“Ask Me No Questions, And I’ll Tell You No Lies”…
GHers, we’d have a better chance of finding a needle in a haystack than finding an honest person in Port Charles among today’s players.
Thing is, they are all such good liars, that they have all adopted …”Ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no lies” as their personal code.
The only way to get truthful answers out of any of these people is to NEVER ask them any questions!
Luke Spencer lies like a rug! My goodness, he is milking this fake illness for all it’s worth! It got him back in to the Quartermaine Mansion, so at least one mission is accomplished, and it seems to have gotten him back into Tracy’s good graces, so I guess that’s another one he can check off his list. Knowing Luke the way we do, I’m sure that somewhere on that list is getting his hands on some of the Quartermaine cash, but he’s probably not going to rush that one…you know, he doesn’t want to show his hand before the time is right. I do love that Luke’s lies have brought the entire Q-Clan together. It’s great to see Monica, Edward, and Alice!
I’m not really sure what Lisa’s intentions were in going over to see Robin at Uncle Mac’s house, but I guess it’s a really good thing she did. With Robin falling down the stairs and knocking herself out, who knows what might have happened to that adorable little Emma! I have to say that I was stumped by Lisa’s behavior. I mean, of course, I didn’t really expect her to leave Robin to die, but when she went in calling Robin “Sweetie”, it kinda threw me for a loop! It works for Lisa’s plan that she was able to play the hero, because now Robin will really look crazy when she accuses Lisa of trying to hurt her or Emma. Lucky for Robin, it appears that Liz has informed Lisa that she’s got Robin’s back. *rolling my eyes*
Ummm…where exactly does Liz get off? Is it me or is Liz really only good at playing two roles? Saccharin sweet angel, or Snarky Snark. I mean does this chick have a middle ground? The look she gave Lisa when Lisa asked about Emma’s party was something else! If Liz only knew that the last nurse to get on Lisa’s nerves ended up at the bottom of a stairwell – dead, with a broken neck. The minute Liz opened her mouth, she was in snark mode, and it only got worse as she went along, but when said, “I’m no saint, so I’m not going to presume to judge your affair with a married man,” I was like, “Really?” Liz ONLY knows how to get hot for a man when either he belongs to someone else (Zander, Jason) or when she does (Nikolas). In fact, all three of her “little angels” have been conceived not in love, but in a web of lies and deceit, and I include Aiden because no one would have been able to hide his paternity if she hadn’t been sleeping with Nikolas all that time. And as far as being Robin’s friend irrevocably, it didn’t stop Liz from sleeping with Emily’s man. How about when Liz actually had the nerve to say to Lisa, “You parade your professionalism around here, and being all the victim, just knowing that your very presence pushes her buttons”? If Liz were to replace the word professionalism with the words, “Saint Act”, and the phrase “pushes her buttons” with “makes people wanna hurl”, she would be describing herself! Yes, Liz, Karma is a bitch. But so are you.
Sonny is about to get caught lying to all the people he lied to about setting the bomb in John’s car that almost killed John and his daughter. How many people did he look square in the eyes and swear that he didn’t do it? Kristina, Alexis, Olivia, Dante, Kristina…all of those people are about to be bitten in the behind for putting their trust in a man who has never really done anything to earn it. Sonny asked Dante to tell Kristina that all he ever wanted was to protect her, because he loved her. *sigh* Is Sonny still really this ignorant? Not only is Kristina going to be devastated, she is probably going to be left incapable of believing anything her father ever says again. How sad. If only Sonny would learn a lesson from this experience, but I already know that probably will not happen.
Speaking of Dante, the more he lies and covers up this secret he and Brenda have, the more I find myself revisiting his betrayal of his brother, Michael, and the aftermath, and the more I find myself getting angry at him. Dante deserves to have the wrath of Carly, Jason, Lulu, and everyone else who has reason to resent his self-righteous hypocrisy. Dante told Ronnie yesterday that Sonny would have to pay for his crime. I just wonder if Dante will be that willing to pay for the dead body they pulled out of the Jersey swamp. Just when Jason lets Dante know that he knows about Dante guarding Brenda n 2007, and asked Dante if he and Brenda were keeping any secrets, Dante turns the conversation around and makes it about Lucky, and the missing Siobhan. What a snake!
As for Dante’s literal partner in crime, there is no going back for Brenda in my book. I cannot see a way that she could make things right, and I cannot forgive her for how she has hurt my Sam. Not only is she selfishly taking up Jason’s life without any regard for Sam – after all, she knows that when Jason is sitting at her bedside in the middle of the night, he’s obviously not with Sam, she continues to lie to save her own ass, and hers and Dante’s secret. Brenda has not once uttered a word about the apology she owes Sam for making a stupid, self-seeking decision that could’ve gotten Sam killed! Nor does she think about how this is still dangerous to Jason to be dealing with an enemy he knows nothing about, and has no idea about why he’s coming after Brenda. It leaves Jason with a huge disadvantage in this battle! It makes me sick that she can go spend time with Edward, take something that belonged to Lila, and then choose to lie to Jason’s face, even if it’s only because she’s not volunteering the truth.
My only hope is that when their “Secret” comes out, it blows their Servant Heart Facades sky high! The ASEC volunteer and Mr. Serve and Protect are not at all who they seem to be. I just cannot wait until everyone else sees what I see.
A day without Sam in Port Charles is like a day without sunshine…let’s hope it’s sunny and beautiful on Port Charles today!
Please don’t forget to call, email, mail, tweet, and Facebook TBTP about how much we missed our Sam!
Have a great weekend!
Angelique

BASIC INSTINCTS
Everyone has them, but not everyone uses them. Yup, GHers, I am talking about Basic Instincts; the internal warning system that we should use before making decision about people, situations, life.
Having watched General Hospital for years, I, like most of you, can trace people’s histories in Port Charles quite a ways back. I can also trace their biggest mistakes down a path of failed or unused Basic Instincts. How different (and probably boring) life in PC would be if everyone paid attention to their Basic Instincts all the time.
😉
It is after all, a soap, designed to take us on a daily ride of emotion – from wonderful highs to sad, depressing lows that make us feel like watching something else from now on. I can tell you with all certainty that GH Writers have accomplished that very well in the past few days.
I received the most heartwarming DM from a Twitter pal who told me that after Tuesday’s show, she was done with GH. DONE. (How many of us Sam loving viewers weren’t tempted?) Then she read yesterday’s blog, and was sucked back into watching. I cannot tell you how that tweet made me feel! I hope that you guys all remember that Bella Mafia is here for just that! You guys never have to be sorry about ranting, or leaving your “worried” posts, or saying what’s on your mind. That is how we help each other stay in the game! (Thanks, Frantzie! You made my day!)
On to observing the Basic Instincts of others…
Patrick’s Basic Instincts are probably going to stop working altogether. They’re probably thinking, “Why bother?” Patrick ignores his instincts on a daily basis. That’s how he got into this mess with Lisa. Who can remember when Lisa showed up around this time last year? My instincts were on red alert, and Patrick’s should have been too, but he just kept making one stupid move after another. Here we are, one year later, and he is still fighting his instincts – the ones that told him Lisa was the one dressed up as a witch to scare Robin, the ones that told him he should be at Emma’s birthday party, regardless of what Robin said. Even when those who care about Patrick most are echoing what his most basic of instincts already told him, Patrick shakes them off, too. What a mistake.
Robin is also fighting off her Basic Instincts. She knows that she has to do something to let Patrick know she’s not ready to end their marriage, but her self-preservation instincts are so strong that they overpower her every other instinct. Instead of finding a way to tell Patrick how his actions or words make her feel, Robin comes at him swinging every time. I get that both Robin and Patrick are afraid in different, but equally real ways, but they’ve gotta find a way – for Emma’s sake. Too bad Patrick wasn’t there, since it seems that no one has remembered that Liz’s little Firestarter has a “history” with flames. I have a feeling that both Robin and Patrick are going to regret not making a bigger effort to be together on Emma’s birthday.
Very rarely does Mac Scorpio get a mention on my blog, but it’s not because I don’t love him, it’s because he very rarely gets a storyline. I’m still not sure he really has one, but for today, his Basic Instincts will. How is it that the Police Chief of Port Charles not only doesn’t have a really good security system, but also doesn’t have a really good smoke detector? I just don’t understand! I can’t even burn toast without having to battle the smoke detector in my house with a kitchen towel for about 10 minutes! I have a feeling that Mac is really going to have a tough time dealing with the fact that he failed to follow his most basic of instincts not just as a professional, but as Uncle Mac to Robin and little Emma!
Tracy Quartermaine is a smart, shrewd, woman with usually really good Basic Instincts. I will never understand how Luke gets away with completely conning her so often! The minute Luke said, “I have no home to be home-cared in,” my radar would have gone wild! All I can come up with is that Tracy has such little practice with being in love, that she forgets how to use them. I just hope that Luke makes himself worthy of her trust and tossed aside instincts this time around.
Carly’s Basic Instincts are usually on overdrive, especially when it comes to the women in who she believes to be her men’s lives. She reminds me of me when I’m PMSing. Once she gets an idea in her head, she becomes obsessive, compulsive, and as single-minded as I do. Trust me, I am so glad that my family only has to put up with me like that for about 24 hours per month! Carly is like this ALL OF THE TIME. She is now obsessed with the idea that Brenda and Dante shared a past, and is going to do everything she can to prove it. I loved that she was in Dante’s face first thing in the morning, before his defenses were really in place, because just as I am sure Carly predicted, he walked right into her trap. Way to go, Carly! Bring both those liars down!
Miss Lulu is a Spencer, therefore a natural born liar. Meaning that her Basic Instincts, especially when it comes to spotting another liar, should be in tip-top shape. Lulu has been picking up on something strange with her Mr. Perfect for weeks, and I saw that look cross her face when Carly called Dante out on his newfound Brenda Admirer Status. Let’s see how she handles it when she realizes just how long he’s been lying via omission! I have a feeling Mr. Perfect won’t seem all that perfect too much longer!
I happen to think I have great instincts. (Most people think they do) However, I will admit that because of my life experience, my Basic Instincts can occasionally become animalistic – and everyone and everything around me in those situations feel like prey. Funny story – when my hubby of 20 years and I started dating, I was convinced that he would cheat. After all my mother raised both me and my sister with the mantra that EVERY MAN WILL CHEAT. So, I was convinced that anytime he left the house without me, he was on his way to cheat. I would check. I would drive by with friends to spy. I would leave my Dictaphone from work under his seat in the car with a fresh tape and new batteries so that I could hear any and everything going on while I was not there. I know – this was not way to live, but I was just a kid, trying to avoid being head over heels in love with someone who was bound to cheat, so my goal was to catch him before I became a victim. I love my husband for a lot of different reasons, but one of the biggest reasons was that he patiently endured that sad phase of my life, mostly because his Basic Instincts told him that I just needed to learn a new set of Basic Instincts, and stop living out my mom’s. It took a lot of time, and a lot of embarrassing moments where I got “busted” spying or secretly recording him, but in time, I learned to find and trust my own instincts. Twenty years later, I have never been sorry. A lot of that has to do with the fact that he doesn’t give me reason to question my instincts.
I have to tell you all that occasionally, Jason makes me dig through twenty years of healing and a happy, functional marriage, in search of those instincts my mom handed down to me. I love my JaSam so much, that it truly hurts me to watch Jason hurting Sam, even when it’s unintentional. That hurt, and that fear of revisiting old lapses in judgment, and past mistakes makes me react with that old set of instincts. The second I saw Brenda fall into Jason’s arms, and the second I watched Sam have to see it, all of my alarms went off. I wanted Sam to run fast and far away before she could be hurt by Jason’s cheating…AGAIN.
Sam has really good instincts. I think she senses something is not right, but I think she too, learned a new set of Basic Instincts along the road of recovery from her last heartbreak to where she is now. There are times when we have to face our fears, and instead of lashing out at them and running, we have to stand there and really face them, until we realize that what we feared isn’t nearly as big as its shadows. Sam ignored the voices of all of our old fears and past hurts, and instead of running, she faced her fear. Yes, she is afraid to lose Jason, but Jason isn’t hiding. This thing with Brenda is out in the open, and painfully, but unbeknownst to Jason, right in Sam’s face. This is what Jason does. He plays Hero to anyone in need of a hero. Certainly, most of us would have been gone by the time Jason left Brenda’s needy ass, but certainly none of us would have gotten involved with a man who tried to warn us off because of his many responsibilities, either. Sam did. At that point, Sam’s Basic Instincts told her that she could trust Jason again, and that though nothing is guaranteed, the benefits of being with the man she loves far outweighed the risk to her once shattered heart. Would that have been my choice? Hell to the no. Would it have been your choice? Probably not. But it was Sam’s choice, and unlike the ones who came before, Sam is not backing down on her choice. Not yet anyway. I believe that Sam’s instincts are still sharp. I believe she’ll take it day by day, and situation by situation. I have to admit that I am glad Sam doesn’t live by my Basic Instincts, or there would not have been another shot at this great love we are such passionate fans of. I’ll try my best to support Sam’s choices and let Sam trust her instincts, and should they fail her, she will have gained another valuable experience, and will be better and even stronger for it.
You know, I am a Jason fan, regardless of what my tweetstream says. It’s just that I often want Jason to live by my Basic Instincts instead of his. Jason’s Basic Instincts are driven by black and white. Whether because of his brain injury or his need to live in survival mode because of his profession, Jason doesn’t really think or deal in gray areas. He knows what he knows. He knows that Sam is the woman he loves. He knows that Brenda is the woman he needs to protect. He knows that something is off. He knows that there’s a missing piece to the puzzle. Ne knows all of those things in absolute, single terms. He doesn’t connect them as we would. We watch and say, Jason is protecting Brenda, and it’s hurting the woman he loves, and in his quest to find out what’s off, he’s becoming more and more involved and less and less in tune with Sam’s feelings. We are all upset with Jason over who he is, and what his instincts are. I guess that’s not really fair. So I apologize for giving in to my fears, and holding Jason to a standard he could never really meet.
From now on, I will try to judge Jason for what he is capable of only. I may not always achieve that goal, and my tweets during GH may reflect my failures, but I will try.
Will you try too? Will you also try to leave our Basic Instincts aside and let Jason and Sam trust their own? I think we’ll be much happier viewers that way.
😉
When tempted, I will remember that Jason allowed himself to be comforted by holding the love of his life in his arms as he slept. I will be comforted by the same thing.

