“TIMING IS EVERYTHING”
Good morning, GHers!
For being a crazed lunatic, Anthony is right on 9 times out of 10, wouldn’t you agree?
He sure was right when he said, “Timing Is Everything!”
Timing was surely everything for Anthony when he happened into Siobhan’s room to KILL HER at the very time that everyone in the hospital happened to be on a break…or like Nurse Webber…just standing around the nurse’s station being up in everyone else’s Kool-Aid. *rolls eyes* But we’ll get back to her later. Back to Anthony and poor Siobhan. I really wished today that Siobhan had gotten on that plane when she threatened Lucky she would. Irish really did get the shaft from Lucky, and from Port Charles as a whole. If you are a committed soap viewer like I am, then you’ll understand why as Siobhan lay there facing death, in the form of Anthony, my mind immediately went to Meghan. You remember her, don’t you? The sister Siobhan was willing to risk her life for against The Balkan? The sister she seemed to love so much? How sad that the last time Meghan saw Siobhan was…just that: the last time. Siobhan took off to follow her heart and Lucky to the other side of the world, and because of that, she will never see her sister, or the rest of her family again. Poor Siobhan. And what a way to go, huh? For Siobhan, I imagine one of the hardest parts of knowing she was going to die, was being tortured – not just with Anthony babbling on and on about Liz and Lucky’s true love, or about how Lucky would give into his addiction sooner rather than later. No, I imagine that for Siobhan, hearing Anthony reveal his dastardly plan to her, and not being able to warn Lucky, the man she loves – her husband, was the most tortuous. Yup, poor Siobhan. She was smothered to death, kinda like her marriage was. If I were Siobhan’s family, there would be a lawsuit of epic proportions filed against GH. Her machines were shut off, and there were no alarms. No one even checked in on her, even though she had just regained consciousness, and had been in an accident … at the hands of the nurse who’d nearly cost her her life just a few weeks before. Timing was everything for the girl who came to the US in search of a life with Lucky and died alone and afraid IN A HOSPITAL.
Lucky’s timing sucks. I am starting to think it always has. When Lucky come into the room and started to pour his heart out to a dead Siobhan, I wanted to scream. Lucky, you couldn’t get to Siobhan to tell her all of those things (and save her freakin’ life) just an hour sooner? I mean, what kind of husband isn’t at his wife’s bedside after a fall down the stairs, a car accident, brain surgery, and unconsciousness? Come on! And once again….Liz was just standing there. W. T. F.? Has Liz come down with some kind of mental disorder that has made her a chronic lurker since the loss of her son? Oh, what the hell am I talking about? Liz has always been a chronic lurker, especially when it comes to the men she wants in her life – who always, always happen to be involved, or in love, or both with other women. Seeing Lucky flip out at the realization that he was too late, and that Siobhan was gone, was hard to watch, but I guess that was the only thing that could get his attention and keep him at Siobhan’s side for more than five minutes. And all of that sadness was kinda worth it just to have Lucky shout the same question at Liz that I had been shouting at her throughout the whole episode (as she stood there lurking during Sonny’s conversations with both Robin and Liz, and even when she teased us with coming into Siobhan’s room as Anthony waited behind the door.): “WHY ARE YOU STILL STANDING THERE?” Lucky shouted at Liz to “Go get a doctor!”, and even thought Liz still didn’t move an inch, as if nursing were a foreign concept to her, we all know it wouldn’t make a difference anyway. It was too late. Timing was everything in Lucky’s attempt to make things right with his wife, it’s just too bad timing was a killer.
Timing was everything for Sonny as well, but unlike Anthony, time was not on Sonny’s side. But, let’s be real. Time hasn’t been on Sonny’s side in ages. First, Robin made it very clear to Sonny that things won’t just go back to normal between them. Robin then challenged Sonny’s family connection to Jason, and reminded Sonny of how sorry she is that she has always defended him…especially to Brenda. Enter Carly and her perfect timing for making everything worser. Carly and Robin never agree on anything. It doesn’t matter what it is. They disagree with each other solely on principle. Not this time. This time they were on the same page and fighting for the same cause: to let Sonny know exactly how little they think of him now. Listen, it’s not that I disagree on the fact that Sonny needs to be called out on all of his crap, but one thing bothers me here. Carly was right – she helped create that monster that is Sonny. And Robin has always known who Sonny is, and what he does, and she has always been okay with it…as long as he didn’t do it in her living room. More than that, Robin has known the longer that Sonny stopped taking his meds and needs someone to stop him. As a doctor, Robin should see Sonny’s past few weeks as the symptom they are to his much bigger problem. As for Carly, I may agree with everything she slung at Sonny, I really might. However, I have to question Carly’s timing. Was the middle of the hospital the place? Is it always okay to turn on Sonny when his plan doesn’t work for her? Really that should have been Carly’s reaction when Sonny drugged and set up Jax to take the rap as a near sexual attacker, IF she was really concerned about Jax as Josslyn’s father! To hear Carly shouting “Murderer!” at Sonny in the middle of the hospital just rang a bit hypocritical to me. I see Sonny slipping further and further into that dark place, and that’s so dangerous – not just to Sonny, but to those he loves. Let’s all hope…and pray , like Sonny, that God will be able to intercede here, because timing is everything, especially when you are about to lose everyone and everything that matters to you.
Luckily for Jax, “murderer” is one label that doesn’t fit Sonny in this instance. Jax is alive and well, and trying to stay that way. He’s also trying to get out of town before anyone other than Skye, who owes Jax a favor or two, sees him and realizes he’s alive. This is one of those things that can only happen on soaps, but when I was a drama-driven teen, it was the one soap scenario I fantasized most about (Well, other than Jason using his teeth to rip open a…..)But I digress…What could be better than letting the people who have wronged you think you are dead? And then getting to hear them cry and wish they had treated you better while they had the chance? Especially when they are drowning in regret? It’s like the perfect revenge! Certainly Carly should be able to understand. She has pulled this trick herself. You know, I hope Jax gets an earful from Carly. I shall live and “fake-die” vicariously through him. Jax’s success in life has always depended on the truth that timing is everything. It seems timing is still something Jax can occasionally count one, as here comes a pretty remorseful Carly.
Timing Is Everything, folks. Sometimes it works for us, and sometimes it works against us. As a JaSam fan, I am confident that right now it’s working for us. For those who have asked what my thoughts are on the “coma dreams”, I haven’t really had many thoughts on them, but I will say this.
I have no idea how they will really play out, but I am holding on to a couple of things Steve Burton has said in a couple of interviews. First, he said that the dream “would drive Liason fans crazy.” Perhaps that alone didn’t seem like much, but he didn’t say that about any of the other dreams. Also, more recently Steve said something else that caught my attention, and that was “Be careful what you wish for.” Perhaps it’s my secret desire to have been an angel for The Townsend Agency, but those are the clues that seem to stick out in my mind. I am not worried about them at all. I think they will serve to say something (or maybe a few things) about the women dreaming them, more than they will about Jason’s relationships with them. And I think that will tell us the real WHY Jason is with the woman he ultimately chooses to be with.
That’s my gut feeling, and I am sticking with it.
For the rest of you…don’t worry about those dreams! Remember, Jason is NOT the one dreaming them, so how could they possibly affect him or his relationship with Sam? I mean…Can I control how many men are dreaming about me right now? Can you control how many are dreaming about you?
