talking or writing a letter to my child’s teacher, and would just “lose” the word I was trying to say. So, my surgeon assured me that it was just an effect of the combination of so many serious meds, and lack of stimulation to a part of my brain that used to be very active. You see, I’ve always been a Literacy Lover! I love words, and writing, and have always been involved in both; not just in the classroom, but out of it as well – school newspaper editor, public relations leader, letter writer, secret wanna-be novelist! I just love writing! So when my surgeon suggested that I find something I love to talk about and start a blog that would require me to consistently force myself to find and use words, Bella Mafia: The Beauty of GH was born.

You know what, stimulating my brain was just one tiny benefit! Over the past year, I have made many friends through my Bella Mafia blog – friends that I just can’t imagine not having now! So many of you have been there for me not just to talk about our favorite soap, but to encourage me, to talk to about a million other things, to pray for me as I faced the last SIX surgeries, and to share lots of laughs and good times with! I am also very proud of the fact that together, we have helped each other stay positive and supportive of our favorite couple throughout the past year!

I just love you guys! *tears of happiness*

I hope that we’ll have something to talk about for a long time to come, but just know that you guys have been more to me than just fellow GHers, and I appreciate you all so much…

*sniffles*

Okay…now let’s get down to business!

Monday’s GH was interesting, as it seems we may finally be getting some storylines not directly related to Brenda. I say, a Big, Fat Finally!

Carly and Claire tied up their ridiculous conversation about Carly playing match-maker for Claire and her former husband, Sonny. Then Carly stood there as her current husband, Jax, asked to talk to Claire about…Brenda. *sigh* Thankfully, it seems that conversation was a good thing for us JaSammers, as it seems that Claire has assigned Dante to be Brenda’s bodyguard. (I just have to say that the day any politician in my town uses taxpayer dollars, and community police to provide security for a Has Been Supermodel, I would start a freakin’ revolution!) However, as long as it ultimately gets Brenda out of The Penthouse, I’m happy to hear that Port Charles’ Politics are as corrupt as their Bensonhurst Cops.

Also kinda corrupt and really unethical are the medical staff over at General Hospital. Maya, and now Monica have agreed to let Tracy believe Luke is near death by supporting his Fake Heart Attack Scam #17. Oh well, as long as it helps the greater good – which is to have Tracy be less of a bitch, then I guess it’s all good. *rolls eyes*

My favorite scam of the day? Liz trying to get her millions back. Does anyone remember how many times we heard Liz tell Nikolas that she didn’t want his filthy money? Yeah, well that was before she blew Jason’s $5 million. Now, this is for my Jiz fans, who stop by to read what I’m writing about so that they can then attempt to leave nasty comments (I’m always going to delete Sam or Kelly bashing comments, so I really don’t know why you bother!) Read carefully, because this pertains to your theory. Liz went to Nikolas and told him about the lost money because as the fathers of her children, they had a right to know. Hmmm. Not once did I hear a Jason mention! That is because Liz no longer acknowledges Jason as Jake’s father… The only writing I see on the wall is that Jason and Liz are, have been, and will continue to, live separate lives, in spite of Jason mistakenly donating his sperm to the project. Liz didn’t say, “And I will have to tell Jason, since he’s Jake’s father, and it is was money he gave me to provide for his future.” She completely behaved as though Jason is already serving a life sentence, and he’s not available for comment. Don’t get me wrong – NOTHING MAKES ME HAPPIER, but I just don’t see why people are so angry at Jason for not writing her another check! How’s he supposed to know that Liz is even less trustworthy than he thinks she is? *shaking my head*

Well, Siobhan got an earful, didn’t she? Can I just interject here and say that I completely adored that little scene of Nikolas trying to hide Siobhan’s presence? Very funny. Tyler did a great job looking genuinely flustered. First Siobhan heard Liz’s confession to Nikolas, and then to Lucky, who said it better than I could have imagined: “Maybe it was money well spent” if it got Liz to recognize that they are over. Wow. Lucky tells Liz that he and Nikolas will  continue to provide for Cam, Jake, and Aiden, and that they will be fine. Liz had to take comfort in that, because Lucky wasn’t handing out any other kind. Siobhan finally revealed herself after Liz’s departure, and I have to say that I liked the entire exchange afterwards, including Nikolas. Siobhan tells Lucky to get a grip because it wasn’t as though they were talking about their sex life. I wanted to tell Siobhan that Lucky and Liz talking about their sex life would have been even more boring than their conversation about college funds!

Too bad Siobhan wasn’t the only one to get an earful…while Lucky and Jason were meeting on the not-so-private docks, where secrets and secret encounters are always discovered, the Balkan’s man recorded their meeting and sent notice to The Balkan. Oh boy, I was kinda hoping that Lucky would actually get this one right. Oh well…

I wonder if GH should just rename The Penthouse and call it the Temple of Brenda. It seems that the only people who come there now come simply to be in her divine presence (I say with every ounce of sarcasm I can muster). First Lulu, who surprised me when she declared that it’s her job to get whatever Kate wants – since I always thought that was Maxie’s job. But anyway, Lulu was there, pretending to be Maxie, and within 5 seconds she let Brenda know that the gelato lovin’ cop she’s been daydreaming about for weeks is HER MAN. She then grovels at Brenda’s feet and tries to get her to say yes to being on the cover of Crimson with the same annoying fervor as the guy at the mall who is always trying to get me to buy the “best nail treatment from the Dead Sea”. I need to know – am I the only person who finds Lulu that annoying? Just wondering. Next comes Jax, who rushed right over to see Brenda, regardless of Sam’s look of surprise and mild consternation. Brenda, obviously channeling a 17-year-old waiting for her crush to stop by, rushed right out the door with him. Jax, who just minutes before was trying to convince his wife that she is the only woman in his life sat with Brenda  reminiscing and sharing tender moments. Of course, Sonny finds them just as Jax touches Brenda’s face. (Stop it!)

It seems more Sam scenes were cut, as we never got to see her awkward conversation with Brenda. We did however, get to see Sam in Jason’s arms, and we did get to hear him talk to her in that oh-so-sexy way he uses only on her. “Don’t do that,” he whispered when Sam said she has been staying away because of Brenda. Yum! Apparently, Jason had time to tell Sam about Lucky’s plan, and tells her that baiting The Balkan is the plan, and that if it works out, Brenda will be gone. This should serve to reassure Sam even more that Jason wants Brenda gone, and their life back.  Sam tells Jason that it’s a workable plan, but he needs to use her instead of Brenda. Well, at least Sonny and Sam agree on something – because Sonny had just told Jason that Brenda is not to be used as bait. Of course Jason would understand that because he knows that Sonny loves Brenda and just wants her out of harm’s way. Which is exactly how Jason feels about Sam. You know what I love about Steve and Kelly? Not only can they make less than two minutes really sweet, they can also say so much with just the way they look at each other. It was clear to me that Jason heard Sam’s suggestion and immediately registered fear, danger, and a Helllllllll NO, all in about 5 seconds!

What happens next will change a lot. Hopefully, it will change the trajectory of Jason and Sam’s story, as it has been pretty lost among everyone else’s story for weeks now. I am hoping that tomorrow’s Encore Episode of “JaSam’s Undying Love” will give us a glimpse into the future that we can hold onto with both hands. I am also hoping that we will each call in every favor owed to us and tell everyone we know to tune in and to go to ABC.com to view the episode there as well. YouTube views don’t get monitored by TPTB.

I have high expectations…what about you?

Until tomorrow…

IT’S SO HARD TO WALK AWAY…

TGIF, GHers!

I’m hoping that the end of another week brings us even closer to the end of this season of “setup” for Sweeps. I am so ready to move on…what about you?

Not so ready to move on from their situations, relationships, and states of being are our friends in Port Charles.

Sometimes It’s So Hard To Walk Away.