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY
November 3 (Don’t ask me how, but yesterday I thought it was the 4th, so I posted clips for November 4th. So today, I will backtrack and post the Nov. 3rd clips! Sorry!)
2004: http://bit.ly/bm03AH Even here, Jason forgets a promise he made to Sam because of other responsibilities. *sigh* Jason asks Sam a question here, and then is kinda terrified to hear the answer. (LOVE IT!) This whole conversation was EEEEEEEEE-worthy!
2005: Part 1 – http://bit.ly/cIaFib I will say this again. Robin and Sam could have been really great girlfriends! What a wasted opportunity! Part 2 – http://bit.ly/dxG0wD
2006: http://bit.ly/adpw1A Gosh, I wish they’d have to go on the run again – for a long, long time!
2008: http://bit.ly/aqvB2y This was when JaSam EXPLODED back onto our screens, and into our lives again! And *just like that* GH became watchable again! Let’s remember how happy we were with THESE scenes, with watching them in the same room together, and then what we have today will seem like a FEAST! (Psych 101)

“What If”…
It may be Raining Cats and Dogs in Jersey, but according to The Divas, “It’s Raining Men” on Daytime!
This cheered me up this morning…don’t know if you’ve seen this, but even if you have, it’s worth watching again…JaSam is featured several times! http://sn.soapnet.go.com/video/its-raining-men-the-divas
I say this cheered me up, because I was a little down in the dumps this morning when I read the bad news about the ratings for last week. I cannot, however, say I was surprised, as I must admit something that is kind of hard for me to do, especially on this blog. I’VE HAD A HARD TIME WATCHING THESE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS.
The truth, they say, shall set you free. I’m hoping it does just that. Here are the Soap Opera Ratings for Last Week – September 20-24 (most notably the week that was touted as Jason and Brenda: Together Again, both on ABC and SOAPnet.

If this isn’t truth…I just don’t know what is.
Our GH Writers must see here that Jason and Brenda is NOT what anyone wants to see. GH was really doing well for itself in the ratings as of late…it HURTS me to see it go down so much!
Now would be a great time to call them and let them know what we do want to see more of onscreen: That’s JaSam!
And please…if you have Facebook, please go on and support our couple with positive comments! You can do the same on SOAPnet. The haters are back out in Full Force now that none of the Brenda rumors went down with Jason!
Thanks!
Speaking of SOAPnet, I don’t know how many of you watched the “What Ifs” on SOAPnet, but most of them were enjoyable to watch. I thought it was a cute idea, and a nice way to bring attention to all of the soaps, no matter which soap is your favorite.
You know, the premise of the “What If” series was to give us a glimpse of what could happen. As I watched GH this week, my brain was constantly drifting off into “What If” mode…
What If…Patrick had not been thinking with his…minor, and actually used his new and improved quick-thinking brain before he slept with Lisa? Suddenly, Patrick sees everything Lisa does as suspect. I’m surprised he didn’t think there was a rufie in that coffee Lisa brought to the PCPD for him. Had Patrick used any of this newfound discernment just a couple of months ago, he could have avoided all of this!
What If…Robin had thought better of driving while feeling slightly loopy? I have to tell you that if I ever left my kid abandoned in a tree during a snow storm, I would NEVER drive her anywhere again if I had as much as the sniffles, much less a sense of being disoriented! Robin is sitting in that ditch talking to Emma about staying alive, when maybe she should be promising to let her dad drive her anywhere she needs to go from now on. Or maybe she can hire someone like Nanny Viola…she drives Molly around, and delivers flowers! Robin can kill two birds with one STONE! Speaking of Stone,
What If… Stone came back as the kind of ghost that GL’s Cassie had when Richard died? Does anyone remember those visits? I would have liked to see Robin get some payback on Patrick, even if it was only part of her delusions. I think the fans would have liked to see that, too! Having Stone back was great…I just wish he’d given Robin some body heat while she’s down in that well!
What If…Claire had not completely lost her mind the first time Sonny kissed her? Would she have recognized that he is playing her like a second-rate fiddle? Would she have noticed that Max was probably trying not to laugh out loud when Sonny said Claire was one of a kind? Would Claire have really gone to the island to be the 735th woman to be brought there for one reason and reason only – to satisfy Sonny’s need to feel needed, if she knew that Sonny was just using her to try and get over Brenda again? What if that scene of Sonny barefoot was really just a hint to Claire being barefoot…and pregnant, as I heard no discussion about protection? Honestly, if Sonny makes one more baby, we need to call Bob Barker to start a campaign to get him neutered!
What If…Spinelli had to listen to Sam go on and on about how she broke into the PCPD to steal their security footage tape that might’ve caught Maxie and Matt “rockin’ the supply closet, and how NOW she understands why Maxie can’t stop talking about how hot Matt Hunter is? Or what if Sam went on and on about how, while Franco was at the Penthouse, she could totally see why Maxie and Franco did it the first night they met? After all, he is Dangerous and Delicious, and she totally gets why Maxie calls his male private anatomy… “The Divine One”? I kinda wish Sam would do it once, just so that Spin can have a taste of how it feels when your friend is so insensitive to your feelings; the way Spin has been insensitive to Fair Samantha’s feelings. I wished for one second that I could strangle him with that vacuum cleaner cord, and send all those “blooms” to his hospital room, where Matt Hunter would be his doctor, and Maxie’s underwear would be hanging out of Matt’s lab coat pocket. Yes, I’m angry at Spinelli…and yes, he deserves it!
What If…Jason had the foresight to see that he really needs to make Sam feel as cherished as she deserves? What is he came down those stairs and took her in his arms, and kissed her right there in front of Brenda? What if he then dug in his pockets and pulled out a couple bags of airplane peanuts that he had to pay off a flight attendant for? What if the only thing he brought back from Italy was a diamond encrusted star keychain, because being in Italy reminded him of the shooting star they saw 5 years ago, while there looking for Michael? What if Jason told her she looked even more beautiful than he remembered, and that he had a pink tie that would go perfectly with that dress, then whisked her up those stairs to his room, leaving Brenda standing there with a blank stare on her face? (Well a more blank stare than the one she wears now)
And…What If…Sam could really see what we see? That she’s the best thing that ever happened to Jason? That her beauty comes from so deeply within her that it overshadows Brenda in any room? What if Sam remembered that Jason went after Brenda because of obligation, but he has always gone after Sam because of LOVE? What if Sam realized that Jason needs to be reminded of what he has in her?
What If…we all called end emailed and tweeted and Facebooked our love and support for Sam, and her gorgeous and talented portrayer, Kelly Monaco on a daily basis? What if the writers are finally getting that Kelly deserves writing that celebrates her strength and beauty, and shows her in a positive, empowering light, and they just need a little positive feedback from us in order to keep it going, or even kick it up a notch? Friends, this may be the only What If we have any power or influence over.
Let’s make it happen!
Like you, I am awaiting the exciting follow-up to yesterday’s rare Thursday Cliffhanger of having Sam, Brenda, and Jason come face to face.
What If it turned out better than we anticipate?
You never know…
Angelique

Happy Hump Day, GHers!
Can you believe it’s already Wednesday? We are one day closer to the end of Jason’s Roman Disaster! I, for one, cannot wait!
Does anyone remember the soap “Search For Tomorrow”? Another canceled soap that went down because of ratings back in the early 80’s. I was thinking about that soap, and it got me thinking. These days, as far as General Hospital goes, I truly live in Search For Tomorrow…
‘Til then, let’s discuss the other happenings in Port Charles, shall we?
Robin has tried and tried, but she remains in the well, thanks to the Mad Plotter, Lisa. Can I just say that Lisa is one hell of a planner! I mean, if I ever tried to set up a trap like that for someone, you can bet your bottom dollar that I would forget where the dumb hole was and would end up in the well myself! Everything Lisa does turns out pretty much as planned for her. No wonder she can’t stop smiling. Of course it has been very helpful to Lisa that Robin and Patrick have tried to handle Lisa on their own. Robin was talking to Emma from down below, and mentioned Grandma Anna, which leads me to believe that Robin remembers who her mother is, and makes me wonder why Robin hasn’t reached out to her butt-kicking spy mom, and asked her to handle Lisa! Well, the one positive about Robin’s lack of common sense is that she’s now become delirious, and she can spend time with her first love, Stone. Why Search For Tomorrow when you can revisit the past?
Robin’s crime-fighting hubby is about as effective as Robin is at the bottom of the well when he’s trying to act like he doesn’t care where Robin is – only that she abandoned Emma. *sigh* If only he knew what we knew – that Lisa is just sitting back, laughing at his dumb ass trying to play her smart one. Thank goodness that Uncle Mac has finally figured out what the Port Charles mobsters and dirty cops have known all along – that in order to get things done, you have to break the rules, and usually the law. Mac not only gets Lisa’s car and apartment illegally powdered and searched, he goes as far as walking into General Hospital and arresting her! I love that Lisa remained as cool as a cucumber when Mac got in her face spouting off about Ryan Chamberlain, Faith Roscoe, and Jerry Jacks (clue #17 that he’s coming back to PC). I loved even more when she sat there using reverse psychology on Mac. Oh! The joys of an intelligent villainess! One of the few I have left as I continue on my Search For Tomorrow!
Was I the only one to groan aloud at seeing Olivia and Johnny’s reunion? What is it about this relationship that rubs me the wrong way? It’s not the age difference – more power to her for scoring a younger man, but something about seeing them together just irks me. It could be the on again-off again thing they’ve got going, or it could be that they’ve barely made up before they’re sucking face, or maybe it’s just that I’d much rather see Johnny with someone else. Either way, I was happy to have Maxie interrupt. I can see why Maxie would come to Johnny and not Sonny – she and Sonny do not have a connection of any kind, whereas Maxie and Johnny have a few. I like their dynamic, and maybe this little event will help them to spend more time together, but I guess they’ll leave that Search For Tomorrow…as Johnny got right back to where he left off with Liv.
No interruption was more warranted, or needed, sweet heavens, than Molly’s interruption of Sonny and Claire’s Second Date. There are few things that I want to see less of than Claire in a Snuggi for Mobsters, and Sonny wearing his charm and his dimples as an ensemble as they “snuggle” on the couch like a real couple! Yuk! I love Molly and her wisdom! I think she is wise beyond her years, and most of the adults in her life could stand to learn a thing or two from her! Molly handled both Ms. Federal Prosecutor and Uncle Sonny with just the right balance of censure and condescension. Sonny tried to explain his “adult” behavior to his 11 year-old niece, but if only Sonny would take a minute to Search For Tomorrow’s fallout from his choices, he might save himself and those involved a whole lot of grief! Even Max (I ❤ Derk Cheetwood!) has seen and heard all of this before…and he knows it will end badly!
Topping my list of reasons for my urgent Search For Tomorrow is to finally see Jason leave Rome and that room I hope to never see again, and find his way back to Sam! Second on that list is the hope that Brenda will do a lot less of that incessant and annoying whining when she’s back in Port Charles, where not everyone worships the ground she walks on, or will be willing to put up with her tantrums. Can I just say that Brenda needs Robin to get her an appointment with her pal, Dr. Lainey Winters right away! Brenda needs some mood-stabilizing meds or something…I know I do after everyone of her scenes!
I wonder if Jason has wondered how Sam must be handling his absence. Has he just completely taken for granted that Sam can deal with losing Jason to prison, to searching for Franco, to helping Carly, her kids, her dog (does she have a dog?) so well that she’ll “be okay” with this latest absence too? Jason said it once before, so I’ll just agree with him: He’s pretty clueless about women – especially the one he loves. I am thinking that his continued cluelessness will lead Jason to have to look carefully to his past mistakes, his past hurts, his past loss of the woman he loves most – and the only woman “to get him”, and revisit what his life was like without her. Then he needs to prove to her that he’s not willing to lose her in any way, shape, or form, and that he’s willing to fight for her love and trust. Only then will Jason be able to Search For A Tomorrow filled with happiness, and shared with His Fair Samantha.
Hang in there folks! Our Search For Tomorrow will not end in disappointment…I Still Believe in the Magic of JaSam!
😉
Much love,
Angelique

