Focusing On The Things That Keep Us Watching

“Don’t Even Have To Think About It”…

Morning, GHers!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and words of encouragement. I am feeling much better. 😉

Can you believe there are only 9 shopping days left? Ay, ay, ay! Where did this year go?

I wonder if anyone in Port Charles remembers that we’re in the middle of the holiday season…over in Genoa City, Salem, LA and Llanview, everyone is shopping for their Christmas trees, and homes are decorated already. Maybe we should give them a call to remind those in charge of Port Charles. *shrugs*

Have you ever been faced with a situation or scenario where the minute there is a question, you know the answer? You know, where you “Don’t Even Have To Think About It?”

Sometimes we are able to get to that point because we know ourselves really well. And sometimes, it’s because we know others really well.

May I ask a question? Good. Umm… Where the HELL does Matt Hunter get off? Does he really think for ONE MINUTE that he can try and school Lucky on Liz? Ha! What a joke! Matt needs to realize that he is only seeing and experiencing one side of this situation and relationship dynamic between Liz and Lucky – and it’s only the side she has wanted Matt to see, because we have already established that this is what Liz does. Manipulates. So of course, Matt thinks he is the expert – on what a dirt bag Lucky is. Truth is, he doesn’t know a damned thing about Lucky. Case in point? He thinks he told Lucky all about himself, told him how it really is, and how absolutely blessed Lucky should feel to have Liz in his life, and topped it off with telling Lucky to go to hell. Wow. Yet, the minute he got to Shady Brook, and saw Liz in the painter’s room, he immediately questioned why she was there, and sounded…accusatory. Huh. Matt  “Doesn’t Even Have To Think About It.” The second he saw Liz in that room, with they guy, he realized exactly what she was doing, even if he didn’t want to see it. Funny thing was the he didn’t really even have to think about her reason for checking herself in, either. In fact, he told her exactly what she was doing there: pushing Lucky’s buttons. It seems that Matt isn’t really an expert on Lucky at all, but he does seem to know Liz a lot better than he thought.

I had to give Lucky some credit for putting up with Matt as long as he did. He seemed almost amused by how “informed” Matt seemed to be on Lucky’s feelings, or apparent lack thereof, for Liz. I kinda saw a role reversal take place between Matt and Lucky. Matt was playing detective, and was trying to piece together the evidence against Lucky, and had really already proven him guilty in his mind. Whereas, in the end, Lucky took on the role of doctor and recognized Matt’s symptoms immediately, and diagnosed the problem immediately. Lucky “Doesn’t Even Have To Think About It.” Matt’s surliness has a quick diagnosis and warning: “Be careful,” Dr. Lucky warns, “rescuing Liz can be a full-time job.”

I would think Shawn might know a little bit about that ailment, except that guarding Carly is more like a life sentence. I am just wondering if it’s only me here, but did I miss the part where Jason hired Shawn as The Pacifier? I thought he was hired as the freakin’ body guard and security specialist. While he was up there, reading to Joss for an hour…Carly could have been murdered and buried! I just don’t understand it. And why is Carly allowing all of this bonding time for Joss with this man in the first place? Joss is probably still wondering where the hell her dad is. Carly should be spending time bonding with Joss, and making her feel safe, and talking to her about her dad. Instead, Carly decides she needs Jason right now. Ugh. Shawn actually begged Carly to stay put, but let’s be honest. He “Doesn’t Even Have To Think About It.” He knew there was not stopping Carly, just like he knew he was going to stay home with the baby, while Carly went out to do her own thing. Too bad her own thing almost pushed Jason over the edge…

Sam is still maximizing her coping mechanism by taking on Michael’s search for Abby as it is the only problem on her radar. I know just how that feels. I know that Jason means well, but sometimes just being home and safe is just too quiet, and that quiet can hurt your ears after a while, especially when all it does is allow you to hear over and over all about what Franco did. Sam had to escape the safety and silence, or she would probably lose her mind. That’s why when Michael needed to go find Abby, Sam “Doesn’t Even Have To Think About It.” She leaps into action and gets their airline reservations, gets them on a plane, and gives Michael an action plan. The one thing I don’t think Sam has allowed for is the possibility that they will get to CHicago, and Michael is facing the loss of his life. Then what? I am not sure that Sam is equipped to deal with Michael in free fall, because she is barely able to deal with her own. Let’s just hope that Alexis can get Jason out, and that Jason can get to his wife before she even needs him.