Tracy, in spite of her anger and complete lack of trust in Luke Spencer, is once again finding that It’s So Hard To Walk Away. Sure, Luke is a drunk and a gambler, and completely untrustworthy, but he also cares about Tracy in his own way, and when he’s around, Tracy feels a little less alone in this world. Of course she’s having a hard time walking away, because she loves him. Luke has found – surprisingly, that It’s So Hard To Walk Away for him, too. Luke has certainly developed relationship phobias – even relation claustrophobia over the years, but he does love Tracy, and though her money is a big part of it – it’s not all of it. I do believe Luke when he says that. Luke has found in Tracy his equal on so many levels, and at this juncture in life, I think he appreciates that. Tracy gives him a run for her money, and she keeps him off balance. She cares about his kids, and despite the fact that she laughed out loud when Luke was faking his heart attack, she really does care about Luke. She’s not emotional or needy – at least not admittedly so, and she gives Luke his space. What’s not to love? All those things mean It’s So Hard To Walk Away for the both of them.

Robin and Patrick are facing the cold, hard facts that their marriage is in shambles. While Robin is convinced that it’s over, Patrick thinks it can be salvaged and rebuilt. The one thing they can both agree on is that It’s So Hard To Walk Away. Robin faces an uphill battle because not only does she have to stare the other woman in the face daily, her instincts are on overdrive, and Robin seems to be bordering on paranoia. Robin has never been a passive, gentle soul to begin with, but now that she thinks (and rightly so) that Lisa is out to get her, she sounds like an overbearing, unreasonably suspicious, jealous wife. I do feel for Robin, but if only she would be willing to listen to anyone giving her advice about not going off on Lisa – Epiphany, Steve, Maxie, and even Patrick have all tried, maybe she wouldn’t be such an easy mark. All of this makes it harder for Patrick to make inroads with their relationship, but I do believe he is genuinely sorry, and that he wants to work it out. Unfortunately for Patrick, Robin is not as convinced.

Sonny just boggles my mind. One minute he’s asking Suzanne about Brenda sightings, the next he’s awaiting Claire at a restaurant. What is he doing? Even if he thinks Claire invited him, which obviously she did not, I don’t understand why he wants to drag this woman through another round of “You’re Not The One.” I would think that Sonny might realize that if Claire is any more scorned than she already was – all bets are off. She will come after him with everything she’s got. *sigh* Sonny knows that he isn’t going to be able to move on while Brenda is in his universe because It’s So Hard To Walk Away.

And Claire – really? I don’t care if she believes Sonny had a change of heart and sent for her in Cinderella’s carriage! Claire needs to dig down deep and scrape up at least a morsel of self-respect! Sonny really must have some amazing moves because apparently It’s So Hard To Walk Away for so many of them.

Take Brenda…my goodness, I know I’m not the only one who is sick to death of seeing and hearing her cry to anyone that will listen that she needs to stay away from Sonny, but can’t trust herself to. Eight years have gone by and she still finds It’s So Hard To Walk Away. Even Sonny’s DNA must be that powerful because another man Brenda can’t seem to stop thinking about is Sonny’s firstborn, Dante. Every time Brenda is alone, she thinks about gelato, Dante, and their secret. Every time they come face to face they seem to be suspended in time – their breaths catch, their eyes glaze over, and we’re all left wondering if they even remember Sonny and Lulu. Hmmm, I believe It’s So Hard To Walk Away from the secret they share, that it’s going to end up hurting many different people in many different ways.

Jax and Carly have recognized that It’s So Hard To Walk Away. Of course it is  – they do love each other immensely. They’ve overcome some huge obstacles. They have a successful hotel to run, a beautiful family to keep together, two small children that still need them to co-parent, and a marriage that encompasses all of that. The real issue for Carly and Jax is they really can’t decide what’s harder – walking away or working out their issues. It seemed they were making real progress – Jax learned how to use Brenda as a parallel to Carly and Jason, and that seemed to even out the playing field…for about 5 minutes. Just as Jax had put that argument to bed, and was about to do the same with his wife, Olivia, a.k.a. KillJoy, puts a damper on their ardor. I have to say that Carly had some very valid points. Jax had no right to even explore a decision like that without discussing it with his wife, and Carly was right on when she said there’s no such thing as his or her money – they are married. Jax is definitely wrong on renovating the hotel to accommodate Brenda – and Carly is also right on the fact that bringing Brenda to the MetroCourt also brings Brenda’s dangers to the MetroCourt.

Yes, I agreed with Carly on many things, but she was completely on her own when she crossed the line with Jason. Even if Jason wasn’t in love with Sam, which he undeniably is, Carly crossed a line. It has been years since Jason slept with Carly…too many to even keep track of anymore. Now, I understand that sleeping with Jason is probably not something you forget easily, and I get It’s So Hard To Walk Away, but walk away they did, and her place in his life is strictly platonic, and that’s where Jason has placed it, so that’s where it will stay. Carly using Jason to hurt Jax or get his attention is just wrong.

Now, what makes this even worse is that Jason is most definitely in love with Sam, and she is the one who shares his life on an intimate level.

Right?

The fact that I have to ask should suggest that there may be some doubt there, and that is a problem. For those who wonder why Sam would question Jason’s loyalty or love, the better question would be, “Has Jason defined any clear boundaries to the other woman sharing his life, his time, his freakin’ Penthouse?”

I mean, what is intimacy? Webster’s Dictionary says, it’s the act of being intimate; something of a personal or private nature.

Can anyone now lend a little more understanding to why Sam might be questioning her place in Jason’s life? I know that all the spoilers have her as coming off jealous, but I just think the spoiler writers are getting lazy with their vocabulary. I don’t think Sam is jealous. I think she is questioning whom Jason is intimate with, other than her. And you know what? It’s a valid question!

Carly shares everything with Jason, down to the number of times she and Jax have had sex on his desk. She shares things with him of a personal or private matter all the time. THEY ARE INTIMATE!

And now there’s Brenda. Just yesterday, Jason was asking her to share her secret – her personal and private matters with him, even more so than she already had in Rome, and every time she cries! THEY ARE INTIMATE!

To make it even worse, there are no clear boundaries with any of these women, because Jason hasn’t put any boundaries in place! Carly hasn’t been given ONE boundary this entire go-around with Sam. Not a single, lonely “Call before you stop by”, or “Sam is the woman I love.”

Carly lives her life with under the code that SHE and HER KIDS are Jason’s FIRST priority. That has to change.

Brenda isn’t really clear on boundaries either. Even after she realized that Jason shares a life in Port Charles with a woman he loves, she still asked him why he couldn’t leave and guard her somewhere, anywhere else in the world! Brenda really thinks that Jason guarding her is his NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!

I can see why Carly and Brenda would have an issue, can’t you?

Then why isn’t Sam allowed to have an issue, or even ask where she fits in, or if she fits in at all? That’s not a sign of weakness! When it comes to my girls, I always repeat that fabulous piece of advice that we’ve all seen in a tweet or an email… “Never make someone a priority in your life, when they’ve only made you an option in theirs.”

Sam is our girl…she deserves the same advice!

Jason cannot treat Sam like an option. He must treat her like a priority!

Listen, don’t misunderstand me. I know that Jason and Carly will always be friends, he will always be there to catch her when she falls, blah, blah, and more blah. And I know that Jason feels responsible for the mental health challenged Brenda because he’s the only person she trusts in this big, scary world, yada, yada, and more yada. But if Jason doesn’t see that all of these intimacies are crowding out the intimacy he shares, and says he values with Sam, then he’s a fool. You know what? If Jason has forgotten what happens when there is a lack of boundaries, he needs to take his own Sunday Drive Down Memory Lane, and recall what led up to his losing Sam in the first place.

And you know what else? If things continue on this tragic path, and Jason keeps sharing intimacies with every other woman in his life, he shouldn’t be surprised when Sam decides that even though It’s So Hard To Walk Away…walk away she must, in order to save herself from another heartbreak.

I’m really hoping that it doesn’t have to come to that, but sometimes losing something is the only way you recognize its value.

Still believing that Love Will Win Out…

Angelique

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY

October 22

2004:  http://bit.ly/azVA5j I really think that at this point Jason was head over heels for Sam…just look at the way he looks at Sam when he walks in…his eyes completely light up. You could see his smile even before it’s on his face! *sigh*

2009: http://bit.ly/g1kHh Oh, if only Jason had adopted this way of thinking back in 2006, when Alexis convinced Jason to walk away from Sam the first time. How different things would have been!