WATCH YOUR BACK…
Hola, GHers!
I have to admit that my GH watching and subsequent blogging is just not the same without my beloved JaSam, but because without General Hospital on the air, we would have no JaSam, I will continue to encourage us all to keep watching and supporting our favorite daytime drama…even on the days without sunshine! After all, when we watch, we are bound to find The Beauty of GH somewhere…
Lucky and his storyline are the biggest part of The Beauty of GH for me at the moment. Lucky lately has been someone his mother could be proud of. He stopped Liz’s Reign of Deceit over his life, and stuck to it; yet he helped her find her baby, and wouldn’t give up until that baby – his baby, was back home. But even then – he walked away and didn’t look back. Lucky can handle Maxie, his siblings, his father’s craziness, and even Tracy’s “secret” need to have him search for Luke. Lucky is a new man. Confident. Kinda sexy. Smarter. And he can fake an Irish accent to boot! We had a neighbor once whose grandfather came from Ireland for foot surgery…and he sounded exactly like Lucky! LOL! I am really happy that Jonathan Jackson was not shackled to LnL2 as his only storyline. He deserves to be more involved on the canvas, especially with RH’s maternity leave. I think this will be an exciting storyline for Lucky, and dangerous as hell! Too bad Starsky (Dante) didn’t say to Hutch (Lucky), “Watch your back!” Lucky’s definitely going to need to. This Irish pub gets more violence than Jake’s…and that’s sayin’ somethin’.
I do kinda wish he had asked Sam for her “help”, maybe it would give Jason a sour taste of his own medicine! After all, Sam could have said to Jason, “I’m only going because it’s an emergency.” One ex “whatever” deserves another, don’t ya think? *bats eyelashes innocently*
Another day of…Dante and…Lulu waking up and slobbering before they could wipe the sleep out of their eyes. *rme* So Lucky was smart enough to tell Dante where he was just in case he disappears, and Dante imparted some of his all-knowing wisdom. Not long after that, Dante gave Lulu some wind beneath her wings AND found her shoe, and then was off to Madison, where apparently he gets called for emergencies before Carly or Jax or even Jason. *rme AGAIN* Dante was able to solve the Scooby-Doo type mystery surrounding Michael’s fight in one segment, then tried to be Dr. Phil to Michael upon bringing him back to Dante’s Safe (But Oversexed) Safe Haven. Hey, SUPERMAN, watch your back! It seems Dante has already stolen your cape!
Jax earned some major points with me by getting Brenda taken off the cover of Crimson once he realized how much it was hurting Carly, and I give him points for hearing, and seeing, and feeling how much it was hurting her. Not many guys are that good with their senses when it comes to hurting the women they love. *cough cough* Not that Carly was very subtle – she was screaming it at him every chance she got, but even so, since Carly screams about everything all the time, Jax could have still missed it if he wasn’t paying attention. While Jax did the right thing, and he’s certainly saying all the right things to put Carly’s worries to rest, I would still offer the same advice to Carly if I were her BFF: “Watch your back!” Brenda is so needy, and so self-absorbed (kinda like you) that she will suck up all those men you hold so dear in a hot second!
Michael is a really good brother. A REALLY REALLY GOOD BROTHER. He decided to go back to preppy, snobby Madison Prep, in spite of the fact that he knew he’s be ridiculed, bullied, and provoked at every turn. He still went anyway, just so he wouldn’t let his little sister down. More and more I am pulled into Michael’s pain and vulnerabilities, and that’s because of Chad Duell’s portrayal. It’s those puppy dog eyes of his. They get me every time. He is also doing a really good job balancing his acting. He’s hurting, angry,a nd jaded without being over the top. I think I see a little Steve Burton in his gestures, and how he uses his voice. Nice job, Chad! As for Michael, even though Dante ad Taylor came to the rescue today, I’d say. “Watch your back!” There’s nothing like a bunch of obnoxious and entitled teens to get you going when you’re on the verge of punching your fist through a wall.
Kristina has finally met a boy her age who cares enough about her to stand up for her and her brother, regardless of the consequence. Even I like Taylor. Unfortunately, Taylor, you need to “Watch your back!” You see, the sweet and charming Ethan Lovett continues to endear himself to Kristina – always knowing what to say and when. Kristina really won’t be able to help but fall a little more for Ethan every single time she talks to him, and as much as I like Taylor, I can’t even blame Kristina.
I believe that Ethan is simply trying to help Kristina. However, I also think Ethan may find that he is more drawn to Kristina’s innocence and obvious worship of him than he is willing to admit even to himself, which may make him try even harder to make something happen with Maya. But if Maya is tempted to go into this with her eyes closed and her fingers crossed, I’d say, “Watch your back!” Never underestimate the power of a crush!
Nikolas and Brook are growing on me with every passing day. I like watching Tyler Christopher onscreen, and I love to watch Nik’s animal-like prowess. He really does do some kind of mating dance with just about every chick, and it makes for good segments, that’s for sure. As Nikolas said, I don’t think he’d give Brooke a chance to scam him. No, my “Watch your back” warning is for Brooke. This hottie can and will sneak up on your weaknesses, and before you know it…you will be on your back…just not necessarily working.
The Patrick/Lisa/Robin triangle is quickly becoming square, as now poor Steve Webber has been dragged into the fracas. Those contemplating an extra-marital affair beware: You know your marriage is in trouble when the only conversations you can have with your spouse are at the PCPD with your commissioner uncle watching. Patrick, Robin, and even Steve think they have Lisa completely fooled, but it’s not that easy. One wrong move, or one overly loud whisper could turn this whole thing around on them. So I’d say to the justice seeking docs, “Watch your backs!” The most dangerous threat is the one you never see coming.
To Spinelli, I say “Watch your back, Grasshopper!” You see, what goes around…comes around. I hear Maxie is due back in your “orbit” soon. *evil smile* Til then…let me remind you of what a good friend Sam has been: http://bit.ly/bvfU0b (she breathed you life, you TURD!) and http://bit.ly/cJfkMx (and then saved your backstabbing ass!) and http://bit.ly/9BdIcq (and then agreed to take your bumbling behind off Jason’s hands and give you a job!)
Much love to the rest of you…
Angelique

