True Love Does Still Exist…Even In Port Charles!

Happy Hump Day, GHers!
Jersey is in the middle of a nasty Heat Wave, and we’re all trying to conserve power on our block to avoid losing power, as it is a pretty common occurrence in this neck of the harbor. I shut off the a/c in order to blog, and I’m hoping to get through this post before my hubby notices a change in the temperature and wakes up!
Poor Molly. Port Charles’ patron mini-saint of Love and Romance was almost crushed. And really, I totally understand it. I mean, were you listening to Molly? Everywhere she turned, the facades she believed to be True Love were crumbling right before her very eyes.
I think everyone can understand why Molly was so concerned about the future of Love!
Carly and Jax and their family are now just a broken family, and no amount of Scooby-Doo Crew antics are going to bring them together. Molly finally got that with Jax’s arrest and the line that was crossed in the fight for custody of Josslyn was really a line in the proverbial sand. Jax and Carly are done, and that means Morgan and Josslyn will now have a family life a lot like hers. Broken.
Molly, in her beyond-her-years wisdom realizes that Jax’s downfall, and how it probably came about will also mean the end for Uncle Sonny and Aunt Brenda. For a kid like Molly, who’d hear the retellings of the great big, love story that swept Sonny and Brenda up over the years and left them feeling adrift while they had to endure life without each other, being able to witness their reconnection pay off in their dream wedding was HUGE for Molly. It cemented her belief that True Love really did win out! The thought of that crumbling has left Molly questioning not just her belief in Love, but in Love itself. Uncle Sonny and Aunt Brenda are broken, too!
It’s a good thing Molly doesn’t know what was going on with Lucky. Jason and Sam may have had to talk to her all night…and there would have gone Jason’s plans. I mean, what would Molly think about Lucky, Liz, and Siobhan? I don’t even know what to think. I mean, Family Dinner Night? Really? Is this something Liz also did with Nikolas? I get that Lucky wants to be there for Liz after they lost Jake. I get that he wants to be a good father. I get that he wants Aiden and Cam to have a sense that family is important – and that family is important to him, but can Lucky really live two separate lives? One with Liz and the boys and one with Siobhan? Why is that every man Liz gets involved with ends up living two lives? And usually both lives end up…Broken. These are all questions that boggle my mind, so could you imagine if Molly had to try and figure it out?
All Molly really wanted to know is if Love really does exist, or is it all a lie?
Thank goodness for Jason and Sam, or Molly’s belief in True Love might have remained Broken.
Really, no one else could have helped Molly more through this rough patch than these two LOVERS!
Jason and Sam know more about Love in its truest sense than anyone else I can think of in PC. Jason and Sam found Love by mistake, but made it work on purpose. They have been through it all, and come out of it together. Jason once forgot who Sam was, and yet fell in love with her all over again. Jason was Sam’s strength when her baby died, and Sam gave Jason that strength right back when he needed it in order to fight for his life. They lost love, found it, and are now holding onto it for dear life.
If anyone could give Molly the hope she needed to believe that Love exists, and even triumphs, it’s Jason and Sam! Thank you, GH Writers for finally acknowledging that there is no other Love Story that can even compare!
It’s funny that though Jason and Sam haven’t really had “The Talk” with each other, they seem to have had no problem sharing it with Molly. She actually remembers how to be vulnerable. *tears*
Sam didn’t hold back when she told Molly that Carly and Jax should have worked out a compromise (Just imagine the pain that could have been avoided had Jason and Liz done the same!) And Sam was finally so honest when she (finally) admitted that breakups are really painful, because I cannot remember her ever admitting to Jason just how painful their breakup was. I’m so glad Jason heard her say it. Really glad. He heard it with his heart.
How happy were we when Jason asked Sam last week if she was worried that he would lie to her, or hurt her again? Did you guys hear Jason tell Molly that sometimes things don’t always work out the way we want. Jason said, (and please listen up all fanbases) “People do make mistakes, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t in love,” and he said this as he pointedly looked at Sam. And then Jason – you know, Stone Cold, told Molly that Love does exist, as he looked over again at the Love. Of. His Life. And he even told Molly that she would know it when she found it. If only Spin were around to hear Stone Cold “wax poetic” about Love.
I think Molly served, unknowingly, as a relationship therapist – one who helped Jason and Sam to say the things that needed saying. With Molly there, they were both able to say things to each other, while still feeling the safety of “not talking about the past.”
I really think that what they said about their past, even if not (in their minds) to each other, helped them both to reevaluate their relationship and its strengths. Listening to each other helped them hear just how lucky they both are that they didn’t give up on love.
I also believe that talk with Molly is what helped Jason realize that he was more sure than ever about his future. His future with Sam. In all that talk about broken marriages and broken relationships, Jason walked away more convinced of just how solid and complete their Love really is.
Oh my! No wonder Jason asked Sam to join him for a picnic on the roof. He knew exactly what he was doing.
And thank God, so do we!
I cannot wait!
Before signing off, I just wanted to address an email that I got from our friend Jess. It was a question about getting #JaSam trending on Twitter. Honestly, I just don’t know how they didn’t trend today, with all of the #JaSamLove that was flying around on Twitter!
Anyway, Jess mentioned there are conflicting ideas on how to get something trending..whether to # (hashtag) or not. The other day in my post, I had said to add the hashtag. Someone else told her that things trend faster without the hashtag. She wants to be sure! (Thanks for caring, Jess!)
Well, since I am not an expert of any kind, I wanted you to know that I went right to the source before suggesting that we hashtag #JaSam. Please check out what Twitter Support has to say. Apparently, the # symbol identifies a word or phrase as “relevant”.
“And hashtagged words that become very popular are often Trending Topics.”
I also think it’s important to note that hashtagging more than three items in one tweet will be read as Spam, and will probably not help our cause.
But don’t take my word for it, take Twitter’s. 😉 http://support.twitter.com/entries/49309
Ummm, if the word JaSam wasn’t popular for most of the afternoon, I just don’t know what popular means!
Let’s get #JaSam trending! We can do this!
Spreading the #JaSam Love…
Let’s also make JaSam a trending topic among TPTB!