REUNITED…AND IT DOESN’T ALWAYS FEEL SO GOOD

Thursday’s GH was…different.

I choose to believe that it was kind of like a “set-up” day for some upcoming stuff, but I sure do miss my Jason and Sam.

Anyway, reuniting doesn’t always feel so good…

Lucky was reunited with his Father, and yes I meant Father with a capital F, as Luke came to his son’s aid as a man of the cloth. I have to say one of the highlights of today’s show was this grouping of scenes. I’m not sure who the Bible scholar is on the writing team, but I haven’t heard scripture being used to manipulate a situation with your kid so effectively since my grandfather was alive, and would do it to me! I love that Luke and Lucky just have each other’s backs no matter what, and that Luke still wants to protect his son. I also really loved that Luke knew that Lucky was just behaving slightly out of character, even in taking this assignment, and that he was worried about his drinking. This is the stuff I like to watch: solid, true-to-character connections and storyline. All that being said, what I loved most about these scenes is that they finally got Lucky to drop that accent!

I know my pal, Steph was too, UNTIL she remembered that she’d vowed to watch Maya scenes without FF! LOL!Sure enough, Maya and Ethan were reunited and even got some lip-lock time. Sometimes, the writers will hang in there with a pairing until it grows on us…so they think. Only you can tell them what you think of their idea…

😉

Another reunion that will not bode too well for someone was Carly and Dante’s. I guess Carly will be even more inspired to continue that vendetta she has against Dante, now that he has reminded her of the 920948058 ways he annoys her. I must say I do agree with Carly – Dante was absolutely, unquestionably wrong to leave the country with his girlfriend and leave Michael, who is dealing with some serious stuff, alone. If Michael were still going through his Drew Garrett phase, he would have had Dante’s place jumpin’ with music, liquor, and whatever kind of girls Max and Milo would have had for him. It’s a good thing that Michael has so mellowed out…and is basically afraid of himself. Dante and Lulu’s poor temporary parenting didn’t end when they got back from Ireland either. They were right back to their usual bedtime shenanigans, even though Michael sleeps in the same room! I wonder what kind of Child Services system Port Charles has. Where I’m from, before the court places any child (and here they are considered the state’s responsibility until 21) in a living environment, and THAT living environment that Dante has going is UNACCEPTABLE! I was glad Carly took him to task on it. However…that still does not absolve Carly from her responsibility as Michael’s mother! I don’t care where the courts placed Michael! If my son were anywhere but home, I would see him every single day! I would make sure he was eating properly, make sure he’s doing his laundry, and in a situation like this, I would make sure that I was there in case the day arrives that he would want to talk to me about his ordeal. Carly has been gallivanting all over town – visiting people she cannot even stand – all in an effort to score points over Brenda! She couldn’t even be bothered to check on Michael! If I were Dante, I would have said to Carly, “Had you bothered to be half the mother this kid needs, you would have known I was out of town LONG BEFORE my return!” Neither one of these two has Michael as a priority. It makes me sick.

So Brenda used her day to go stomp her old stomping grounds and reunite with some familiar faces. First, she went to the hospital and set off alarms as she screeched at the sight of Robin. It’s nice that two old friends can catch up, and I am happy anytime GH Writers build on female friendships. Sometimes Port Charles can be a very lonely place to love if you’re a woman. So, Robin tried her best to convince Brenda that Sonny is still attainable, and when she wasn’t convinced that her hard work had paid off, she hightailed it to Sonny’s to try and do the same. Hmmm. I’ve had several hospital stays in the past few years because of my back injury, and I have to tell you that when I get out of there, that National Guard could not keep me from getting to my children FIRST. Poor Emma was found in Mommy’s Car Where Bad Things Happen by a cop! That alone would have made me sign myself out of the hospital draggin’ the IV pole behind me all the way home to hold my baby, and give her a sense that things were going to be okay. But no, even though Robin’s marriage is in the toilet, and even though she didn’t know it was in trouble to begin with, the still  pretty-much all knowing Robin tries to tell Sonny how to live his love life. *sigh* If there was one good thing I could walk away with from those scenes, it was that Robin addressed the fact that Sonny is now a diagnosed, treating adult with bi-polar disorder, as opposed to just a seemingly crazed maniac of a boyfriend. That should help bring things down a notch in their up and down relationship, though Brenda still needs a diagnosis in my opinion.

Brenda also reunited with her pain-in-the-ass manager back in her Pink Puke room at Casa De Stone Cold, and was informed that both her apartment and her hotel suite in Rome were trashed. This made Brenda ask if she had lost everything, to which Suzanne responded with a sorry yes. (Did I miss the part about where they set the place on fire and it was ravished by flames?) To which Brenda responded, “I guess there’s no point in going back there.” (I truly did hear a collective groan at this point) So I guess there was the set-up for Brenda’s visit being more than a visit.

As if she’s had anything but bad ideas, Brenda then decides to go reunite with Jax…where of course they lay eyes on each other, Jax gets that googly-eyed look and we fade to black. Trust me; this is one reunion that will not feel so good…on our ears! When Carly finds them together, and we all know she will, all hell is gonna break loose! Hold on. If we can make it through that, we’re one step closer to moving past it!

Friends, I am glad that Vanessa Marcil-Giowhatever was able to find a job at a point in her life where she needed or wanted it. I’m glad that GH was able to bring back one its all-time faves. Truly, I am. I would just like to see her blend in nicely. I just wish that characters didn’t have to completely swallow up the whole town of Port Charles upon their arrival. That’s all I’m gonna say on that topic.

Hopefully today we’ll get a little more variety in storyline, but even if we don’t, we have a lot to look forward to in the very near future, so just hang in there!

😉

You know, over the past few months, many of you have emailed me about Soaps In Depth magazine, and the unfair treatment some couples get. Others are just saddened by how negatively soaps are represented by a soap mag via Twitter and other forms of media. In fact, Deb over at JaSamRadio has expressed the same concerns and so we’ve teamed up to try and make that change. As with everything we want changed, it takes a voice to get it done. I’m not talking about getting people fired or in trouble, I’m talking about using our calm, intelligent, and resourceful voices to get people to see that we are not happy with what’s going on, and we need it to change. If you are interested in taking on this challenge together, please let me know, (via comment, email, or Twitter DM) and I will forward you the guidelines and the contact information for INSPIRING CHANGE.

I will be pretty much M.I.A. for the weekend as we’ll be pretty busy as a family, but I will get it to you a.s.a.p.

Much love,

Angelique

SPREAD YOUR WINGS AND FLY…

It seems that happiness and fulfillment for those we love to live vicariously through lies in their ability to spread their wings and fly. It’s a good thing so many of them have taken to, or are about to take, to the friendly skies…it kinda helps the flow of today’s blog.

😉

Sonny has got to be the most predictable player in town…I mean – really, Sonny, wouldn’t it be easier, cheaper, and greener for the environment to just drive to Jersey and bring her to Atlantic City? We’ve got casinos. I guess it’s a little cold to swim at the Jersey shore right now, but all the Trump hotels down there have indoor pools if your thing is to see how she looks in a bathing suit. But, alas, Sonny will be Sonny, and I’m starting to believe that if he tried some ne M.O., he would lose his mojo. So go ahead, spread those wings and fly literally, Sonny. It’s silly to thing that you might spread them figuratively and actually do something new and untried.

As for Claire, it’s official. I have lost every ounce of respect I had for her when she arrived in Port Charles and seemed to wanna knock Sonny off his self-imposed pedestal. I thought Claire would be self-possessed enough to know that Sonny would try to use his dimples against her in any and every situation, and she’d have a line of defense against it. Even after the first time she rolled all over the proverbial hay with him, I though she would feel disappointed in herself, recuse herself from the case and go back to Washington, DC. Never did I expect to see her lounging around, smiling at Sonny as if they were on a honeymoon. And when Sonny told her to go pack, I expected her to take a cab to the airport to go back to where she could get her head together – not to Sonny’s. That was such a weak move…ugh! I’m done with Claire – whatever happens to her when Brenda blows back into town – she deserves it for being such a fool. So, go ahead Claire spread your – *clears throat* never mind. You get my gist.