LIFE’S PURPOSE
TGIF GHers!
I have always told my kids that the secret to a happy, fulfilled life is to make sure that you are fulfilling your life’s purpose. Perhaps I am so adamant about the success rate of that philosophy because in the couple of decades that I got to wake up and go to work at a job that I felt called to do, I left my house knowing that I was doing just that – fulfilling my Life’s Purpose. For those of you who are teachers, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Children are so malleable, so trusting, so open, that if we just pray for wisdom and patience, there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t leave our jobs feeling as though we accomplished a great work! Sometimes, though, life hits a road bump, or takes a turn that leads you away from the path most loved and known. Then what?
Well…then you have to find a new purpose…even if it’s only temporary. That’s how Bella Mafia got started. Each of you has been such an important part of giving me a sense of purpose while I’m unable to live out the purpose I’d had more than half of my life. So for all the thanks you guys give me for being here, I owe you each a million thanks for being out there, and for making me feel like I’m doing something grand.
😉
There are some purposeful people trying to love out their own Life’s Purpose in Port Charles, but sometimes it’s not so easy.
Dante Falconeri thought he knew what his one and only purpose was for most of his life. To serve and protect. Sure at times it seems that his only purpose now is to suck face with his girlfriend, but I still believe that Dante is clear on his Life’s Purpose. Then he found out he was the son of the Godfather of Port Charles, and even though Dante still strives to put Sonny behind bars, there is a bit of a conflict now. You see, formerly only-child Dante is now big brother to three siblings (that we know of), and while his methods are sometimes questionable to those around him (and to me), I do believe that Dante loves Michael, Kristina, and Morgan, and wants what’s best for them. In this case, Dante thinks that the truth about their father’s guilt – or innocence – is what’s best for them, and seeks to find that truth. The conflict comes in knowing that the PCPD and the process in place may not be the way to get to the truth. So once again, Dante is forced to work with his father’s enforcer, and natural enemy, Jason, and by extension Spinelli, to try and track down the truth by any means necessary – legal or not. No doubt, this hunt for the truth will call Dante’s commitment to the badge and upholding the law into question, and not for the first time since finding out that Sonny was his father. Who will stand by Dante in his latest quest for truth, and to serve and protect family first?
You know how now there is a like a mini-holiday for just about every day or week or month on the calendar, and no one told you? You know what I’m referring to – National CLean Off Your Desk Day, or National Pet Lovers Week? I think it must be Tortured Cops Month and no one tweeted about it. While Dante is trying to prove his father’s guilt or innocence, his fellow PCPD brother, Lucky Spencer, is working just as hard to make his father’s guilt look like innocence. Lucky has been struggling between his vow to the brotherhood and his Spencer bloodlines and loyalties. We know he was tempted by John’s “offer” to live with the sinners, even though his commitment to The Lil’ Illegitimates has been Lucky’s Life Purpose since he got clean and promised Jason that he would keep his son safe and give him a good life. Now that Liz has whisked those boys away from Lucky’s orbit, the Spencer itch is making an appearance. I’m not sure what Lucky was doing with that oversized earpiece, but thank God I wasn’t using one of those when I was on Operation: Undercover JaSamRadio, or I would have been busted for sure! My hubby would have spotted that enormous thing from across the street! I guess the budget for Technology in Port Charles is another casualty of the economy! Luckily for Lucky, before he could get caught up in some black market antiquities fiasco, Interpol showed up at his apartment to rescue him, only so that they could throw him into the fire. Lucky is so out of touch with his Spencer side that he almost actually confessed to something, coughed up his Dad, and landed them both in jail. Maybe John or Jason could remind Lucky to say nothing without his attorney. How freaky was that pic of the obviously dead Lucky double on the slab? It caught me by surprise, what about you?
Lucky’s brother, Nikolas has always struggled with his legacy and Life’s Purpose. As Prince of the island of….we’ll just call it Feta for now (it’s the only Greek word I’m familiar with, really and my memory sucks) he had huge responsibilities thrown on his shoulders at a much too early age, and against his will. However, with all the tragedy and doom and gloom that comes with his legacy, Nikolas became a better person than his family was capable of breeding partly because he is Laura Spencer’s son, and in other part because for a long time, his chosen Life’s Purpose was to love and care for Emily Quartermaine. Once removed from their saintly presences, Nikolas dove back into the Cassadine gene pool for a swim. After a series of very different women, from the girl scout Nadine to the devious Claudia to the saccharin sweet by day/sneaky slut by night Liz, Nikolas has struggled with which of his personas he wants to keep. While Nik may be far from perfect, he is almost always perfectly princely when it comes to a new prospect. Brook Lynn doesn’t stand a chance – that girl’s Victoria’s Secret clearance bin panties are going to drop in a hot second. The one thing Nikolas has always been is sexy, and once he sets his eyes on his prey, he always looks as though he’s ready to pounce. Brook Lynn might have at least listened a little better to Alexis. Getting Brook Lynn into bed may just have become Nik’s Temporary Life’s Purpose.
Ever since Robin contracted HIV from, and then lost her first love, Stone Cates, Robin Scorpio’s Life’s Purpose has been to research ways to improve the lives of her patients. It’s a very noble Life’s Purpose indeed. By comparison, Patrick Drake’s Life Purpose was born of wanting to be a better surgeon than his estranged father, and once accomplished, his Life’s Purpose has since become to be better than…well, anyone. While pompous and extremely cocky, it’s still a pretty noble Life’s Purpose. Once they fell in love, the Scorpio-Drake doctor team adopted a shared Life’s Purpose, which was to give their daughter, Emma the best life possible, while saving the world, one General Hospital patient at a time. However, with Life Interrupted brought to you by Infidelity, Patrick knows that the only way to keep his family safe, and possibly even keep his family, he must make it his Life’s Purpose to prove that Robin is innocent, and his former lover, Lisa is a psychotic bitch. Good luck with that, Patrick.
Sometimes I wonder what exactly Carly’s Life Purpose really is. Is it to be a good mother, and steady presence in their lives? Sometimes, but not nearly steadily enough. Is it to work on rebuilding her marriage to Jax, so that together they could have the life they’ve claimed to want so badly? Occasionally, but she lacks commitment. Is it to interrupt Jason and Sam’s alone time for the rest of their lives? Most of the time, and it gets on my nerves. But most consistently, Carly’s Life Purpose is to keep herself and Sonny rotating around each other’s worlds. Carly barely had time to enjoy the afterglow of hers and Jax’s hot romp before she was back at Jason’s PH being a pain in my ass, and Jason’s as well. Why does Carly care that Sonny might have gone after Brenda? Because it’s still about who wins? Why did she care about Sonny and Claire? Or Sonny and Claudia? Sonny and Kate, Emily, Reese, Alexis, Hannah, the list goes on and on, but the question is the same? Why does Carly care? Why can’t she move on with her own life, focus on her marriage and her beautiful kids, leave Jason to Sam, and make it her Life’s Purpose to build a Sonny-free life? I wish I had the answer my friends, but Carly is a tough nut to crack.
Jason’s Life Purpose has always been to protect those he loves, and those loved by those he loves. It’s who he became after his life-altering accident, and it’s his most basic instinct. For Jason, those commitments made for a very lonely and disappointing life for a long time. Even when he chanced the rare entanglement, he was always hurt and letdown when those who convinced him to take a chance then realized they couldn’t really accept Jason as he was. Jason seemed to grow immune to it, and by the time his marriage ended with Courtney, I thought he was almost unaffected. It’s a tough Life’s Purpose to have. Then came Sam, who started out as one of his Life’s Purpose assignments. Sam, whose own Life’s Purpose was to protect herself at all costs, was about as closed off to love as Jason was. I still marvel at how these two, both coming off of really hurtful and disappointing relationships, swore to keep up those walls and not let anyone else in, but were both tearing at those walls themselves within weeks just to be able to be there for the other. Jason was a bundle of emotions for Sam from the first moment he felt her baby kick in Puerto Rico, and Sam was so swept away with what it felt like to have someone genuinely care that she could barely look at Jason without her feelings shining in her eyes. Watching their separate Life’s Purposes slowly but surely become one – first over Sam’s baby, and then out of love for each other, has given us some of the best daytime TV ever! In the past year, their renewed and rediscovered love for each other has brought us all back to life! Their shared Life’s Purpose has been to reestablish and to rebuild the incomparable love story they share, and we’ve been lucky enough to watch. Along comes angst to be that bump in the road, but that’s all it will be! I am convinced of that! Hey, it won’t be the first time that Jason’s individual Life’s Purpose will intrude on his life with Sam, and it probably won’t be the last time Sam finds herself questioning her place in Jason’s life. Yet, I am a firm believer that it will be the best time for them to prove to each other just how solid they are. They may even have to prove it to some of us, but in turn let’s prove how solid we are in our support and loyalty. No matter what happens when Jason takes off to protect someone that Sonny loves, let’s remember that angst has the amazing power to make Jason and Sam stronger, and as long as they are honest with each other, everything is going to be “better than okay.”
Let’s make it our Soap Lovers’ Life’s Purpose to not let there be a gap in the message we are sending TPTB. If everyone that takes the time to read Bella Mafia did this daily (and voted) any other kinds of calls from any other fan base would be but a lonely whisper! The power is ours! Use it!
Call – call in the morning, call in the afternoon, and call at night. 30 seconds 3 times a day is a lot less time than it takes to watch a JaSam vid, and God knows we don’t want to ever have to depend on JaSam vids to get our JaSam fix. Been there, done that. Shoot out an email from every email address you have available to you – 500 characters is the limit – it will take less than 3 minutes! Remember to be positive in telling them what you want more of and remember to thank them for what we do get. (Especially with the spoiled Sam scenes we’ll be getting with lots of other people)
Steve and Kelly have made it their professional Life’s Purpose to give us their very best all these years. We owe them this much.
Have a great weekend! Holding on for JaSam…

PROMISES, PROMISES…
Promises are easily made, but not always easily kept.
If you watched Wednesday’s GH, you’ll know that the entire episode centered around PROMISES…promises both kept and broken, and even promises that were made yet again.
Robin Scorpio is devastated that her husband Patrick failed to keep the promises he vowed to keep when he promised to love, honor, and cherish his wife, and most certainly did not keep his promise to forsake all others. While Patrick is truly remorseful – there’s no arguing that, it still doesn’t lessen the brutality of the broken promise, or the pain of the broken heart. We know that Patrick is remorseful because the usually proud-as-a-peacock doc was humble to turn to Chief of Staff and former adversary (based solely on Patrick’s conjecture) for a listening ear and even some words of wisdom. How many of you thought it was so creepy to watch Lisa as she stood on the stairs eavesdropping and spilling his tortured guts to Steve? How many of you thought it was even creepier for her to then just walk up as they were still talking, and breezily say good morning? Lisa is beyond psychotic! I loved that Robin had someone to talk to about this – I wish GH would give us more working female relationships! Robin, freshly bolstered from her talk with Maxie, went into the hospital and calmly confronted Lisa. The only problem with that is that Lisa was even calmer than Robin, and basically didn’t even bat an eyelash. As one can only imagine, though Robin seemed to have it together, she really didn’t, and when her husband tried to approach her for a talk, Robin kind of lost it, in front of a pretty larger group. Just as that was happening, Lisa was asking Detective Lucky Spencer about a death threat from Robin! Oh…this is one rollercoaster of a story…all set in motion by broken promises.
Dante has promised to love Lulu and to never hurt her, but involuntarily broke those promises when he was drugged by Brook Lynn and nearly slept with her before Lulu walked in and found them. Really this wouldn’t even be a problem in my book if it weren’t for the fact that Dante is now dreaming about waking up with Brook, instead of Lulu. Lulu, while knowing that Dante was drugged, is still hurt and angry, and is not making it easy for Dante to just pick up where they left off. However, I suspect that Lulu may have figured out that this is not the time to leave any open doors to Dante’s heart…or bed, as Brook cam over and let them both know, in no uncertain terms, that she is waiting eagerly in the wings for that opening. So promises were made by Dante once again, some noble, and some apparently naughty (rme), and everything seems to be just fine in the Loft of Love.
Nikolas and Liz made some promises…just not to each other. They made their promises to their new son (as far as they know), Aiden. They’ve promised to do their best to give Aiden a stable and loving home, and they’ve promised to try to avoid more upset and heartbreak by breaking any more promises than they’ve already broken. Let’s face it – Nikolas and Liz are a Broken Promises Tag Team! It seems that you can run, but you can’t hide from the trail of destruction you’ve left behind. Liz can’t seem to get comfortable living with her innocent children in the Castle of Cheating, because it is a constant and ugly reminder of just how many promises were broken there. Sadly, for Nikolas, hearing that confession Liz made to Baby Aiden won’t be the last time his heart is broken, but it’s hard to dig up too much sympathy for the Prince of Broken Promises. What you put out there….
Jason Morgan has made a heap load of promises to his beloved Fair Samantha. Promises to go back to the island, promises to go back to the cabin, and murmured promises where he promised to go far away where it can “Just You and Me” (and he always manages to say that in his sexiest soap stud voice.) This isn’t the first time Jason has made promises, and it isn’t the first time that I catch myself caught up in his promises as much, if not more than, Sam. When Jason makes those promises with those baby blues burning into my brown eyes – and Sam’s, I find myself holding my breath. And while I thinks Sam wants to believe in those promises too, I have to say that she believes in something else more. Before you wonder if I’ve taken one too many painkillers today and go off to look up spoilers, hear me out, GHers. I think that what Sam believes in more than the promises Jason whispers lovingly is Jason’s intent. Sam must believe that Jason’s intentions are always to keep those promises, and to fulfill the dreams he’s inspired, or she would have lost her ability to still believe in what they share. When we look back at the other women who simply walked, and sometimes run, through Jason’s life, that is where we can always make the distinction between true and unconditional love and temporary and fleeting infatuation. You see, when Courtney and Liz thought themselves Jason’s life partners, they did so based on the promises they wiggled out of him…and when Jason’s life, job, and other commitments kept Jason from keeping every promise, they really couldn’t keep the love going and reality came crashing in on their fairytales. Anger, bitterness, fear, and disgruntled feelings replaced the euphoria of being in Jason’s arms. Not our Sam. When Jason whispers a promise to Sam, she has the ability to think beyond the words and appreciate the intentions. This isn’t all one-sided either. Jason too has been able to get over what happened between them before, because with a little perspective, he too, realized that in the end, it all came down to Sam’s intentions. When Jason and Sam each lost that ability, it led to their collapse as a couple, as partners, as friends. I think that since then, each one was missing a piece of themselves, and they weren’t themsleves. Once they were able to look past the old hurts and consider each other’s intentions in the mistakes that were made, they were able to find their way back to each other and be whole again. I think that’s the beauty of their love story. Now that I think about it, it may be the beauty of our loyalty to Jason and Sam as well. When we get caught up in promises made and promises broken by two people who are as conventional as Mr. & Mrs. Smith, we risk letting our disappointment and letdowns crowd out the fabulosity of their love story. I don’t want to be a Liz or a Courtney. I want to be a Sam. I want to believe that the intention of both Steve and Kelly are to give us a love story that rivals the depth of “The Notebook”, and rivals the love and adventure draw of Luke and Laura. So, I want to recommit to believing in those intentions, and just loving Jason and Sam for it. We may not get our island getaway or an interrupted weekend at the cabin, or our long-awaited wedding, (tears) but I can surely get behind the moments where they promise to try, and I bet I will even enjoy them more when I take in those moment for what they are: Jason and Sam in love. Partners is every sense of the word. Together…and planning to stay that way. I’ll be the one to keep the promises from here on out…promises to support their work and let TPTB know it. Promises to find The Beauty of GH each day and to focus on that, so that I am doing my part to remind people why soaps are a part of our culture that we’re not willing to lose. And a promise to do my part to make Steve and Kelly/Jason and Sam Number One – and to work hard to keep them there! But I can’t do that alone!
Promises, promises…where do you stand?
Off to finally watch Thursday’s episode of GH, and I promise that whether Jason and Sam get 10 minutes or two minutes, I’m gonna find something to love about it and then I’m gonna GUSH over it via email and every comment line available!
‘Til tomorrow, dear readers…