When it comes to the scenes between Jason and Robin, let me make something crystal clear: I Don’t Even Have To Think About It. They didn’t bother me at all. I appreciated the fact that as a life long fan of GH, the writers (Michele Val Jean wrote today’s epi) are actually honoring a past relationship that is now a real friendship, complete with mutual respect, and no need to play it as something else. Both Jason and Robin were very clear about the fact that they didn’t work out, and have moved on to find the true loves of their lives in Sam and Patrick. I thought it was nice that as Robin told Jason how she wanted to spare Patrick the trauma of watching her slip away, Jason was advising her based on his own emotional reactions to the possibility of being in Patrick’s shoes. Robin’s mind was on Patrick, and Jason’s heart was with Sam, which is why we got tonight’s inspiration from Jason’s emotional declaration to Robin when she asked, “What if it were Sam? If something was happening to her? If a disease was ravaging her body, if she was getting weaker all the time, are you honestly gonna sit there and tell me that you would wanna watch that?” Jason didn’t even flinch! “I don’t even have to think about it.” *tears* “I’d wanna be with her through whatever happens.” That was just such a beautiful statement. Something has happened to Sam, and something is ravaging her body, and he is worried that without having each other to lean on, she is getting weaker and weaker. Yet, Jason has already decided that he wants to be with her through whatever happens, just like Sam was with him when he was dying from that brain tumor. *wipes more tears*

When it comes to Jason and Sam, and our support for them, WE DON’T EVEN HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT, do we?

We should be sending in those letters filled with all the moments that inspire us and keep us tuning in day after day, and year after year. Let them know that we are excited about someone coming in to maximize the EPIC Love Story of Jason and Sam! Share your favorite moments over the past year…your favorite memory front heir wedding, or their vows, or their honeymoon (before Franco).

Please don’t just think about it…do it, and do it now!

Angelique

Great post, as always. Is it wrong for me to hope Jase “loses it” again and smacks the snot out of that trick (u must be my kindred spirit b/c that is my most fave word to articulate disgruntledness), Carly? No, good. LOVE LOVE LOVE Lil Lucky getting hip to Liz’s jive, AND CALLING HER ON IT. Miss scenes of the Morgans TOGETHER, but will take a good Liz smackdown in its stead;-) .

I dont know what I would do without your wonderful posts. They keep me from just going off when I see how tortured and unhappy Jason and Sam are right now. I just wish we could get one single happy moment for them. I was hoping that when Sam finally became pregnant that we would get a scene like the dream sequence when she told Jason. I just dont see that in the cards right now. We will be lucky if Sam is even happy about it under the circumstances. I am begging for tptb to turn this into a happy jasam moment since we havent had one since franco destroyed their honeymoon.

    Hi Jasammers!
I still have enjoyed Jason and Robins friendship! The only thing missing if Jason would have said to Robin “I would have missed meeting the Love of my Life, Samantha McCall Morgan my wife”!
Jason “blanking out” weird and overdone to many Brain Injuries!
    Great Blog Angelique!

What a wonderful blog. Enjoyed it so much. Jason should have told Robin that “Sam’s face is the last face he wanted to see” when he was choosing to die in Hawaii.
BTW..Angelique..I don’t tweet, and I know you do..here is new writer’s twitter name: carlivatiron
He’ll most likely be bombarded! With your gift of words..thought you would find this a good connection to pass the Jasam love along.

    • Hi, Darlene!
Thanks for the info. I shall pass it along!
I was thinking the same thing during the Robin scene…he wasn’t riding that bike anywhere, as long as Sam was on the back of it.
I guess Robin doesn’t know know him as well as we do! 😉
It’s always great to hear from you, especially since you’re always so kind! 😉