Lucky Spencer may have been to the last one to the party when it comes to spreading one’s wings, but spreading them he is. Not only is he spreading them professionally in taking an undercover and very dangerous job for Interpol, he is speaking with an Irish accent to rival the guy in the Irish Spring commercial, and he is even spreading them personally, as it’s obvious that he’s growing to care about the cute Siobhan. Nothing makes me happier for Lucky than the thought of him moving on from Liz. It’s an added bonus for me to think of her coming back to find Lucky no longer pining away for her lost love, and happily involved with someone younger and beautiful. So, I’ll put up with the accent a while longer for the sake of Lucky’s growth! Go ahead, Lucky, spread your wings and fly!

Poor Robin. I bet she wishes more than anything that she could grow wings and fly out of the blasted well! I have to say that I think I would prefer death than to being stuck at the bottom of a grimy, eerie well with creepy-crawlers in the middle of the night. But, being in the well enabled Robin to see the love of her life, Stone, and Stone allowed Robin the ability to see where she was wrong. Stone wasn’t perfect, and neither was their love story. It was young, and tragic, and has been immortalized in her memory, but as Stone pointed out, there’s no way of knowing that he wouldn’t have failed her the way Patrick did. Stone allowed Patrick to see that she wasn’t being fair. Not to herself, and not to Patrick. No one can compete with a ghost, or his memory. What Stone did for Robin will hopefully allow her to spread her wings and love out from under the shadow of her and Stone’s “perfect love.” Thanks, Stone. Seeing him was just as great for the rest of us.

Patrick has certainly learned one lesson already. Temptation is a dangerous thing, and unless you have an iron will, or rock solid self-control, (and Patrick has neither) you should avoid temptation at all costs.  I think the terror and helplessness Patrick is feeling is going to help Patrick to spread those wings out towards emotional maturity, and that’s going to help him learn to fly in “safe zones” from now on. Patrick has learned a valid lesson about marriage: Nothing, and no one, is worth your marriage, so go ahead Patrick, spread those wings and fly…towards the abandoned well your wife is sitting in.

I know that the writers are trying to make this thing work between Ethan and Maya, but I’m not sure that I feel it. What do you guys think? I don’t hate them together or anything. Certainly they’re both young and attractive, and they both have really great smiles and kinda wild hair, but they just don’t work for me in that way. I think they need to spread their wings in fly in opposite directions, and maybe find other dance partners. *rme*

Jason will finally spread his SuperHero wings and fly back to Port Charles and the arms of his beloved Sam. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am that this Rome nightmare is over. If I never have to see Brenda’s hotel room again, it would be too soon. They say Roma wasn’t built in a day, and apparently neither could Jason escape it on one. I so with he was coming back to drop Brenda off at Sonny’s, or at Robin’s (she could use a friend), or even the Metro Court, but alas, we all know she’s coming back to her Regrettably Pink Room. And I say regrettably just because she’ll be in it, nit because of the color. When we get tempted to thrown things at Jason over the next few days, let’s remember that everything – the good, the bad, and the ugly, will lead to Jason learning some all-important lessons. And that’s what we want. Let’s just sit tight and be patient. I think the payoff will be worth it.

😉

GHers, you know who has really spread her wings and flown above her past mistakes and insecurities? The beautiful and resilient Fair Samantha. Our girl is determined to fly above the garbage and the hype that is Brenda Barrett, and believe in what she has built and rebuilt with the man she loves. We haven’t seen much of Sam in the past couple of weeks, but we were able to gather a couple of things:

  1. Sam was not sitting around feeling sorry for herself or sitting at Jason’s penthouse remembering the moments they shared there together. (Thank the soap gods!)
  2. As soon as her foot got better, she was up and out – back at work at her own business, and earning her living.
  3. Jason called her TWICE. Not Carly, (regardless of the fact that she’s called HIM a thousand times), not Spin, not Sonny, not Michael. JASON CALLED SAM. TWICE.
  4. And my favorite Sam fact of the day? Both times Jason had to leave messages, because Sam was not sitting by her cell phone waiting for Jason to make it ring – or sing – whichever the case may be.

I LOVE THAT, people! Our Sam is on her own, and liking it. Jason is the man she loves, and he may even be the man she needs the way healthy people in love need their partners, but she doesn’t need Jason to define herself. She doesn’t need Jason in order to have a purpose. And she doesn’t even need Jason to get on a plane and fly back to her just because she needs him to be away from Brenda! Yes! Spread those wings and fly, butterfly! Sam has realized that she no longer needs to be cocooned with Jason in order to make things work or to hold on to him. She has experienced that transformation from unsure and insecure to knowing that she can stand on her own, fly on her own, and even bring home her own bacon. I am really very proud of her, and though I’d like to seem them write her into more types of stories, I am really happy with the way the writers have written her through this story. A word to the wise on the rumor about Sam asking Maxie for fashion advice: Let’s take a step back on this for a moment before we get ourselves in a frenzy, as I did when I first read that one. Looking back, Sam has usually dressed the same way – jeans, heels, simple tops. When she was pregnant, I think she felt more feminine than she ever had, and it came through in how she dressed. In 2007, she was a fashionable for the public eye because of her show, and afterwards because she was still in that mode. Then she became a private eye, and her wardrobe consists of dark and inconspicuous clothing because of what she does. Whether we like it or not, (and most of us, including me, do not) that’s their reasoning. Now Sam is missing her man, and about to see him after he’s spent time with a fashion model. *cough* Realizing that she is in a fashion pattern (I don’t think it’s a rut), I don’t think it means that Sam is insecure or threatened just because she asks her girlfriend, who works in the industry, for a fresh eye and some advice on what might work for her. When I went from teaching at the K-4 level after more than a decade to teaching Preschool, I had to trade in my pumps for sneakers because we teach our own Phys. Ed., and I traded my pencil skirts for pants that could stand up to crayon marks. I had to. Suddenly the well-dressed wife that used to greet my husband at the door was coming home with fingerpaint and applesauce stains on her casual work attire, and no longer complaining about being in heels all day. Even the places I shopped for clothes changed when the grade I taught changed. It happens. I can sooooo relate to Sam, because after another almost decade of spending my days in comfy clothes and sneakers, it kind of defined me. Sometimes when I’m getting dressed up for a night out with my hubby, I’ll ask someone who does it way more often – “Does this look okay?” “Is this too much?” or “What do you think?” I think that the only people reacting to this in a negative way should be the Sam haters, because they feel threatened knowing that Kelly Monaco is a stunner, and dressing her up will only make her more of a stunner. None of us Sam lovers should be upset or griping about Sam going to Maxie. Let’s be happy that Sam wants to put a little “va va voom” into her welcome home party for the man she loves. It’s another sign of a healthy relationship. Let’s try to refuse to be anything but positive in what we put out there regarding Sam and our couple. There’s enough hate and negativity from the haters. We are lovers…of Sam, of Jason…and everything JaSam. Let’s take responsibility for our effect on their image. Fill those tweets with love and pride. Make that GH Facebook page sparkle with our fascination with all things JaSam. Inundate those comment line and email inboxes with excitement over seeing Sam’s growth, and her bringing sexy back to Sam’s wardrobe. BE POSITIVE IN ALL THINGS…and as we see…POSITIVE COMES BACK TO US!

I’m really excited about what’s coming up for our favorite couple, aren’t you? It’s so important for us to respond with love and support. We are finally getting all the things we hoped and wished for…let’s appreciate and enjoy every moment.

😉

I’ll meet you on the landing strip as all of our favorites touch down!

Much love,

Angelique

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY

September 30

2004: http://bit.ly/bqx8Wo I think this was the first time he brushed her hair away from her face! I loved her reaction…so cute!

2005: http://bit.ly/d8ASxd Funny, but Jason was pretty domesticated in these scenes…

I WANT TPTB TO KEEP BUILDING JASAM’S HISTORY, DON’T YOU? TELL THEM JUST THAT!