“Where’s The Love?”
Good morning, GHers! Thanks to all of you who took the time to vote on yesterday’s poll! I had to laugh as I monitored some of the reaction from a fan base who was worried over every single vote that came in for JaSam! It was fun! Thanks to Twitter, I know there are fans for “another” fanbase who have vowed to vote every ten 10 minutes because “JaSam” fans are making a dent. That cracks me up…let’s keep it up: http://bit.ly/9AferU
😉
Moving on…
Lately there just hasn’t been much to love about Prince Nikolas Cassadine. He’s been kind of jerky to his brother, Lucky, and totally insufferable towards Luke and Tracy, and just about everyone else. He’s like a Grumpy Old Man who’s still in his thirties. However, I just love Nik when he tells Liz exactly how it is, if only because so few people actually do it. For those of you readers who speak spanish, I think Liz has a case of “mala barriga” with Nikolas. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, it’s what we say when a pregnant woman seems to get sick to her pregnant belly whenever she crosses paths with a person that never seemed to get on her nerves before. Today, Nikolas was just walking along being “princely”, bringing flowers to a terminally ill patient, seemingly aware that the Nippy Nurse wasn’t scheduled to work, when in she comes and snarls at him. Chick! What is your deal? Why must Liz be soooo freakin’ nasty? If a man were treating a woman like this on GH, he would be a hated dog! You know it! In fact, if any other woman treated a man like that after she followed him around and banged him for months behind her fiance’s – and his brother’s – back, she would be likened to the scum of the earth. But alas, because it is the patron saint of Port Charles, it gets swept aside. *shakes head* Though Shirley occasionally calls Liz on her skeevey behavior, it’s Nikolas who really delivers the backhanded blow – the truth. “It wasn’t that long ago that we told each other we loved each other,” he reminded her with grace that could only be called princely, because she certainly isn’t very deserving of it. In other words, “Where’s the Love?” I guess Nik hasn’t figured out that unless Liz is about to experience the big “O”, her love for Nik is hard to find. He has, however, figured out that Liz keeps treating him like trash in hopes of reuniting with Lucky. And can someone help me understand Liz’s way of thinking on the money issue? She tells Nik to mind his own business about her investment and says, “It’s my money” and that she’s making the investment to become financially independent. Ummm…Liz? If it’s YOUR money, you are financially independent already! The whole point is that it’s not her money, and certainly not her money to risk. This chick is wrong on so many levels!
Lucky doesn’t seem to be wasting any time thinking about getting back together with Liz. In fact, he’s got his hands full with his new roomie! Luke has moved in with the cowboy since he was unceremoniously evicted from The Quartermaines. Lucky is a good guy. He not only makes his dad breakfast, he tries to help Luke see the error of his ways when Luke seems to be asking, “Where’s the Love?” as well. They say that at some point, the children must parent their parents. For Lucky, I think it’s kinda always been this way. Even with all of the “wisdom” Lucky imparted, Luke still seems a little clueless about how to win back his Spanky Buns.
Oh how fabulous when Diane is in the ‘hood! Diane: “I’m always so surprised when a man who is so large…” Jason looks up and Diane elaborates and gestures with her hands…”a large man, is so attentive and gentle.” Jason: “Please.” (holds up hand in a halting gesture)
Oh! How I chuckled. Who writes this fabulous stuff? Well, yesterday’s writer was Nathan Fissell, and he made me smile. Diane provides a great sense of balance to The Mob World. In an added bonus, we also got to see Max interacting with Diane! I just love those two, and now that I’ve seen them and watched their “real” interactions in person, I feel like they’re friends. Is that crazy? I just think they are too cute, and they play the Max and Diane romance adorably!
Not so adorably romantic is Claire Walsh. Even when she’s being sympathetic she’s tough, and she has about as much sensitivity as a bee. However, if Claire Walsh can get Jason out of Pentonville, I’ll hug her myself! Just PLEASE GOD! Don’t let Dante The Great be the one to get the credit for this as well! I am in need of a break from Dante. Can’t he go undercover for a while – like really undercover? Or can’t he go visit his family in Brooklyn? Maybe absence really will make my heart grown fonder – let’s just give it a try! I feel as though every time I turn around – there he is. Give me a break.
Dr. Lisa Niles is one sneaky, two-faced, manipulative witch. She runs after Patrick, assuring him of being on his side, promising to convince the chief to reconsider, and worst of all – encouraging him to go drink (and deaden his senses even more). She then turns around and tells the chief, the sweet and gullable Steve Webber, that she is on his side, and she thinks he’s doing the right thing. Steve eats that crap right up! Hey, Lisa! “Where’s the Love?” for either one of those two guys? Wow…Very few people can pull off deception that big without even batting an eyelash! (Carly’s one of them) This is about to get pretty ugly.
Someone whose love we don’t have to question is Franco’s. Franco left his heart in Port Charles, and he doesn’t want anyone to doubt his affection for the harbor town, hence the love notes in the mail. I know some people were done with Franco before he even left the first time, but I am excited for his return! I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – I’ll take Franco as angst and a source of trouble for Jason and Sam over the kind of angst soap couples usually get ANYDAY. (Scrubs/Lisa, Lante/Brook) Heck, I was just watching The Bold and The Beautiful, and Brooke, (whom in case you didn’t know, is one half of the Soap’s Longest Running Supercouple – paramount to Luke and Laura) unknowingly had vertical sex with her daughter’s boyfriend because they were wearing masks! *hurl* As I watched that I shuddered, and thanked James Franco for his fascination with our beloved soap. I never want that kind of crap touching our couple again. We have paid our dues! Besides, Franco is a hottie! Who minds looking at him?
We caught a couple glimpses of Sam yesterday, as the situation with Kristina is quickly heading south. Levelheaded Sam urges Alexis to consider having Jason talk to Johnny. In an unbelievable turn of events, Alexis actually listens to Sam. I much rather have had Sam go talk to Jason, but oh well! Sam’s services seem to be needed close to home, as Sam gets an earful of Kristina begging Johnny not to bail on her. Sam’s Big Sister Instincts kicked into high gear almost immediately. I LOVE SAM!
I hear us JaSam lovers may be in for some good stuff today… *fingers crossed*
😉
On a different note, it’s been a year today since the great Michael Jackson passed away. I thought that to honor his memory, while not abandoning my mission here, I would leave you with a treat.
R.I.P. Michael.
“Heaven Can Wait” http://bit.ly/9UtBGd I wish it had waited a little longer for MJ.
“Butterflies” http://bit.ly/9Thm94 Sweetness…
Don’t waste the day, friends…love and be loved!

“THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY” ~ June 24th
2004: http://bit.ly/b1zlzI I love how gentle Jason was with Sam when she was pregnant!
2005: http://bit.ly/bZXRoN I love that Sam and Jason can be honest enough about their feelings to not pussy foot around! I also love that Jason really tries to apologize!
2009: http://bit.ly/duuBYw Too cute – they are partners in every sense of the word! I love how Sam can reassure him like no one else can!
*JaSam Is Love*
Yesterday In Port Charles…
Readers, I need your help figuring something out. Really.
Is it me? Or is Kristina out of freakin’ control? Kristina telling Alexis, “I thought I could trust you, but you’re going behind my back. Johnny and I are together, and there’s nothing you or dad could do about it!” made my eye twitch! I don’t know how it happens in other households, but I have a 17 year-old daughter, and as long as she’s living in MY house, there is plenty I can do about it! Alexis and Sonny have let this girl get away with too much for too long…she needs tome tough love or something other than a blind eye! Maybe Alexis needs to talk to Olivia about some Bensonhurst parenting, ’cause Dante is a grown man and even he thinks twice about mouthing off to his Ma! We can ALL see that Alexis has a situation…thing is, we saw it a LONG TIME AGO! I do see that Kristina will have to learn the hard way here – as I could see her being swallowed up by what is quickly becoming an infatuation with every word Johnny utters in her defense.
Brooklyn-bred Brook Lynn may not backtalk her ma, but she’s in need of some of her ma’s attention…desperately. Brook is headed down a slippery slope. She tries to work some severance pay from Carly for services already rendered, and in anticipation of a layoff from her “Bust Up Lante” job, but Carly informs her that her assignment is far from over. Brook ain’t arguing much with Carly – for $50,000, she’s gonna do as she’s told and keep an eye of Dante, looking for a way in, but she doesn’t stop there. Brook’s got her other eye on Busy Boy Johnny. She finds yet another attempt to show up at his door – this time soaking wet and in need of shelter. This is what I love about soaps, folks. Where else can a woman set their sights on a hottie, and find a way to get in and get naked in 3 minutes flat?
Now, on a side note here, if I lived in Port Charles, I’d be willing to chip in to help Carly pay Brook Lynn. Dante and Lulu are growing more sanctimonious – and frankly, more annoying by the minute. Would it have killed Dante to leave Michael at his family’s house for some ice cream? Judge Carroll didn’t say a word about an 8:00 pm curfew. And Lulu having something to say to Sonny in front of Michael, and then to Michael about Sonny, in front of Sonny…too much! My mom never let anyone say anything about dad in front of us, and he deserved most of what they said, too! Lulu is fundamentally out of line here. And what about Lulu going to Carly to tell her that Michael needs her help? I could feel the resentment coming off of Carly in waves! Adding that to the fact that Lulu got all the frozen pizza from the grocery store; Lulu better enjoy life as she knows it now.
Maxie could probably have used a friend to tell her to get back to the hair salon and fix that color crisis she’s having. Instead, poor Maxie is hobbling all over town with another failed attempt at artistry. Franco has reared his sexy head again, and Maxie is freaking out – and with good reason. Maxie gets a little help, and a listening ear from ex-lover, Lucky, and is able to give him a little right back. I kinda like the scenes between Lucky and Mxie – I do every time they share air time. Certainly the sexy Greg Vaughan brought something different to the table, but Maxie is a bit different than the Maxie that kept Lucky hooked on drugs. I think both Lucky and Maxie are in different places now. Federal Prosecutor Walsh finally drags herself in to the PCPD to hear what Maxie has to say, and is immediately riveted. Franco seems to have that affect on people.
Too bad Maxie is so distracted, as it took her only two minutes at the hospital to notice that Patrick was acting like a jealous boyfriend over Lisa. If Maxie had seen Patrick punch Steve Webber in the face, she may have been able to snap Patrick out of it. But sadly, Patrick dove headfirst into making an ass out f himself over Lisa. Maybe Dr. Drake didn’t get a good enough look at Dr. Webber’s physical physique. I’m guessing Webber and his abs of steel could find a way to take Drake down, in spite of the height difference. I’m Team Webber on this one! Patrick needs an ass-whooping – like yesterday!
It seems that Jason and Sam got an extra round of “healing” offscreen. I want to thank all of you who answered my question, “What is about Steve and Kelly that convince me that they are THE COUPLE…?” Between your comments and your emails, I was greatly encouraged on a day without JaSam on my screen. Thanks!
You know, I am truly stumped by people who say they are fans of a certain couple yet are begging TPTB to hook up Jason with Brenda, Claire, Brook, or any other woman on the PC canvas. All that tells me is that they know that for all their talk about JaSam not working onscreen, they are terrified of them staying together and continuing to electrify viewers! They also know no other woman could really hold Jason’s heart like Sam can. Sam is the only threat because Jason and Sam share a love like no other, and now that they have learned the hard, painful lessons about keeping secrets, there really is no way to come between them. Jason and Sam share an EPIC LOVE STORY. A love that overcomes and outshines the lacklusterness of anything less than True, Fully Accepting, and Forever Love.
I know this for sure: the robo-voting on every poll on the planet, fake twitter accounts, and the ugliness and disprespect a few people hide behind is a cheap attempt to get TPTB’s attention. We have truth on our side. There is no couple like JaSam.
I hope you’ll share your very passionate thoughts on JaSam with those who have the power of the pen…