As promised, until Jason and Sam are back together, I’ll continue to share videos that will encourage and remind us that Jason loves Sam! Today’s vid is a fun-themed vid, because I think things are about to get pretty serious around here:  “I’m Your Man” http://bit.ly/9dAc0L Credit: fightingirish1289

WATCH YOUR BACK…

Hola, GHers!

I have to admit that my GH watching and subsequent blogging is just not the same without my beloved JaSam, but because without General Hospital on the air, we would have no JaSam, I will continue to encourage us all to keep watching and supporting our favorite daytime drama…even on the days without sunshine! After all, when we watch, we are bound to find The Beauty of GH somewhere…

Lucky and his storyline are the biggest part of The Beauty of GH for me at the moment. Lucky lately has been someone his mother could be proud of. He stopped Liz’s Reign of Deceit over his life, and stuck to it; yet he helped her find her baby, and wouldn’t give up until that baby – his baby, was back home. But even then – he walked away and didn’t look back. Lucky can handle Maxie, his siblings, his father’s craziness, and even Tracy’s “secret” need to have him search for Luke. Lucky is a new man. Confident. Kinda sexy. Smarter. And he can fake an Irish accent to boot! We had a neighbor once whose grandfather came from Ireland for foot surgery…and he sounded exactly like Lucky! LOL! I am really happy that Jonathan Jackson was not shackled to LnL2 as his only storyline. He deserves to be more involved on the canvas, especially with RH’s maternity leave. I think this will be an exciting storyline for Lucky, and dangerous as hell! Too bad Starsky (Dante) didn’t say to Hutch (Lucky), “Watch your back!” Lucky’s definitely going to need to. This Irish pub gets more violence than Jake’s…and that’s sayin’ somethin’.

I do kinda wish he had asked Sam for her “help”, maybe it would give Jason a sour taste of his own medicine! After all, Sam could have said to Jason, “I’m only going because it’s an emergency.” One ex “whatever” deserves another, don’t ya think? *bats eyelashes innocently*

Another day of…Dante and…Lulu waking up and slobbering before they could wipe the sleep out of their eyes. *rme* So Lucky was smart enough to tell Dante where he was just in case he disappears, and Dante imparted some of his all-knowing wisdom. Not long after that, Dante gave Lulu some wind beneath her wings AND found her shoe, and then was off to Madison, where apparently he gets called for emergencies before Carly or Jax or even Jason. *rme AGAIN* Dante was able to solve the Scooby-Doo type mystery surrounding Michael’s fight in one segment, then tried to be Dr. Phil to Michael upon bringing him back to Dante’s Safe (But Oversexed) Safe Haven. Hey, SUPERMAN, watch your back! It seems Dante has already stolen your cape!

Jax earned some major points with me by getting Brenda taken off the cover of Crimson once he realized how much it was hurting Carly, and I give him points for hearing, and seeing, and feeling how much it was hurting her. Not many guys are that good with their senses when it comes to hurting the women they love. *cough cough* Not that Carly was very subtle – she was screaming it at him every chance she got, but even so, since Carly screams about everything all the time, Jax could have still missed it if he wasn’t paying attention. While Jax did the right thing, and he’s certainly saying all the right things to put Carly’s worries to rest, I would still offer the same advice to Carly if I were her BFF: “Watch your back!” Brenda is so needy, and so self-absorbed (kinda like you) that she will suck up all those men you hold so dear in a hot second!

Michael is a really good brother. A REALLY REALLY GOOD BROTHER. He decided to go back to preppy, snobby Madison Prep, in spite of the fact that he knew he’s be ridiculed, bullied, and provoked at every turn. He still went anyway, just so he wouldn’t let his little sister down. More and more I am pulled into Michael’s pain and vulnerabilities, and that’s because of Chad Duell’s portrayal. It’s those puppy dog eyes of his. They get me every time. He is also doing a really good job balancing his acting. He’s hurting, angry,a nd jaded without being over the top. I think I see a little Steve Burton in his gestures, and how he uses his voice. Nice job, Chad! As for Michael, even though Dante ad Taylor came to the rescue today, I’d say. “Watch your back!” There’s nothing like a bunch of obnoxious and entitled teens to get you going when you’re on the verge of punching your fist through a wall.

Kristina has finally met a boy her age who cares enough about her to stand up for her and her brother, regardless of the consequence. Even I like Taylor. Unfortunately, Taylor, you need to “Watch your back!” You see, the sweet and charming Ethan Lovett continues to endear himself to Kristina – always knowing what to say and when. Kristina really won’t be able to help but fall a little more for Ethan every single time she talks to him, and as much as I like Taylor, I can’t even blame Kristina.

I believe that Ethan is simply trying to help Kristina. However, I also think Ethan may find that he is more drawn to Kristina’s innocence and obvious worship of him than he is willing to admit even to himself, which may make him try even harder to make something happen with Maya. But if Maya is tempted to go into this with her eyes closed and her fingers crossed, I’d say, “Watch your back!” Never underestimate the power of a crush!

Nikolas and Brook are growing on me with every passing day. I like watching Tyler Christopher onscreen, and I love to watch Nik’s animal-like prowess. He really does do some kind of mating dance with just about every chick, and it makes for good segments, that’s for sure. As Nikolas said, I don’t think he’d give Brooke a chance to scam him. No, my “Watch your back” warning is for Brooke. This hottie can and will sneak up on your weaknesses, and before you know it…you will be on your back…just not necessarily working.

The Patrick/Lisa/Robin triangle is quickly becoming square, as now poor Steve Webber has been dragged into the fracas. Those contemplating an extra-marital affair beware: You know your marriage is in trouble when the only conversations you can have with your spouse are at the PCPD with your commissioner uncle watching. Patrick, Robin, and even Steve think they have Lisa completely fooled, but it’s not that easy. One wrong move, or one overly loud whisper could turn this whole thing around on them. So I’d say to the justice seeking docs, “Watch your backs!” The most dangerous threat is the one you never see coming.

To Spinelli, I say “Watch your back, Grasshopper!” You see, what goes around…comes around. I hear Maxie is due back in your “orbit” soon. *evil smile* Til then…let me remind you of what a good friend Sam has been: http://bit.ly/bvfU0b (she breathed you life, you TURD!) and http://bit.ly/cJfkMx (and then saved your backstabbing ass!) and http://bit.ly/9BdIcq (and then agreed to take your bumbling behind off Jason’s hands and give you a job!)

Much love to the rest of you…

Angelique

REMINISCENCES

Well…my two younger ones went back to school on Monday, my husband goes back to work tomorrow after a long vacation, and my oldest starts college in a couple of weeks. Which means I am back to counting on all of you and our beloved soap to keep me sane as another school year begins without me heading back to my beloved job.

It’s a good thing that General Hospital seems to have kicked it up a notch in the past few days. Lots of things are happening all over the place in Port Charles and across an ocean in Rome. It’s made for some really worthwhile watching.

With all that’s going on, the Scrubs Infidelity s/l has proven to have some really great twists and turns. Over the past couple of weeks, because of what I’ve been dealing with personally, I haven’t had the time to look up or read any spoilers, so everything that’s been playing out on screen has been a surprise to me. I have to tell you I didn’t see Patrick telling Robin the truth – at least not this quickly. However, Lisa is really just jumping over those lines she shouldn’t have crossed, and really didn’t leave Patrick much of a choice. As we all know, the longer you keep a secret, the more hurtfully explosive it becomes. I know I’ve said this before, but that Brianna Brown is really doing a bang up job playing the psychotic Lisa! Lisa is like Glenn Close’s character, Alex, in Fatal Attraction – but smarter, because she’s keeping it together longer, which clearly gives her, and the story, the advantage. She played Tuesday like a pro – acting so believably affronted by Robin and Patrick’s accusations that I almost fell for it myself! Telling Robin she should go back and revisit her therapist was a low blow, and the way she blew off Steve’s concerns at the hospital with a wicked smile was just chilling. It’s no wonder her character’s story arc has been so long. She is a great actress, whether you hate her character or not. Certainly the Scrubs fans hate her character, and they should, but it really just means she’s doing her job extremely well.  Tuesday’s Robin and Patrick scenes were hard to watch for anyone. Kimberly McCullough and Jason Thompson made me feel as though my best friends were going through it. I got a lump in my throat, and wished I could give them both a hug, and neither character inspires that emotion in me very often. *wink* Perhaps I was that affected because it was so reminiscent of a JaSam scene back in 2006 when Sam, displaying a soap rarity, confessed her drunken indiscretion to Jason right away, and he in turn ripped her heart out by doing the same. Breaking up is hard to do anytime, but drunken indiscretions add a slap in the face to the heartbreak. For little Emma’s sake, I hope the docs can work it out and find a way to rebuild the trust.