2004: http://bit.ly/9f3TIo – Aww!
2006: http://bit.ly/dhf6Oj – Check out that look of fear on Jason’s face when he realizes Sam’s in danger!
*JaSam Is Love*
The Play-By-Play
Thanks everyone for the comments and emails wishing Karina well as she prepares for college! So very much appreciated! You guys are the best! {{{hugs}}}
The week is almost over, GHers! Can you believe it? Along with the weekend, I am really looking forward to this week’s Friday Cliffhanger. Anything that gets us closer to the end of this chapter in JaSam’s story is fine with me!
Jason continues to show Michael how to take care of himself, but Michael thinks that if Sam can get Jason out of there, he should take it! Don’t you love that Michael immediately assumes that Sam can find a way to get Jason out? Sam ROCKS! I also love that Michael knew that Sam would hate being without him! So sweet!
Not so sweet…Spinelli’s broken heart. I really do feel for him, but I do believe that Spin was on the right track when he admitted to Diane that it might not be best if he kept trying. I think he played it as though he believed it himslef, even though he may not have the courage to face it in earnest. I think Spinelli has finally seen really clearly that he and Maxie have reached a fork in the proverbial road…and each has chosen a different road. Wish I was there to give him a hug – he deserves one.
Maybe he should take up Yoga…with Carly! Oh wait, that wouldn’t work since Carly is faking that whole thing just so that she could play Jax by placing herself in Jax’s run path. Carly and Yoga are about as likely as Sonny and a 12-step program! You’ve gotta hand it to her though – Carly is always at her best when she’s being conniving, don’t ya think? If only she could be honest enough to tell Jax that she misses him and loves him…if she doesn’t do it soon, VM’s return may mean that Brenda gets to him first! I did love the fact that Carly caught Lulu being that snarky and hateful to Sonny, though. I think it served Carly as a reminder that Lulu and Karma have a date in the near future!
It grates on my nerves like you wouldn’t believe when Lulu plays that superior “my-poop-don’t-stink” attitude! Listen, I get that Sonny shot her man and all that, but where does Lulu get off? Not even Dante’s mother treats Sonny like something she stepped on at the petting zoo! Has Lulu forgotten what forgiveness feels like? Has she forgotten what it feels like to do something so awful that it tears lives apart? Does she need a play-by-play of who she was not that long ago? I think so. The only thing on Lulu’s mind these days is Dante and his stick…ball games. *wink* She better enjoy playing while she can, that’s all I’m saying!
That brings us to the Big, Dark, Cloud hanging over Lulu, waiting to rain all over her Dante Parade: Brook Lynn. I told you Brook was a Quartermaine through and through…do you guys see how she is working this situation? She went right over to Sonny, and got him to invest in the thought of her and Dante *snaps fingers* – just like that! With all of her stories of Sonny’s bouncing baby boy back in the day, she gave Sonny something he’s been yearning for all along: a glimpse of all he’d missed. No one else has been willing to give Sonny that, but Brook handed it to him until he was gushing with pride and taking credit for all of Dante’s natural gifts. After that, and then Sonny’s exchange with Lulu, whose side do you think Sonny will come down on? Well played, Brook!
Also well played was Lisa’s manipulation of Patrick. First, Lisa pretended she never heard Patrick say he would come in to the hospital, making him all the more territorial of Lisa…and her surgery schedule. Then Lisa included Steve on her dinner invitation, making Patrick’s eye twitch. She is really good at playing her game. What I will never understand is why, dear God, Patrick is even playing this game? I wish Bobbie would be at the hospital one day to sit Patrick down and remind him of what a player Dr. Noah Drake was. I think Patrick needs a reminder of all the things he didn’t want to be!
Also at the hospital we watched Nurse Nightingale herself. Liz constantly expresses her need to be independent to just about anyone who will listen: Nik, Lucky, Patrick, Shirley, Lisa…blah, blah, blah. I would probably have less of a problem believing that if she wasn’t constantly getting knocked up with children she can’t afford to raise on her own and then playing victim! Hey, Liz – a much simpler investment would be about $40 a month on birth control pills, after you have this baby. Liz’s idea of financial freedom from Nikolas? To use the money she “earned” with Jason, which Jason was kind enough to say was for her two bastard children’s future to buy into a get-rich-quick opportunity on an experimental drug. *sigh* You know, I really wish GH would be able to do a crossover with “Nurse Jackie” (A Showtime Original Series) Nurse Jackie would slap Nurse Liz into shape in no time, like she’s doing for Zoey – and hey! Jackie could even get Liz her birth control pills for free! Liz needs some tough love – and certainly Big Brother Steve isn’t going to risk hurting Peanut’s feelings! Shirley did call Liz on her icy regard for Nik, but Liz brushes that off of her imaginary shiny white saint clothing and keeps on trucking! I am praying that Liz risks and loses every single penny that Jason gave her! One less connection she would have to our favorite hitman…
We’ll wait and see how this all “plays out”, and who the winners and losers are!
😉

~ JaSam Is Love ~
THAT’S JUST WRONG!
Guys, as I watched Thursday’s episode of GH, I swore I might never get to the point where I could actually remember and blog about anything except for two things: 1) Seeing Jason in a white, tight T-shirt, and 2) Hearing Jason say the word “groin”.
However, I persevered, and here I sit…typing away and trying to post all of my thoughts about yesterday’s GH.
😉
You may not be surprised to find that my brain found a common theme in yesterday’s thought. I don’t know how it happens, but it does this to me all the time. As I was watching Thursday’s episode, I kept finding myself whisper, “That’s just wrong.”
Let’s see if you guys agree.
Lulu and her smelly lunch bag went traipsing into Crimson stinking up the place with her puke-worthy worship of all things Dante. Lulu was praising Brook Lynn, and her wonderfulness, (oh, if she only knew) and when Maxie warns her to tread carefully, the Italian Stallion comes riding in to Brook Lynn’s defense. What does Lulu do? She agrees with Dante. “I’m so surprised,” quips Maxie. And really, who is? No matter what Dante says, Lulu agrees with him, and it doesn’t matter who she has to disagree with. That’s the best way to lose all your friends, Lulu. Maxie once more tries to warn that there may be more to Brook than what they see, but Lulu shoots her down – literally. “Look at you,” Lulu says to Maxie, with a smile on her face. “You used to be a self-centered bitch, now you’re just self-centered.” Hey, Lulu: That’s just wrong! Maxie is your friend, and know what else? Maxie knows you used to be a “Selfish, boyfriend-stealing, lying tramp, who got pregnant, then got an abortion, who once bashed your ex-boyfriend’s-head-in, who then was committed to Shadybrook,” and she didn’t throw it in your face with a chuckle. Carly is right. Lulu doesn’t know what loyalty is, and so even though what Carly is doing is petty and immature, I still don’t feel for Lulu.
Liz and Nikolas shared a couple minutes of civil conversation, where Liz “tsk’d-tsk’d” at Nik for another 42 reasons, and Nikolas begged Liz to allow him a slice of that pie she keeps giving out. Nikolas explains his wealth to Liz, as if she didn’t know just how wealthy he was, and Liz explains that there’s more to parenting than money. Hmmm. Could someone tell Liz that there’s more to parenting than getting knocked up? That entire conversation made my blood boil. Liz told Nik that she doesn’t want to get sucked in to another Spencer-Cassadine feud. That’s just wrong! Liz, what did you think would happen when you accepted a proposal from Mr. Spencer right after banging Mr. Cassadine? What did you think would happen when Lucky finally found out that you’d been sleeping with his brother for months? Did you think one would pat the other on the back? Congratulate each other? Compare notes over a beer at Jake’s? PLEASE! Liz SINGLEHANDEDLY started this latest sequel to the war of the families because she couldn’t control her hormones once again! Is she kidding me? And can I tell you something else? When that cutie-pie Cameron was asking if he could go to summer camp and Liz said it was too expensive…THAT’S JUST WRONG! Not only does she have $5 million in the bank from Jason, she is co-parenting those boys with Lucky. Don’t tell me Lucky wouldn’t pay the damned two weeks for Cam to go to summer camp! In her next scene we see her little wheels turning when she hears about an investment opportunity that could guarantee instant wealth. I see where this is going, and again, I’ll tell you, THAT’S JUST WRONG!
Robin Scorpio is either really, really stupid or really, really selfish, or BOTH. How dare she make plans to leave her family and not discuss it with Patrick first? Really! Like, don’t most of us moms let our families know days in advance when we’re going for a day at the spa, or an all-day training for our jobs, or even if we’re going to the supermarket before coming home? I just don’t understand Robin! Really, I don’t. It’s as is she had PPD all over again! Not only did she plan this trip where she leaves everyone behind at the drop of a hat, she then cannot comprehend what Patrick is upset about, and calls him jealous…over Stone! THAT’S JUST WRONG! I mean, who wouldn’t be acting weird over your dead ex when you talk about him incessantly? Even after their fight, Robin comes back and tell Patrick “When Stone and I were together, we used to sit in the grass….”WHAAAT?” Robin! THAT’S JUST WRONG! I’m curious…How many of you married readers talk to your spouse about all the things you and your ex did? How many of you sit around and read journals full of your loving moments, your conversations, and special memories of someone from your past, and then want to talk about it with your spouse? My husband would not have it. Period. And I wouldn’t have it either. And…Patrick shouldn’t be expected to have it! Patrick needs to kick Robin’s ass back to the future…or to the curb. I will tell all of you die-hard Scrubs fans this much: In spite of his recent behavior, Patrick Loves Robin. I think it spoke to the depth of love he has for her when Robin asked him about his suitcase and he told her he was going to Africa with her. It spoke even louder when she told him that there was only room for one on the team, and he still encouraged her to go and blaze a trail and all that crap. Sadly, I also think it spoke to Robin’s unwillingness to see what’s right in front of her. I have to say it also spoke to her self-centerdness. (Shoot me, but I do.) Robin needs a priority check…I just hope it’s not forced on her by outside forces. (Lisa)
John Zacharra has been one of my favorite characters since he came to Port Charles, NY. He was a hottie, honest (for the most part) and he loved his sister. I always felt that in spite of his deep and far-reaching issues, he was a Good Fella where it counted. I had to reassess those feelings yesterday. John knows what Kristina has been through. He knows how much she has been hurt, and how fragile she is. Yet he still told her that he often saw bruises on Claudia’s arms, even though he knew that there were plenty of men “manhandling” Claudia. THAT’S JUST WRONG! John put his need to hurt Sonny above the needs of a young, hurting little girl. Sonny is verbally abusive to women, and there’s no need to cover up that truth, but I didn’t think he needed to let Kristina believe anymore than the truth.
Sometimes even those we like, and even love, the most do things that are just wrong. It’s up to us to decide how we’ll react to those decisions. I think the best kind of love is the love that’s honest enough to tell people when they’re wrong, and try to help them find their way back.
As far as the beloved fictional characters we like and love most on GH, all we can do is keep watching, while hoping the writers can “fix” their character flaws. The most important thing to remember is that they’re just that…fictional characters. I wish all viewers could remember that.
😉
Off to watch today’s GH…and hoping to get back to “What’s Right” soon!
Much love…Angelique