Speaking of the hospital, Johnny was rushed to surgery after losing consciousness, and after Maya came in and rushed out his only friend in town: Ethan. Johnny ended up there as much to his surprise as mine watching spoiler free. I had no idea it would go down that way, and neither did Johnny, as his plan was to shoot Sonny dead. Alas, it seems the more experienced mobster won, since Sonny is well enough to be sitting in lock-up and Johnny is…well, not. I was a bit surprised by the fact that Dante had believed Sonny’s innocent plea so easily, as Dante knew first hand that Sonny has wanted Johnny gone for quite some time, but in comes Ronnie and changes everything. Ronnie’s kind of cop ethic gets under my skin. Getting rid of Johnny’s gun was a shady thing to do, and Ronnie knows it. However, it seems to have paid off for him, as he was able to convince Dante that Johnny was unarmed. I guess to Dante, the likelihood that Sonny would shoot an unarmed man, was all too reminiscent of the time Sonny shot him in the chest point blank. *sighs*

Sonny really did choose the wrong time to get all honest and to take up confessions again after all this time! My goodness, as if it wasn’t stupid enough that he would tell Dante, the son who cannot stand the sight of him, the truth about shooting Johnny, he then keeps running his mouth off even at the PCPD. Poor Diane! They say “the man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client”, but Diane truly has the biggest fool for a client because he won’t let her do her job! Even after having to watch Claire play the tape, he still calls her in and wants to work things out with her! What an idiot Sonny can be sometimes! I would think that with all the Brenda reminiscing Sonny has been doing lately, that tape would have been as reminiscent of Brenda wearing the wire to incriminate him to Sonny as it was to me. *shakes head*

Equally reminiscent as of late has been the object of Sonny’s reminiscences…Ms. Brenda Barrett. I guess when in Rome, with a hot guy asking you to marry him, you should spend every free moment thinking about all of the men from your past, even though you haven’t laid eyes on any of them for seven years. Every time I see Brenda looking at that phone or that piece of paper with Sonny’s number on it, I want to scream, “Call him already and get it over with!” Ugh! If you can’t get him off your mind after seven years, Brenda, chances are you’re just as stuck on him as you were when you left Port Charles the last time! *smacks forehead*

Of all of yesterday’s storylines playing out, the one I enjoyed most, not surprisingly I’m sure, was also the shortest. Jason and Sam are just everything we love to watch wrapped up neatly with a little black bow. They are romantic, funny, action-packed, and sexy as Hell! I really just don’t get the lack of airtime, but I make sure that at least ONE of my calls to the comment lines asks that question, so we’ll move on. Jason is reminded once again why Sam is THE ONE for him, as she is calm, coll, and collected in a crisis. She even helps Jason get through it, as the way Sam handled that highway trooper like a pro. I love the way that Sam and Jason play off each other, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t give Kelly and Steve the credit they deserve for making every scene they’re in so real. Am I the only one that sometimes forgets they are fictional characters? I get so happy when they’re happy it’s ridiculous! I look forward to seeing how the writers will continue to commemorate their anniversary of their reunion from a year ago, but over the past few days, I did experience some reminiscences from years gone by…such as when Jason pulled Sam down from off the fence: http://bit.ly/9ovA4u and Sam’s twisted ankle reminded me of the last couple of times she sprained her ankle http://bit.ly/cMgMAh and http://bit.ly/dmoPi0. I really want to give the writers credit for doing come reminiscing of their own. Yesterday was, after all, the anniversary of their hot first kiss after years and years of waiting, and  the writers gifted us with them being together. I thank them for that from the bottom of my JaSam loving heart! *beams*

Let’s see what today brings!

Much Love,

Angelique

“What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!”

Regardless of what Franco said to Willy – he is MY Whackjob!

Oh how I love watching Franco! He really plays desperate, insane, delusional, and wacky perfectly! I love his facial expressions, I love the way you could see what he’s thinking by watching him, I love that he is enjoying this so much! I think that’s what makes me love him so – that he really makes me believe he’s having a good time, just like his alter-ego. Besides, Franco and I have one very important thing in common – or should I say Very Important Person? Franco and I are both hot for Jason!

Now I know that Franco did a few bad, bad things, *insert Chris Isaak song here* but I can’t help but love him. And really, after watching Franco’s vid, Jason got all angry and volatile, so how can we not be grateful? Angry Jason is one guilty pleasure I would never share with my therapist, but I could watch that scene over and over. And when Jason gave Dante that little shove – I kid you not, I got a little hot and bothered. Steve Burton is hot no matter what he’s doing, but when he broods, and frowns, and speaks through clenched teeth – my mind goes places. And poor Franco – that’s what he experiences also, and that’s why he keeps taunting Jason – to get a rise out of him. Although I’m starting to believe my last statement may be true in a more literal sense – if you catch my drift. This may be about more than just art for Franco now. I think he’s fully ga-ga over Jason, and until Jason gives Franco what he wants, I think Jason will always be on the defensive. Whatever happens next – I’ll be watching with bated breath.

😉

Franco isn’t just hot, and he doesn’t just have good taste in stalking victims, he’s pretty witty and clever when it comes to how he turns a phrase. In fact – he said something rather deep and thought-provoking today. Something that could lend itself to several situations currently unfolding in Port Charles.

When it came to Liz, Nik, and the new baby, it appeared that the old and dear friends/former in-laws, turned lovers, turned haters, turned reluctant co-parents, turned tentative friends again, it seemed that they had finally turned a corner on their rocky road since having their affair discovered by the person they both loved and deceived the most. By all appearances, Nik and Liz had turned the page on that difficult chapter and were about to move on and move forward into the next chapter. They were smiling again, they were no longer tense or terse, and it looked as though it was a new beginning. However…”What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!” In an instant, their happy little facade came crashing down around them as they realized their newborn son was missing. From where Liz and Nik and Lucky and everyone else who’s close them sit, it also appears as though Helena is the guilty party. From where we sit, that doesn’t seem to be the only suspect. But if not Helena, then who?

To confound the situation for Liz, her dear friend Shirley has lost her battle with cancer. When Liz walks in to see Shirley, it’s obvious she expected to see her sitting up and making jewelry. After all, it wasn’t terribly long before that Shirley was bestowing gifts – of jewelry and wisdom – upon her favorite nurse. I doubt Liz imagined to find Shirley any different than when she’d left her, and she looked fine, if a little tired. But sadly, “What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!” Liz has lost more than a patient…Liz lost the one person who could tell her like it was, without sugar-coating the truth. What a loss that is.

So it appeared that Robin walked in on another professional “squabble” between her husband and his ex, Lisa. However, Robin quickly realized that “What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!” There is definitely more to the tension that Lisa and Patrick seem to thrive on, but Robin only gets half of it. She cannot fathom that Patrick would cheat on her – and with Lisa, because Robin sees her husband as unable – or even unwilling – to take a chance on losing her…but as Franco said…

Off in another room, Carly is convincing Patrick not to go and confess to Robin, because then he will lose her for sure. At first glance it looks as though Carly is putting her feelings for Robin aside, and thinking of Patrick and Little Emma. However, truer words have never been spoken than “What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!” when it comes to Carly. In Carly’s estimation, Robin has blown up Carly’s life and subsequent web of lies twice – first with telling AJ the truth about Michael being his son, and then by telling Nikolas that John (now Spencer) was his son and NOT Jax’s, as Jax and Carly had led everyone to believe. The only reason I believe Carly doesn’t want Patrick to confess to Robin, is because Carly would like to tuck that little secret away in her arsenal to use against an unsuspecting Robin someday so that she can blow ROBIN’S life apart. If Patrick asked me – honesty – hard, but swift – is his only chance to save his marriage. If Robin hears the truth from anyone else – it will be a thousand times worse!