PARTNERSHIPS AND POWER PLAYS
TGIF, GHers!
You know, it seems that to make it in Port Charles you must have the right connections. If you don’t, it’s kinda hard to stay afloat. I find it so interesting to watch as PC’s residents work to find themselves the right partnerships, while others plot power plays to keep themselves not just floating – but coasting down the harbor of Port Charles Life.
Dr. Lisa Niles is a freakin’ mastermind when it comes to power plays. You see, while everyone, including her mark, Dr. Patrick Drake, thinks she is innocently making connections with her boss, Dr. Steve Webber, she is really just baiting. Patrick has been nibbling on it for weeks, and Lisa is just making sure that he sinks his teeth into it with conviction before she reels him in. Patrick is nearly obsessed with Lisa’s relationship – working and personal, with Steve. He can barely focus on his work – or his wife – when Lisa and Steve are flirting and laughing and heck – just working. Lisa is so proud of herself because she can see it clearly. Steve can see it clearly, too, but hasn’t seen that he’s the bait, or that Lisa is doing the fishing. The only one who can’t see it, of course, is Robin!
As impressive as Dr. Niles’ game is, Brook Lynn is most imporessive to me at this point. She has an ear out on just about everything going down, and an eye on Johnny, while her other eye is paid to follow Dante. That’s multi-tasking, folks. Her partnership with Carly has locked her into a verbal contract to make a power play for Dante. Once Dante makes that move, his life with Lulu will self-implode, and Carly will be left standing…and smiling. Or at least that’s Carly’s plan. Sometimes when we set out to hurt others, the end results are not what we expected…or planned.
Lulu would know all about that. I mean, who can forget the elaborate plan she cooked up to break up sweet, innocent Georgie and her boyfriend, Dillon? In the end, she broke them up and tore them apart, but really it was Lulu who fell apart. I am actually counting down the seconds before Lulu realizes what Brook Lynn is really up to. After all, you know what they say, “You can’t play a player!” Although…Carly seems to be playing Lulu pretty damned well!
Carly’s husband, Jax has always been defined by Powerful Partnerships and Power Plays. It’s how he’s made his millions. Jax and Skye had a nice conversation (reminding me that I really liked them together), but as I listened to Jax talk about what those powerful connections mean, I was sadly reminded that the one partnership that meant everything to Jax is the one that suffered most. His marriage to Carly is just about over, and there’s not one a power play in sight that could help. Marriage doesn’t depend on power plays, only on a working partnership between the two people who vowed to make it work…hopefullyJax has learned that lesson once and for all.
Carly’s current ex-husband, Sonny, is busy trying really hard to form a partnership with Claire that will put him in a position to make a power play to rid himself of his nemesis, John Zacchara. Sonny delivered quite the lecture on how fatherhood has made him the man that he is. Problem is, Claire can’t stand the man that Sonny is. Claire seemd to be on top of the entire situation, allowing Sonny to trip over his own ego and fall right into his own trap. The only moment where I saw Claire flustered was when Sonny asked her if she thought about having children. Thank goodness Claire got out of there when she did. Just talking about having children could be enough to get her pregnant around Sonny! Claire ran right to Lucky and told her all about Sonny’s foolish plan…and Lucky wisely warned her about being too cocky, and read off the names of the female officers of the court who’d gone before her… Hannah Scott (played by JJ’s real-life wife, Lisa), Reese Marshall, Alexis Davis. Lucky also gave her the best advice I heard all day…Proceed with caution….and be careful the hunter doesn’t get captured by the game. (Or the dimples, I suppose)
The most important and meaningful partnership Michael has ever had in his whole life has been with his Uncle Jason. No one has ever cared more about him, or been less selfish about Michael’s needs than Jason. Even in prison, Michael can count on Jason to find a way to help and protect him. I still get a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach when Michael acts like a wounded animal, but I trust that Jason will help him through whatever it is…right after Jason uses one of his many partnership to arrange the disappearance of whoever hurt Michael.
Finally, dear ones, I did call the only numbers I have in connection with Port Charles (The Comment Lines) to let them know I needed the number to the PCPD. I haven’t seen Sam McCall in days, and wanted to file a MISSING PERSONS REPORT! I’m terribly worried about her! *tears* Perhaps if we all called to file a missing persons report, it would help keep her close.
Hopefully Sam will be found soon!
😉

“Finding My Way Back To You”…
Happy Hump Day, GHers and Beloved Friends!
I didn’t have a compass, but I have finally found my way back to you!
The contractor is gone! Woo-hoo! My bathroom is done and beautiful, and the nightmare is over. Now all that’s left is the final cleanup! *sigh* Thanks to all of you for your support…you guys are amazing!
I only wish he had been done yesterday, as I wanted so desperately to talk to you guys about those amazing JaSam scenes on Monday”s GH! Wow…was that old-school JaSam or what? I was so thankful when I saw Michele Val Jean was the episode’s writer. I knew she would do it justice!
MVJ, along with Kelly and Steve, seemed to reach way back into the JaSam Magic Vault, circa 2005, for those scenes. Uhhhhhhhhhh-mazing! Honestly, it was really some of their best work together yet! And, though I LOOOOVED the kissing scenes (does any other couple make it look more real?), I am not just talking about those scenes.
If you have some extra time, go back and rewatch the scenes. (What a hardship, right?) From the moment they headed towards the bike, Steve and Kelly were just incredible. Their laughter and smiles seemed so genuine; so real you kinda forget it’s a soap. Those are the moments that made me fall in love with JaSam back in 2004 long before they were even being written romantically.
As I watched the rest of their scenes play out, I was applauding MVJ and GH for really using the history this couple has and using it to pull at our heartstrings. Both of them reminiscing about their “shack” in Hawaii was sweet AND smart. It took us all back to the exact time period they (The Writers) wanted us to recall. And why wouldn’t they? Jason and Sam were untouchable then and the Number 1 Couple on any list…hands down. And Monday’s scenes were the kind of stuff that got them – and KEPT them there! Kudos, MVJ! You rock!
Her writing prowess continued as she led us down a visual Memory Lane onscreen. Them sitting on the floor, in each other’s arms? Classic! Them talking things out, and Sam reminding Jason why they are the perfect fit? Classic! Jason gifting Sam with a necklace? You guessed it – Classic! Everything about that scene was new and different, yet tried-and true and familiar. I was truly impressed!
Let’s talk about the necklace for a moment…
Some were disappointed that it wasn’t the star necklace. I have to say that I thought I would be, but wasn’t. I’ll tell you why. That necklace was a reminder of so many great moments…their shooting star, starry nights, their Love Boat trip, Hawaii, second chances, and even a magical Christmas. I’d bet my tush that Jason still has the shooting star necklace in his box of pain, because there’s no way that he’d get rid of it. However, it also represented a couple of endings to their relationship…first at the hospital after Sam told Jason she thought she hated him when he refused to give them another chance after her (and his) shooting, and then again when Sam moved out in 2007. I will never forget what Sam said when Jason tried to give her the necklace after she’d left it on his desk. “You keep it. I don’t need anything that could remind me of what might’ve been.”
Guys, I still think that as pretty and as sweet as that star necklace was…it would still be that for Sam. It would also bring with it memories of how they ended, and I don’t think Jason would want reminders of that hanging around Sam’s neck and near her heart while he’s away in prison. He’s too practical for that. Besides, while their love story is long and full of history, it’s also a new beginning, and I think Jason wanted to make new memories…and new promises.
I’m all for that.
I would be remiss if I didn’t commend Kelly Monaco on what she does best: dragging me right into the emotion she’s playing out onscreen. What is it about Kelly that makes me cry every time she cries? The tears started rolling for me when Kelly first wiped Sam’s tears away as she sat with Jason on the floor. They never stopped. When she was overcome with emotion while trying to take her shirt off, I was crying in earnest. But when Jason came to hold her and she fell apart…so did I. OUTSTANDING scenes as always, and I am BEYOND thrilled that they are FINALLY giving her some material worthy of her abilities! The Comment Lines heard BIG TIME praise for Kelly from me! I hope they heard it from you too!
😉
Was I disappointed that we didn’t get some Tuesday JaSam lovin? Certainly. But I’m looking forward to at least one more day of BLISS before the finaly goodbye…hopefully, I’m not disappointed!
I know lots of other stuff happened on Tuesday’s show:
- Lucky and Dante are working to find dirt on Judge Carroll, and even Claire seems “down with that” (Was it only my TV, or did Dante look like he had a weird tan?)
- Sonny and Michael had a nice visit and Sonny made all kinds of promises…I hope Sonny can keep these promises a little better than the promise he made to take his boys to a World Series game if the Yanks made it!
- Maxie has hatched another harebrained scheme to help Spin out of his “depression.” With all those doctors, why not just ask for a prescription for Pristiq? Just sayin’…
- Robin has found yet another way to push (who knew he was so freakin’ needy?) Patrick towards Lisa, who only seems to talk about sex and breasts.
- Steve Webber reminded me that I ADORED him as Ryan McNeil on Young & Restless when he went shirtless in front of Lisa in the Locker Room. He is a hottie!
- Patrick got an eyeful of why perhaps he should be joining Scott (Steve) and Steve (Jason) at the gym!
🙂
I promise to cover everything else Port Charles in a post not too far off…but after waiting oh-so-patiently for some quality JaSam Romance, they had to take center stage!
😉
It’s great to be back, friends! Hasta Luego!
INEVITABILITIES
Friends, there are things in life that just happen out of the blue and take us by surprise. Then, GHers, there are things that are just bound to happen; events that seem unavoidable …INEVITABILITIES.
Recently, my hubby witnessed something extremely traumatic. On his way to work, he was behind a woman at a red light, and at that hour, there was hardly anyone on the road within the city. Suddenly, he says the woman took off, though the red light had not changed. My husband said he immediately looked up to check the light, as at that very moment there was a huge mass transit bus crossing the intersection from the other side. The light was indeed still red. The woman must have been preoccupied, because she didn’t even notice the bus coming straight at her.
My husband only had time to yell “NOOOOOOOOOOO!” the way we’ve seen it done on GH dozens of times. But nothing could have stopped the bus from slamming into the woman’s car on her side. It was an INEVITABILITY. No matter how he tried, or wished it, he could not stop the wreck from taking place right before his very eyes. Though he was safe and unharmed, he was not without trauma. It was all he talked about for days. I am happy to report that in spite of the fact that the woman was critically injured, and suffered severe head trauma and other injuries, she survived and was expected to recover. Thankfully, the driver of the empty bus was not hurt. It was truly a miracle.
Sometimes, we have the same experience as my husband on different scales. We watch our friends or loved ones headed towards a wreck on the intersection of life, and no matter what we do or say, we cannot stop it. It’s an INEVITABILITY that they will be hurt.
Port Charles was a breeding ground of INEVITABILTIES during Thursday’s episode. Friends and loved ones witnessed bad decisions, unwise choices, and poor judgment on the part of people they care about. Still, no matter how they tried to intervene, it became clear that some things are just inevitable.
Last we saw Lucky on Wednesday, he was in the middle of a shoot-out with Bill Clinton, or at least Bill Clinton’s face. A shot rang out, and we were left hanging as to whether Lucky was injured just as Liz winced because her uterus was being swabbed, and his brother-turned-enemy, Nikolas, was signing over another few million to the most expensive incubator in town. (Don’t you just love soap timing? Next time I lay down on a hospital gurney, I’m going to do it slowly, and wonder what huge thing is happening around the world at that very moment) Thankfully, our tortured upholder of the law lived to make it to the precinct in time to give Dante a 50¢ tour of his new work digs. After that, Lucky was off to the breaker of the law’s penthouse to warn Jason that he responded to an attempted break-in at one of the Corinthos buildings. Jason is quick to dismiss Lucky, but Lucky lets him know that Johnny is his to take care of, not Jason’s. Jason tells Lucky that John is just out of control, but Lucky wants to make sure that Jason committing another murder isn’t another INEVITABILITY. Jason probably had his fill of visits from the “Seekers of Justice”, as just minutes earlier, Federal Prosecutor Claire Walsh had stopped by for a cup of really good coffee, and to issue Jason a warning that he will be called as a witness in the trial against his partner. As annoying as it all is, Jason understands that being harassed by the cops is an INEVITABILITY in his line of work.
Across town at Jake’s, we see our previously masked thug with a death wish limping into the bar. Maxie, who moments before was concerned only with setting the mood for some “honkey-tonk” loving and boot-knocking with her non-husband Spinelli, but can spot a hurtin’ hottie a mile away, immediately checks up on Johnny. Luckily, Spinelli arrives before Maxie can use any of her “candy striper skills” on Johnny in one of the upstairs rooms. Spinelli, who has truly grown into a PI, immediately puts together the clues and figures out that Johnny was the culprit of the attempted break-in. Spinelli is sad for his friend, because he knows Johnny’s reckless actions will lead to the INEVITABILITY of Johnny’s demise. As the conversation with his beloved continues, Spinelli also picks up on the clues that Maxie is once again attracted to the dark and the dangerous, which Spinelli fears will bring a much more tragic INEVITABILITY to their relationship.
Coleman sees the signs of the inevitable and warns Johnny not to bring his war with the mob into his establishment. In a moment of heartwarming concern, Coleman also asks John to pay off his tab…just in case John can’t outrun the INEVITABILITY that he will be taken down. (LOL) One last INEVITABILITY that John must face is that when you leave a trail of crumbs, someone will catch up to you…and he may just be wearing a Bill Clinton mask too!
Down at the PCPD, another person lining up to take down the Port Charles Mob Godfather is his newfound son, Dante. Dante and Lucky compare notes on being cops while having fathers who refuse to be policed. Dante wins on having the worst of it, especially since going up against his father over and over again is an INEVITABILITY.
Liz has got one hell of a support group at that hospital! I mean, really, I had to have major back surgery to get a “ginormous card” signed by all the staff at my school. All Liz has to do is get pregnant for the third time with a bastard child, and she gets the reception I got after coming back from maternity leave! Kelly reminds her that everyone there “loves her”, and even Epiphany is chuckling at cute-as-a-button Liz. It seems to be an INEVITABILITY that the resident Saint Elizabeth will, as Lulu so rightly put it, come out of this scandal looking like THE MADONNA, not Madonna. It’s enough to make me gag! It seems she will also have added FINANCIAL SUPPORT, because Nikolas added to Jason’s $5 million contribution and he’s also getting a couple of back-up sets of paternityresults for Liz’s baby. Thanks goodness, as Helena has paid off some desperate lab technician who’s about to pay off his school loans at a baby’s expense. Do you all see the possibility that Helena could have done the very same thing Liz was pregnant just to hurt Lucky by making him believe Jason was the father, but he’s really not? It’s so easy…how could she have resisted such an opportunity?
Again, what the hell is up with Robin? When Liz came out of her procedure to find out which of her two lovers is the father of her most recent bastard, Robin stood there smiling at her as if Liz had just donated a kidney to a needy patient! Is she kidding me? And what about her conversation with Nik? Robin answers Nik’s questions about how Liz is doing with: “She doesn’t give herself enough credit?” WHAAAAT? Well, let’s give her credit where credit is due! She’s a judgmental, lying, two-faced slut! Is that enough credit? And what about comparing Liz to the woman who lifted the car off the baby who was trapped? “Elizabeth gets her strength from her children,” Robin said. Ummm…No she does not, Robin! She was getting her strength from banging Nik and his magic….well, never mind. But please, don’t insult Nik’s (or our) intelligence, Robin! Liz was living like a phening drug addict, looking for Nik at all hours, needing a “hit” to make it through. Let’s hope Robin is this understanding about adultery when the INEVITABILITY of Lisa making a play for Patrick happens.
Speaking of marriages in crisis, Jax and Carly are both miserable apart, and tripping over themselves to keep reminding each other of how much one needs the other. Jax tortured Carly with thoughts of slipping around on satin sheets, and fed her yummy Belgian chocolate hoping to inspire a need for more…more chocolate and more Jax. I have to tell you that I am rooting for Jax and Carly to work this one out. Why? Because when Jax and Carly are happy, Jason is happy, or at least less busy. I need for Carly to use up less of Jason’s orbit, so that Sam and romance can take up more of it. Besides, Jax and Carly really do love each other. They had some nice moments looking over the proofs from Baby Josslyn’s christening, but a huge difference of opinion over Sonny was an INEVITABILITY, and therefore, so was moving to opposite corners of the ring. So close, and yet so far…
Well, GHers, Carly’s anger caused her to drop the box of proofs, which caused her to find a picture of a smiling, smug Franco. Of course, she hightails it to Jason’s where she shows him the picture and says, “It’s Franco”, just in case Jason forgot what he looked like. She then warns, “He’s still after you.”
So we’ve known for some time that Franco’s return was an ominous INEVITABILITY, I just wonder how it will play out for our favorite characters.
We’ll just have to stay tuned!
TGIF, readers! Have a great weekend!
😉
THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL…
Forgive me, Ghers, for not posting sooner, but spent the whole day yesterday at appointments since my husband took the day off, and then had to watch the Yankees fight to stay alive with the family. It’s too bad our GH writers didn’t have Sonny promise all of his boys to take them to the World Series if the Yankees made it THIS YEAR, as it seems this would’ve been the year he wouldn’t have been held accountable. They are behind the Rangers 3-2 in the series, but oh well…so goes life on soaps. This year, we also don’t have the adorable Aaron Revfem to go on and on so believably about Jeter and A-Rod, and the rest of the Yankees. That makes me feel a little forlorn. I miss him.
Tuesday and Wednesday’s episodes of GH have got me FEELING all kinds of things…it must be the combination of pain medication mixed with very little sleep.
This Dante and Brenda thing makes me FEEL…anxious (for it to be over)! I know that suspense is a big part of soaps, but my goodness…the flashbacks that both Dante and Brenda have been having about their “past connection” are just not giving us enough to go on! (LOL) Now add to that these new flashbacks of gunfire and Brenda screaming, and I just want this to draw to a conclusion…and sooner, rather than later.
Brenda herself makes me FEEL…impatient. I wish she would stop calling people to tell them to help keep Sonny away from her, when: a) she’s the one who keeps initiating contact, and b) goes melting into his arms every time I turn around. Brenda, please! Make up your mind…do you want Sonny or…his son? And who does Dante want? Between Brenda smiling at every flashback of Dante, and Dante staring at that magazine spread of her as if it were Playboy, I’m thinking, “Get a room – preferably one outside of The Penthouse, and work it out already!”
Brook Lynn and Nikolas make me FEEL…excited about the possibilities! Who knew that this pairing could really work, and make both characters so likable to me again? Not that I didn’t like either Nik or Brook before, but now I really enjoy having them on my screen, and I think it’s because they are really having a good time, both in character and out. I love the way Nik has lightened up, and seems all full of testosterone again. And I love that Brook is getting a chance to show that she’s not an evil, plotting slut who was out to destroy lives. Brook was just down on her luck, and desperate, and Carly capitalized on that. Brook is really, really, good for Nikolas and that whole Dark Castle! But do you know who Brook is BEST for?
If you guessed Liz, you are correct! Brook has Liz’s number pegged to the wall! I absolutely LOVED Brook’s dialogue with Liz! My goodness, I could’ve written it, as it’s all the stuff I’ve been saying for weeks! Brook’s scenes where she tells Liz exactly how it looks to most of us, make me FEEL…pumped! Liz never, EVER shows her true colors in front of the man she’s trying to convince of her Sainthood, but the minute their backs are turned, her inner skank takes over and she comes out swinging! It reminded me of how she used to play that crap with Jason and Sam, and I was so happy that Brook Lynn called her ass out! “Daammmnnn Girl,” Brook Lynn said. Oh yeah…her jig is up there. Liz may still have Nik fooled, but not Brook. And I think it’s about time!
You know, speaking of Liz, all of her scenes yesterday make me FEEL…vindicated. Liz proved so much about her character when she took the money that Jason set up in trust to provide for his son’s future…all 5 MILLION BUCKAROOS, and invested it in a risky, uncertain crap shoot investment out of what can only be called GREED. Saint Liz my foot! And can someone tell me what the hell Steve was talking about when he said Liz has visions of college funds and family vacations? She could have provided college tuition to ALL of the girls at Oprah’s school with $5 million! And vacations? She could have taken a family Disney vacation with her three illegitimate children, and all the illegitimate children she has yet to conceive, every year for the rest of her life using only the interest that Jason’s 5 million would have generated! Call it like it is, Steve! Your sister, the one who accused Brook Lynn of being a gold digger, is the worst possible kind of gold digger! Brook Lynn has yet to give it up for money! Ugh! When will everyone else see what we see so clearly?
Carly and Jax make me FEEL…confused lately. Do they really want to work this out? Why is Carly sticking her nose in Sonny’s love life? She heard Claire say that she wasn’t going to go after Michael again, and Carly threatened to burn her life to the ground, certainly it was clear to Carly that Claire didn’t take it lightly. Could Carly stop scheming and planning long enough to work on her marriage? And what about Jax? Helping Brenda is one freakin’ thing, but building her a whole new apartment at the hotel? Really, Jax? He kinda deserves the hell that Carly is about to unleash on his behind. (I bet Jax was thinking that Olivia deserves to get fired for opening her big, fat mouth)
You know who doesn’t deserve the hell that Carly is about to unleash on Jax? Sam. Just the thought of Carly using Jason to prove something to Jax, without giving Sam a second though makes me FEEL…like burning Carly’s life to the ground my damned self. There are days that I really like Carly, and there are days that I root for her, and even see myself in her fierce Mama Bear role, but when she is so self-centered and self-absorbed that she hurts my Sam, well then Carly is as good as Dead To Me.
I wish that I could lay the blame at Carly’s feet, and Carly’s feet alone, but sadly I cannot. Jason is the one I would have to blame first and foremost. Jason has always allowed Carly to come barreling through his life like a bull in a china shop. And this time around, his relationship with Sam is just as fragile, even if he doesn’t see it. Jason’s cluelessness and ability to live in oblivion when it comes to what this does, and has always done, to Sam makes me FEEL…like calling up Papa Giambetti to come slap him upside the head like only he can! I don’t know what Jason thinks Sam is made of, but certainly she is not as unbreakable or as resilient as he, or even Sam, seem to want to believe. No matter what Jason whispers to Sam when she is within his reach, or what he does when they are out of sight, it means nothing if he has not placed Sam in a position of priority in his life. All the beautiful promises in the world, and we know Jason has made so many, cannot outshine the glaring truth staring at Sam day in and day out; and that is that as much as Jason says he doesn’t want to lose Sam, she is already lost under all of Jason’s priorities and responsibilities.
PLEASE. Don’t misunderstand my frustration for fear. I am not afraid or intimidated about the kiss. And I completely expect that Jason will tell Carly it ain’t happenin’, and he may even get upset. However, I also expect that he still won’t set boundaries. And you know what? Until that happens, he may as well say nothing at all, because Carly has never thought twice about dragging Jason out of his own life into hers. And Jason has never thought twice about allowing himself to be dragged. That’s all on him. We have all seen Carly put her marriages before Jason before. Why can’t he do the same for the ONE WOMAN who has never let him down, always had his back, and forever puts him first?
I would think Sam is just a little tired of sharing what should be hers – and that is the #1 spot in Jason’s heart. If she’s not yet, I imagine she will be soon.
I mean, how do all of these other priorities make Sam feel?
And if he were to lose Sam again…how would Jason feel?
I Have A FEELING that we’re about to get some answers to those questions…
Hold on tight…it may leave you FEELING all too much!

THIS DAY IN JASAM HISTORY
October 20
2005: http://bit.ly/aHB32C Manny Ruiz is the creepiest villain ever! Hands down!
2009: http://bit.ly/SpoBB I have a confession to make: when these scenes happened lAST YEAR, I really believed they were working their way towards a JaSam baby storyline! That moment when Jason is overwhelmed by his concern for Sam’s pain (about 1:25-1:38) makes me tear up even now! In fact, he was right there for her the entire time. I loved these scenes!
October 21
2004: http://bit.ly/9uYBRh More incredible scenes…when Jason kissed her belly, I nearly screamed! And Kelly Monaco looks ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! 😉
2005: Part 1: http://bit.ly/9v09U4 Part 2: http://bit.ly/bI1wQw The famous, “I would do anything for you, I’d die for you,” scenes were in here!
2009: http://bit.ly/124CNn So sweet!
I WANT TPTB TO KEEP BUILDING JASAM’S HISTORY, DON’T YOU? TELL THEM JUST THAT!