Well, one unexpected, but perfect example of Franco’s quote played out before our very eyes after Michael attacked Warren Bauer in defense of his sister, Kristina. “What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!” took on a whole new meaning when everyone in the room chose to not see anything – not the bruise, or the bloody nose – nothing that would make any of it Michael’s fault. Warren Bauer is a brute and a bully, and I’m glad Michael beat the crap out of him, but whoa – who saw what happened next coming? (And if you read spoilers that doesn’t count! LOL) We all saw an angry, vengeful father blaming his son’s victim for what happened to his son, but I don’t think anyone saw that the upstanding public figure would go “postal” (forgive me ahead of time if any of you work for the USPS – it was lack of a better term and I love my postal carrier!) and start shooting anyone who moved! I saw a lawsuit, a public relations nightmare for GH, and maybe even problems with Michael’s parole, but shooting Mac and Ethan before turning the gun on Kristina and Michael? Holy Francophrenia! Franco may just be psychic!

Well, friends it was another day without Sam…and it appears that it may not be too different tomorrow, but I’m hoping against hope that “What You See Is Most Definitely Not What You Get!”

Then I will call and email TPTB and let them know just how much I miss my Sam, and just how much GH needs Kelly! I hope you’ll do the same!

😉

😉

A DAILY DOSE OF DRAMA

TGIF, GHers! What a week! Hope you’re all looking forward to this weekend as much as I am. Hopefully, next week will bring us more love and excitement in the form of our favorite couple.

😉

Can I just tell you that Kristina Davis has gone from “Ideal” teenaged daughter to “Unreal” real quick? Her anger and resentment towards Sonny have made her Hell on Wheels. She definitely inherited her father’s balls, that’s for sure! When Clueless Sonny crossed paths with his little girl talking to Johnny, Kristina took matters into her own capable hands. Forget the fact that Johnny had just finished telling her that he wouldn’t – couldn’t – use her against Sonny! Kristina grabbed hold of Johnny and basically dragged him into this latest tragedy waiting to happen. Sonny was beyond pissed! He was twitching and stuttering, and I really have to admit, that I really enjoyed watching him squirm. I know – what does that say about me? But really, how many girls have had daddy issues and ended up acting out with alcohol, drugs, shoplifting, or promiscuity? In Kristina’s Yale-bound brain, she is doing the least dangerous thing to get her daddy’s attention. She isn’t risking substance abuse, or pregnancy or STD’s, and she even thinks she won’t even risk getting emotionally hurt because this is just her and Johnny pretending. If only Kristina knew she should be wearing a seatbelt and a crash helmet. This is not going to end well. More than Kristina’s heart, Johnny’s life is at stake. Sonny already wants to kill him! But this is what makes for great TV – nothing is as irresistible as forbidden love. Forbidden mafia love just makes it that more intriguing!

I also loved the conversations Sonny had with Olivia and his co-parent, Alexis. Ohhh, classic Sonny dysfunction at its best: “Your boyfriend is screwing my daughter!” he yells at Olivia before he even says hello. Yeah, Sonny, why bother finding out the facts? Sensationalist, much? He and Alexis, however, were something else altogether. Neurotic Mom + Paranoid Dad = Comical Parents. Alexis, not to be outdone by Sonny’s hysterics, wanted Sonny know why Sonny didn’t drag Kristina away kicking and screaming when he saw Johnny “feeling up” their daughter! As my pastor would say, “This is how rumors get started!” Wow, they went from holding hands to sleeping together just like…that! *snaps fingers*

Lulu made a big mistake that helped remind Carly why she’s gunning for Lulu and Dante. She went to Carly talking about her son, while Carly was in the dark about it. For you mothers out there, you know – nothing can make your blood boil faster! First of all, Carly is pissed off that Dante was there to know first hand. Secondly, she’s pissed off that Dante is running his mouth about Jason having committed a murder, and Third, Lulu wanted to give Carly an “update”. Carly doesn’t like being updated by an outsider. To top it all off, Lulu must have taken a college course at PCU – Sanctimony 101, because really, every time she opens her mouth, I want to smother her. She sounds like someone else I know…*taps fingers* Oh, yes! Dante! Both of them, when not “getting horizontal”, are spewing nonsense about how perfect and noble and smart they are. Ugh!

Ethan is into Maya, and trying hard to impress her. Too bad his apple didn’t fall far from he Spencer tree at all. He is such a con, that he even lies to her about Johnny’s penthouse being his. If only he’d be himself, Maya might actually be interested. Johnny comes home and stops the madness before it can go too much further, but then shares with Ethan his own madness involving Kristina. I don’t know about you, but I think I saw something in Ethan when Johnny said he went along with Kristina. Hmmm…the plot thickens. I know I certainly saw something in Olivia when she walked in on John…seemingly handing  a lounging Kristina a glass of wine! I think the sparks are definitely about to fly!

The scary thing is with Michael and Jason in Pentonville, there’s no one to keep Sonny under control and on his meds. Claire does need Jason’s help with a threatening Franco, so maybe Michael can get help out at home sooner than we originally thought!

No matter what happens next, the drama is guaranteed!

Don’t forget to call and email! I’m missing Sam more than ever! Hopefully, that was a letter to TPTB that Jason was writing, letting them know that even he misses his girl…although I will settle for a letter to Sam!

SOMETIMES LOVE ISN’T ENOUGH…

Happy Hump Day, GHers!

Sorry for the mini-absence…a dreaded trip to another surgeon on Monday confirmed the one thing I did NOT want to hear…MORE SURGERY! It took me a couple of days to wrap my brain around it, and it was hard to put two thoughts together. But, I’m over the shock, and ready to move forward, so here we go…

It seems that most of our favorite fictional NY residents had a tough reality to face on Tuesday’s episode of our favorite soap: Sometimes Love Isn’t Enough.

First on our list is the truly troubled Mob Princess, Kristina. Is she twisted up with anger and resentment or what? Teen angst is hard enough, but when you’re feeling abandoned by and insignificant to your father, your life begins to spin enough drama for your very own soap. Alexis the Great has tried to convince Krissy to give Sonny and the healing process another shot, but the hotheaded Kristina swears she is so done with her father! The truth is she is so far from done. When you’re done with someone – you stop living out your life in a succession of mistakes just to get their attention. Kristina hasn’t gotten there yet. Her latest idea to get on her father’s last nerve is to “pretend” to be dating his arch nemesis, John. *sigh* As if the idea itself weren’t bad enough, Kristina makes it thousands times worse by sharing the idea with the young and impressionable Molly. Why haven’t researchers come up with a vaccine for Teen Stupidity? Of course, both Alexis and Sonny will try to love her through this crisis, as will Sam and Molly, and everyone else who cares about her, but…Sometimes Love isn’t Enough.

While we’re on the subject of the “Mob Prince”, Johnny also had to face today’s truth. Of course, Olivia’s stomping in and out is enough to snap anyone back to reality! Is that stomping another “Bensonhurst thing?” Sheesh. Anyway – Olivia wants her boy toy to stop toying with the dangerous Sonny, and her boy toy wants her to stop toying with his feelings. He would like Olivia to choose John, and by extension, John’s side of this fight. Oliva feels she’s only choosing her son’s side, not really understanding that John sees Dante’s side and Sonny’s side as the same thing. Olivia storms her “sweet ass” out of John’s place, only to bring it right back later, along with a bottle of wine and that doe-eyed look, which of course, led to declarations of love from both of them. Yet, even as they locked lips and got ready to communicate the best way they know how, even they knew…Sometimes Love Isn’t Enough.

In other Port Charles news, Ethan and Skye let us know that Luke and Tracy are finally on their way back home from their Nightmare In Greece. Shortly thereafter, the newest “honorary” Spencer, Maya, informs Ethan that Luke better hightail it to the Quartermaine mansion as soon as his plane, (which is not the same as Tracy’s plane), touches down. If someone had told me five years ago that I’d be rooting for Tracy and Luke as a couple, I wouldn’t have believed them! Who knew that they would endear themselves to so many with their constant bickering and threats? But they did! Luke has tried to convince Tracy that he really does love her, but Tracy’s not buying anything else from Luke. Luke, who usually shoots down pink clouds and any ideas of love everlasting, may now be hoping that he was wrong when he so often said himself…Sometimes Love Isn’t Enough.

Carly is the Great Dame  of Deception. She is playing Lulu like a well-played fiddle, and Lulu is completely CLUELESS! Carly and Brook put on quite the performance for Dante’s faithful, and she bought it hook, line and sinker. I could almost feel sorry for Lulu, but when I see her being so damned arrogant and sure of herself, sympathy eludes me. Lulu is one smug chick. “Dante only has eyes for me,” she assured Carly. That may very well be true, but it still got on my last nerve. As most of daytime’s couples find out, Lulu may have to face that Sometimes Love Isn’t Enough.

Carly may also end up being the Queen of Karma. As she melted and gazed upon her handome husband, Jax, I saw her pride come down a notch and her hard-assed attitude soften. Carly loves Jax, and she misses what they had. Hanging around the yoga studio may not be enough to get him back. I think Carly realized that, so she tried a more direct approach: asking him to have dinner with her. I think Carly expected Jax to trip over himself to accept her invitation, so she was stunned when Skye showed up and swooped Jax away. Reminding Carly that when you want to save your marriage…Sometimes Love Isn’t Enough.

Jason gave up the woman he loved, the business he’s helped build and protect, and the freedom we all enjoy, out of love for his nephew, Michael. Jason never wanted the violence and danger of mob life to touch Michael’s. Instead, it has defined it. Michael may never be the same after his experiences this past year of his life, most recently watching Jason murder the creep who terrorized him since his arrival in Pentonville. Jason has done everything – the good, the bad, and the ugly, for Michael out of love. But…Sometimes Love isn’t Enough.

SOUNDING BOARDS…

Everyone needs a sounding board at some point. You know, someone to bounce ideas off of, to get things off your chest with, to hear yourself say things out loud and hear how they sound while you watch someone else’s reaction. Sometimes, a sounding board can be a co-worker, an attorney, a therapist, or a neighbor.  But if you’re lucky, your sounding board is someone who truly cares…a friend, a sibling, or a lover.

Most of our favorite Port Charles residents were in need of sounding boards on Wednesday’s episode, and because our writers on GH, (namely Michele Val Jean yesterday) have done such a good job of connecting and interconnecting people, there was an abundance of sounding boards to be found.

The Jax Family+2 sat down to discuss Baby Josslyn’s Christening. Or at least, they THOUGHT they were going to sit down and talk about it. It was more like they were going to LISTEN to Carly tell them who would NOT be godparents. Oh, you have to love Carly! I will say this…if my husband suddenly started to mysteriously agree with everything I said, I would wonder. I’m not sure if it’s Jax’s guilt, but he gave in a bit too easily. Something concerning me deeply is that now Morgan has information that will make sense to him soon, if not now. Maybe Jax should talk to my 17-year-old, who can totally teach him how to lock down his Blackberry. Unlike my 17-year-old, Jax is an adult, and will be able to keep that lock on there! 😉 When all is said and done, the really nice relationship Morgan has with Jax is going to be changed forever…and that’s too bad. I don’t even want to think about Morgan’s feelings about what Dante is about to do. He really does see him as a big brother. Oh, the irony!

Speaking of Dante, my goodness, thank God he’s so cute, because those lines he was spouting off to Lulu were ridiculous! (LOL) But they made Lulu smile, and even chuckle, so good for Dante. Not so good is that he feels he has to push her away in order to protect her, and her smile faded as quickly as the warmth of those lattes she was carrying back to Crimson. This is one of those push away/pull close kind of love stories, and it’s cute. I really liked the scenes where Lulu is telling Maxie and Dante is telling Johnny that they are each in love. Fans of DanLu will be on the edge of their seats waiting for them to say it to each other! I love that GH is focusing on Love Stories again, aren’t you?

Spinelli and his Maximista are another “different kind of love” story. Spinelli telling Maxie she looked amazing was such a cute moment, because Bradford Anderson always manages to look smitten with his lovely co-star. Spinelli does everything he can to reassure Maxie…but Maxie is still dealing with her guilt about Franco, and so she was going on and on again about Spinelli “leveling out the playing field.” Poor Spinelli just doesn’t know how else to make her understand that he has no desire to even play on that field!  So he turns to the smart and shrewd Diane Miller (Did I mention how much I love the inter-connectedness of characters on this show?!?), who is thrilled that Spin “came to the expert,” and lets him know her services will be “on the house!” Too funny! After, listening to Spin’s non-legal dilemma, and divulging her own “Free Pass List-makers”: Russell Crowe and Justin Timberlake, the “Brusque Lady of Justice” tells Spinelli what we all already knew…Maxie doesn’t want him sleeping with anyone else! Too bad Spinelli looked more confused than ever!

There was a nice moment with the Quartermaines, and even an update on Rebecca Shaw and her new life in Paris. Edward mentioned hearing from Maya Ward, his great-granddaughter, and has decided to invite Maya and her younger half-sister to live at the Quartermaine Mansion while she does her internship. And just like that, there will be Wards on the Port Charles canvas once more.  I expect we’ll figure out just who Maya is soon enough…

😉

Patrick and Lisa had to talk out their “flashbacks” of some traumatic episode they had “back in the day”, while treating a couple who came in after a car accident. They talked it out, and the whole time I was sure that Lisa was hearing something totally different than what Patrick was saying. I hope Robin gets back from London sooner, rather than later. Lisa is up to no good!

Kristina finally made a smart move. She called upon her big sister, Sam for advice on her relationship. Can I stop right here and applaud MVJ for writing such a sweet scene. When Kristina told Sam that she loved her anc couldn’t imagine her life without Sam, I was touched. I love Davis Girls scenes in any combination, but I especially love scenes with Sam and her sisters. As I’ve said before, Sam’s extensive knowledge and life-experience earned her an honorary doctorate in Hard Knocks. No one is more qualified to steer Kristina back up this slippery slope onto solid ground. I loved Sam’s advice to her little sister. I loved that she said that if the relationship makes her feel bad, she should get out of it. I also love that Kristina can see that Jason loves Sam, because we can too. Unfortunately, teenagers are rarely willing to learn from anyone’s mistakes but their own. I am just glad that Sam is aware that her suspicions about Kiefer were founded, and she’ll be able to keep a close eye on things.

Jason has a lot on his mind. Luckily, he had a lot of company on which to unload the different concerns he had. Diane was there for  legal advice, though Jason was left feeling even worse about the decisions he made the night of the murder. Then came Michael, who let Jason know that he’s putting the murder behind him, and he trusts his dad to take care of things. *cough, cough* In his own way, Michael did try to absolve Jason of this guilt, and told Jason that he hoped none of those mistake would keep him from being in Josslyn’s life. Next came Johnny, apparently at Jason’s request. Jason told Johnny that Sonny is planning to pin the murder on Franco, because as Claudia’s brother, he deserved the truth. You’ve gotta love Jason’s respect for Johnny. Johnny agreed to keep quiet for two reasons: 1) He knows Michael is truly the victim here – of the family he was given, of the choices that have affected his life, of Claudia’s need for vengeance. And 2) Johnny really wants Sonny to take the fall for Claudia’s murder, so he goes back and tells Dante Sonny’s plan, but DOESN’T tell Dante that Michael really killed Claudia. He may respect Jason and his loyalty to Michael, but he has nothing but HATRED for Sonny. Finally, Carly was there to try to chase Franco from Jason’s mind, and to rid Jason of all the reasons Jason shouldn’t be in Josslyn’s life, and to remind him of the ONE reason he SHOULD be. Josslyn needs him to be the ONE person she can count on, like Carly. Nice moments there, as Carly reminded Jason that he loves her, and he quietly admitted it.

GHers, just like you and me, our favorite characters sometimes just need to say it, whatever “it” is. It’s what helps us all move on, take the next step, make the tough decisions. I cannot wait to see how everyone we talked about today does just that.

It’s what keeps us watching…

😉
